    • Efficient charging
    • Maximum power
    • Longer battery life
    • Safer operation
  • Protects main starting battery from auxiliary drain
  • Regulates current for multi-battery system

Specs:

  • Application: alternators with amperage ratings below 95 amps
  • Capacity: 95 amps
  • Overall dimensions: 4" long x 4-1/2" wide x 2-1/2" tall excluding bolts
  • Quantity: 1
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Note: It is recommended that you purchase an isolator with an amperage rating above that of your alternator to prevent any damage to the isolator.

In a multi-battery system, the battery with the lower state of charge will drain power from the battery with the higher state of charge. This battery isolator protects your starting battery power so that no matter how weak your accessory battery becomes, the accessory battery will never drain power from the starting battery. This battery isolator also saves time by allowing simultaneous charging of both batteries. The amount of current flowing into each battery is determined by its state of charge, which guarantees that each battery will get fully charged, prolonging its life.

The 95 amp isolator is an excellent unit. Used on my RAM 2500 diesel pickup for my pop-top camper, this unit is quite sufficient to keep both my dual truck batteries and dual camper batteries charged by my 160 amp OEM alternator. Quality gear; Highly recommended!

Timely delivery arrival, very good packing job, undamaged NEW items arrived due to good customer service. This is definitely a high quality unit. The heat generating epoxy-sealed electronics are protected from overheat by a generous amount of blue-anodized extruded aluminum cooling fins. This is a good value, and it is the reason that I bought 2 of them... One for use, and another for a back-up, in case I have a shorted battery... Keep-up the good work!

by:

The battery isolator l purchased from you guys is serving me well with no issues.l don't have to worry about my starter battery running down except for unrelated reasons.

by:

Wiring instructions left a lot to be desired

We always get a great product from Etra iler.

While it was a challenge to put it in our motorhome, once installed, it works perfectly. It appeared almost identical to the original one I removed on our 1996 Road Trek.

by:

Going to give it a 2500 mile test run t omorrow.

Ordered by phone with Gwen and Stacy's help and elected to pickup the battery isolator in Wentzville, Missouri. Price was great and it has a one-year warranty. Within an hour or two they emailed it was ready. Pickup was also quick and professional. Item is an exact replacement for the 25-year-old failed part in terms of form, fit and function. Installed without rewiring or drilling and is working great! This could not have been a better experience!

by:

Great selection and very reasonable prices, many with discounts, often cheaper than that big online site. Particularly impressed with customer service when I had a product issue, called me right away and offered replacement item immediately with free UPS return label.

  • Deka Battery Isolator # DW08770 Recommendation for Charging Van Camper Second Battery
For you application the Deka Battery Isolator # DW08770 would be a solid choice and a great solution. It will allow you to charge your auxiliary batteries from your alternator while preventing the aux batteries from draining the main battery when the vehicle is off. It also enhances the alternator charge to make it ideal for charging a battery.

  • Does E Circuit of Isolator DW08770 Need to Be Completed
The E circuit needs to be completed on the # DW08770 in order for the circuits of the isolator to be completed. If that circuit does not run to a 12 volt source it would not allow the circuits to complete. Typically this is ran to a keyed power source so that the circuits are only active when the vehicle is running. So basically you have to run it to a power source to turn it on. You can do this by running it to a power source that is on all the time if you have no need for it to turn off...

  • Deka 4 Post Isolator Installation
The Deka Battery Isolator - 95 Amp # DW08770 does require the ignition switch be connected to the E post. This is how you ensure the batteries are isolated and the auxiliary battery does not draw power from the starting battery. You will want to use a 6 amp circuit breaker on the wire connected to the ignition switch run position as shown in the attached diagram. If you want to temporarily bypass the ignition switch you just need 12v on the E post.

  • How To Protect the 12 Volt Circuit On a 7-Way From a Generator
It sounds like you are asking if you can use a battery isolator to protect the battery on your tow vehicle from the generator while powering items on your trailer. If that is the case then yes, the Deka Battery Isolator part # DW08771 will work for you. However, I doubt you will be drawing anywhere close to 120 amps so you would most likely save some money with the 95 amp version, part # DW08770.

  • Wiring Kit to Install Deka battery Isolator on a 2015 Toyota Tacoma

  • Amperage Ratings of Deka Battery Isolators DW08770 and DW08771
A battery isolator should be rated for at least the same capacity as the alternator output and the higher-rated battery, but a higher-rated one would be great too as this would tend to potentially improve its durability in your application. We have several isolators, including the Deka # DW08770 rated for 95-amps and 120-amp-rated # DW08771.

  • Battery Isolator for 1991 Jamee Motorhome to Prevent Battery Drain
In motorhomes with multiple batteries there should be an isolator already in place that prevents the main battery (that starts the engine) from being depleted by the auxiliary battery that powers the interior lights. A battery isolator like the Deka # DW08770 and the higher-capacity 120-amp-rated # DW08771 need a 12V input signal to close them, which then allows battery power to pass through. You can turn that trigger signal on and off using a circuit controlled by the vehicle ignition key, such as a power antenna circuit, by using a fuse tap like # F2526. You certainly could use another method to switch that trigger signal on and off, such as a switched fuse.
