Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Superwinch SX12SR integrated off-road winch. This is a high performance winch that is designed for heavy duty vehicle recovery applications. It's got a sealed six horsepower, 12 volt DC series round motor that is going to efficiently deliver quick and safe line pulling. It's rated for a line pole with a static load of 12,000 pounds with a single layer of rope around the drum. It does also have a sealed all steel three-stage planetary gearbox with a gear ratio of 231 to one.

So it's gonna have a nice rugged construction to stand up to the stress and fork, but then it will also quickly and quietly turn the drum. We're going to have a line pool speed at zero pounds at the speed is going to be 23 and 7/16 feet per minute, with a power draw of 68 AMPS. If we have that full 12,000 pound pull, it's going to give us a power draw of 379 AMPS with a speed of three and 11/16 feet per minute. So the motor is going to respond to that increased load by slowing down and reducing the current to minimize the risk of overheating. So it's gonna hold up well, do a good job for you as you're out there actually using it.

Does have this 3/8 inch diameter synthetic rope. It's gonna be very strong and durable. You're gonna have 85 feet of that. It does also have the removable latch hook and nylon hand saver strap included so that you can pull that out and work with it very easily. This will wrap around your all steel two and a quarter inch diameter by eight and three quarter inch long drum.

And then of course you have your aluminum hoss fairly here that's going to help protect the synthetic rope from damage by reducing the strain rubble and especially for going around the corners. You got those nice smooth edges there. On remote is a rubber coating on the outside and give it a little bit more grip. You're gonna have 12 feet of cord so that you can very easily stand back away from your winch while you're operating it. It will just flip open that cap there, plug it in like so, and then back away up to 12 feet with this.

And you can see, we have very clear in and out buttons there so that we can very easily control our winch. On the back side, we do have a built-in lithium battery. So if we push this button here, that's going to shine that light so that we can see get everything plugged in at night or in low light conditions. We do also have the remote that's going to activate the winch drum light for right time visibility. I don't have it plugged in right now, so it's not going to operate that, but that is a nice feature there so that you have a little bit more vision or visibility if you're working at night. They're also going to include this additional wireless remote. So if you need additional flexibility during your recovery, you need to be further than that 12 feet away. You've got that option as well. Does have this ergonomic pull and turn three spool clutch that's going to allow you to pull out the rope faster. So you have a faster payout to get pulled to where you need to hook it up and then you can very easily turn that back in place so that the clutch will engage and everything will pull and release like normal. This does have an automatic 100% load holding mechanical brake. So it's going to eliminate the drag when you're pulling in the cable and reduce the creep when you're letting the cable out. So it will hold that weight for you. This does have an extruded aluminum body, which is going to be a very sturdy corrosion resistant material. It is an integrated one piece design. So all the components are going to be permanently mounted within the housing to help protect from rocks and debris. The cylinoid is also weather sealed to help reduce the possibility of damage from rain, snow, and blowing dust, so it's gonna be a very, very durable for you. Hold up well, as far as our dimensions go, we're looking at right about 22 inches wide by just shy of 10 inches tall, and then our depth, if we're not including our wires back here, if we're just looking at the main body, we're about six and a half inches deep, we do have this die-cast aluminum control box that is going to be able to be relocated if you will need to fit your winch into a tighter application, your gearbox can also be rotated so that you can customize the position so you can more easily access that clutch to release it. So you can free spool and pull out your line as you need to. On the bottom are mounting bolt pattern. We're looking at right at 10 inches center to center by four and a half inches center to center. If you can see that I have enough, the best angle for us, but right at four and a half inches there, this does come with a limited lifetime warranty on the mechanical components. And like I said, it is going to hold up really well with that aluminum construction and all the components being covered and protected with that one piece design. That's gonna do a great job for you in all sorts of environments to allow you to recover your vehicle. If you're doing some off-loading or you're helping someone else out.
