This smart converter charger converts AC shore power into DC power and uses the Charge Wizard multistage charging system to charge your battery bank. If your RV already has a stock converter charger, it will need to be removed to ensure this unit operates properly.
Using the built-in Charge Wizard, the converter charger automatically switches voltages while the battery bank charges. This accelerates the charge, but also helps extend battery life by adjusting the voltage during the different modes. This charger is compatible with flooded lead acid, AGM, and gel batteries.
Charging Modes
The system includes a number of safety features. It has a reverse polarity protection that will protect the converter if the battery is hooked up incorrectly. Additionally, the unit includes protection for overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent, which can damage your equipment, as well as the converter. It also has GFCI protection that shuts off power when there is a current imbalance. The built-in cooling fan also removes excess heat from the unit. The fan speed is proportional to the internal temperature on the converter, so when the power demand is low, the fan will operate quietly.
The Converter Status Remote Pendant (sold separately) monitors the converter's charging status. It also allows you to manually override the charge process to verify the unit is operating properly. The pendant uses a flashing green LED to indicate what charging mode is active. It easily connects to the converter's accessory port with the attached cable.
The converter mounts horizontally inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. However, as long as the unit has sufficient ventilation, it can also be mounted vertically. The mounting hardware is not included.
The DC output terminals wire to the battery bank. The AC in cord plugs into a 120V 3-wire grounded source.

Converts AC shore power to DC power to run 12V loads at the campground.When my 40-amp converter suddenly quit working, I began searching for a replacement after confirming with my multimeter that there was no output. I found very few 40-amp and those were very $$$. I contacted etrailer.com to see if I could replace with a 45-amp. A quick response assured me it would assuming the 12v wiring would be heavy enough since an additional 5-amps would be minimal. The installation was very simple, and the system was immediately restored.

Easy to install and served me well for the past year - almost. Recently it will not charge my battery and I find that both 30A DC fuses are open and I do not know why. The result is no output voltage, of course. Will be calling about this.

a lot better than my old one i had to put water in the batteries only after 3 month like four times during the year real good product
Replaced the 2004 converter in my Itasca suncruiser with the pd9245c. Needed something safer after changing over to three agm house batteries. Also solved my tank lights showing full unless unplugged from shore power. Thanks for the great service.
Exact easy replacement for PD9245c that had been running for 17 years. New measured voltage: 14.49, 13.69, and 13.28 Vdc. I was impressed with the shipping. Not much a tech, I installed it, seems to work fine. Curious why there was a spark on the positive side when all batteries disconnected?

Very nice. Works as advertised. Great capacity for large battery banks. I use this to maintain the charge on 3 - 200Ah AGM batteries in a parallel configuration that support a 3Kw Victron hybrid converter with 2-270W solar panels on the roof of my trailer. I also purchased the Wizard to indicate state of charge, very helpful.
After I removed my old unit I installed an outlet then slid the new converter into place and wired it to the connections on the fuse board.After plugging it in the fan came on momentarily. I checked the voltage and it was at 13.59.The unit is compact, quiet.I used this unit to replace the Parallax 8345 converter.

The converter is doing a great job. I couldnt ask for any better. It is more quiet than the original.
Took 9 days in shipping but that was on the USPS , not etrailer!
I use this along with two 6V golf cart batteries and it works great for dry camping. We run the generator about an hour a day and keeps them charged. Did a few trips this summer for a week at a time with no issues.

Still working good
Installation was easy. The wizard remote was a nice extra for monitoring the unit. No issues so far, and everything seems to be in perfect running order.
So far so good! As I’m familiar with these products, I’ve known them to be very reliable. My order was received undamaged in a timely matter. Great service!
This was a great deal and just what I needed to replace my old converter. It was worked flawlessly ever since I installed it.

This is a good replacement for WFCO that came with the Motorhome. While the WFCO will deliver at least 20 amps of current it is only at 13.6 volts which isn't high enough for Deep Cycle batteries. The PD9245C will produce the same current at 14.4 volts which is the minimum you want for Deep Cycle batteries. Since there is a slight draw always on the house batteries the PD9245C stays at 13.6 volts when batteries are fully charged. Exactly the float voltage required by Interstate AGM batteries.

Very satisfied. Installed in a small vintage camper and keeps our single battery charged for 12V lighting.
I recently found out that for the last year my battery has been dead on my RV. I live full time in my RV and I did not notice the dead battery because this charger was so good, it never missed a beat.
