Video Transcript for Bulldog Winch Electric Winch BDW20348 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna take a look at the Bulldog Winch 24 foot long, one odd gauge size rear wiring kit. This wiring kit will provide the power connection at the rear of your vehicle for your winch. It's designed to fit most pickups with extended cabs and long bed. The wire size is one odd gauge size wire. It's 24 feet of 100% copper strand double power and ground wires with the loop ends on the battery connection ends. On the other end is a quick connector, and that comes in two halves.

One half is on the battery wires. The other one is designed to connect to your winch wire end. It does include these one odd terminals for connecting your winch wires to this quick plug. You just put your wires in there and connect them. And then you make sure you put the correct positive and negative one in the right one.

And as you just push that in, it'll make the connection. Do the same on this one. And then, with it that way, you'll have your winch connected here. All you'd have to do is get your power is just go ahead and line them up, push them in and it'll make your connection. When you're not using it, it comes with this dust cover with the wire tether on it so you don't lose the dust cover for your vehicle side connector. You just push it in there, and it protects those terminals from any dust or elements.

Does also include these large cable ties that will secure these wires when you make your connections to your vehicles battery to keep the wires from hanging down, keep them out of the way.But that should do it for the review on the Bulldog Winch 24 foot long one odd gauge size rear wiring kit.

  • Can an DC Winch Work with AC Power Plug in the Back of a Honda Ridgeline
There are AC powered winches available but Dutton-Lainson winch # DL25215 cannot be wired to work with AC power. The AC powered winches though do not go up to 9,000 pounds and require 115 volt or 120 volt depending on the winch model. Your best option is to set your Ridgeline up with a DC winch and use the vehicle battery to power it. ComeUp winch # CU856333 is rated at 9,000 pounds. You could mount it to hitch receiver mount # BDW20155. And to wire it to the truck battery you can use...

  • Winch Wiring Kit for Installing Viper Recovery Winch on Trailer from Tow Vehicle Battery
While we don't carry Viper brand winches I was able to determine that they were designed to be used with 2 gauge wire. But since you are going to have a longer cable setup I'd recommend a thicker gauge to offset the increased length. So for that I would recommend the # BDW20348 for a section of 24 foot long 1 gauge wire for the vehicle side of the wiring and then for the trailer side we have the # BDW20347 which is 7-1/2 feet long and also 1 gauge.

  • Best Options for Charging Trailer Battery with Tow Vehicle
To put a maintenance charge on the battery of your trailer you'd just need to connect the circuit in the 1:00 pin of your 7-way to the trailer battery's positive post with 10 gauge wire like the part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot. If you were wanting put a more substantial charge on it you'd need something with a heavier gauge wire so that the more amperage could transfer to it. On the trailer side you'd want the 7-1/2 foot long wiring kit part # BDW20347 which uses 1 gauge wire and...

  • Is Core of Bulldog Winch Wiring Kit BDW20348 Copper Clad Aluminum
The core of the Bulldog Winch Rear Wiring Kit part # BDW20348 is copper clad aluminum. All of the connectors between the # BDW20348, # BDW20205 and # BDW20018 do match between each other.

  • Recommended Quick Connects for Warn Winch That Fits 2-4 Gauge Wiring
Quick connectors like the # BDW20348 do come in different sizes depending on the gauge of wiring required for the application. There are a couple of different options for 2-4 gauge wiring that you can use that I've listed below for you to check out. The connectors in the # BDW20348 are much larger than these other options. • Recommended Portable 10K Winch For Loading Equipment on a Tilt Trailer
I recommend using a Winch # SW39GR with the Hitch Mount # BDW20011. This way you only need a 2" receiver which is typically already on the rear of most trucks and are available for the front. For your tilt trailer you can weld on a Receiver # 337RT25806B where it works best to hold the winch. And we also have a Storage Mount # BDW20154 so you can place it in an easily dedicated area. The Winch # SW39GR does offer a wired or wireless remote. This is great as if you had an issue with the...

  • Wiring Kit to Wire Trailer Winch To Truck
I am not sure what gauge wire the winch that you are using calls for however, most winch wiring is 1-2 gauge. I recommend to use 24 foot 1 gauge winch wiring kit part # BDW20348. This will give you a quick disconnect at the rear of the vehicle.

  • How To Choose Correct Size Wire for 12K Winch on Rear of Vehicle
In order to find the correct size wire for a winch you'll need to know the amp rating. The Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch part # BDW10040 for example which has a 12,000 lb capacity and can pull anywhere from 65 - 400 amps depending on the load. It would take a very large wire to handle this much power over a distance from the front of the vehicle to the rear and that is not something we offer unfortunately. If you were only pulling out small loads then you could get away with the Bulldog Winch...

  • Wiring Kit to Charge Trailer Battery that Powers Winch on Car Hauler
Since winches draw quite a bit of amperage you'll need a winch wiring kit that uses heavy gauge wires to keep your trailer battery charged. On the trailer side you'd want the 7-1/2 foot long wiring kit part # BDW20347 which uses 1 gauge wire and then on the vehicle side the # BDW20348 which is 24 feet and would run all the way up to the vehicle battery. The wiring of the battery and the winch does not need to run to the frame of the trailer.

  • Wireless Brake Controller and Battery Charge Kit for Jeep Wrangler Towing Forest River E-Pro Camper
The setup you are interested in will be your best option to accomplish everything. The Curt Echo # C51180 is a great brake controller that can work without cell reception, in off-road situations, and is the easiest to transfer to other vehicles. Then to install it you need the part # ETBC7L. Now where you would need something else is that you want to significantly charge the trailer battery when towing which the 7-way kit is not equipped to do. On the trailer side you'd want the 7-1/2...

  • 2015 Silverado 2500HD Winch Wiring Kits for Front and Rear of Truck
We can help you with the wiring kits for the winch as we carry them but we do not carry a dual battery kit setup for your truck. I found several online when searching for them just now. For a rear wiring kit that uses 1 gauge wire we have the part # BDW20348, and then for the front part # BDW20347. This heavy of gauge wire would be ideal for a 12k winch like you have as well. For a 12,500 lb capacity Bulldog Winch Alpha we have the part # BDW10028 which would be a great option. This...

  • Recommended 12k Winch And Mounting Plate For A Trailer Hitch Receiver
For a 12k winch I recommend the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW10039. Bulldog is a well-known name in the winch community and this specific model comes with a wireless remote that you can use to easily activate the winch from anywhere within a 100' radius. To get this winch mounted to your trailer hitch you'll need the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate # BDW20011 and a reducer. You should have at most a 3" receiver tube opening so I recommend double checking the opening...

  • Can 7-Way Trailer Connector Accessory Circuit be Used to Power Trailer-Mounted Winch
The 12-volt accessory circuit lacks the amperage to power a trailer mounted winch. Your best bet would be to either install a 12-volt deep cycle battery on the trailer, and use the 12-volt accessory circuit to keep that battery maintained, or use a winch wiring kit like part # BDW20348 and connect the winch to the vehicle battery. If you use the 12-volt accessory circuit to maintain the trailer-mounted battery, I would recommend installing a battery isolator, like part # PK5231201. The...

  • High Amperage Quick Disconnect Setup for Back of Tow Vehicle to Trailer
We have just what you need with a winch wiring kit like the 1 gauge part # BDW20348 which comes with wiring designed for applications like yours that can carry much higher amperage than a 7-way. I attached a review video for this kit for you to check out as well.

  • Best Way to Charge Batteries on Trailer that Has Pressure Washers
You'd need wiring that is capable of carrying higher amperage than standard trailer wiring to charge two batteries on a trailer that are going to be used as much as your setup. The best solution is to use winch wiring kits which use very heavy gauge wire like part # BDW20348 for 24 feet and # BDW20347 for 7-1/2 feet. You'd run the longer setup on your tow vehicle and then the shorter setup on your trailer. The vehicle side wiring would connect to the battery of the vehicle and the trailer...
