Wireless Brake Controller and Battery Charge Kit for Jeep Wrangler Towing Forest River E-Pro Camper

Question:

I’ll soon be towing a 2018 Forest River E-Pro 12RK with a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, without factory tow package. I currently have installed: - HM42635 Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. - C45030 Curt Ball Mount for 2inch Hitches - 1inch Rise, 2-1/4inch I want to find and install a wiring set up that will get me the required 7-way plug and also: 1. Up-charge not just maintain the battery on the trailer either 12v or potentially 2 deep cycle 6V 2. Have a brake controller, ideally one that is adjustable for rough/off road conditions, perhaps in areas without cell phone coverage. 3. If possible, doesn’t require hard wiring the brake controller into the vehicle and would possibly allow me to use the same brake controller on multiple tow vehicles assuming 7-way plug. I’m leaning toward the proposed set up below, but not sure it meets those requirements. Can you confirm, or suggest a better recommendation? - 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires Item # ETBC7L - Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional Item # C51180 - Other needed mounting brackets, connectors, etc. for this installation? I could also use a suggested ball to go on the C45030 ball mount, and any other fun accessories you might suggest for the e-pro 12RK! Thanks!

The setup you are interested in will be your best option to accomplish everything. The Curt Echo # C51180 is a great brake controller that can work without cell reception, in off-road situations, and is the easiest to transfer to other vehicles. Then to install it you need the part # ETBC7L.

Now where you would need something else is that you want to significantly charge the trailer battery when towing which the 7-way kit is not equipped to do. On the trailer side you'd want the 7-1/2 foot long wiring kit part # BDW20347 which uses 1 gauge wire and then on the vehicle side the # BDW20348 which is 24 feet and would run all the way up to the vehicle battery. This will put a very healthy charge on the battery.
