Video Transcript for Bulldog Winch Electric Winch BDW20205 Review

Today we're going to review part number BDW20205. This is the Bulldog Fully Assembled Front Wiring Kit. This kit will provide a power connection for your wench at the front of your vehicle. Right here, this part that goes on your vehicle is designed to . The wires are long enough to run from the battery in your vehicle to the front grill of the vehicle. This is fully assembled right here.

The wires you can see, the black and the red wires, are each about 7 1/2 feet in length. The red one is your power wire. The black one will be your ground wire. They do have the looped ends, the connectors on them, made to hook to your battery post. The red wire, being your power wire, would go to your positive post.

Your black is your negative ground, would go to your negative side of your battery. Now, also, included is this nice dust cover with a wire tether for the vehicle side. When you're not connected to your wench, you can just put this on. It helps protect the terminals from any of the elements. Now, the gauge size on both the power and the ground is 2 gauge wire size. This kit also comes with the other half of the connector, right here.

It comes with the two halves. One's already installed for the vehicle. This one's for your wench. What you'd want to do is .. It comes with these two high grade copper terminals that are silver plated.

They are designed to accept a wire gauge size of anywhere from 0 gauge up to 4 gauge wire. Your wires from your wench will go into here with them connected. All you have to do is put them in here with the wire connected. Make sure you get your positive and negative in the right one. Then just push it all the way in. You'll hear them click into place. Do the other one. You put the hook down. Put it in there with the wire attached. Push it all the way in. Now your terminals are ready to go. This would be onto your wench. When you go to hook your wench to the front of your vehicle, just go ahead and pull off the dust cap. It's on there pretty snug. This will be from your wench. All you have to do is line it up. Go ahead and line them up. Push it right in. It has a very nice, snug, weatherproof connection. Then you can operate your wench from the front of your vehicle. When you want to remove your wench off the vehicle, just disconnect it, just like that. Go ahead and put your dust cover back on. Then this will be attached to your wench. Very simple installation. Also, you'll notice it does come with some cables, extra cable ties, to help secure any length of wire that might be hanging down. That should do it for the review on part number BDW20205, the Bulldog Fully Assembled Front Wiring Kit. .

Great setup. I love being able to quick connect my winch, jumper cables and inverter, and not having to mess with the hood and battery anymore. Next project is to run a second one to the rear.

A year later and everything is working just as well as the day Ive installed it. No more messing around under the hood. Ive since about a few more quick connect ends for other accessories, all work great.

Hi quality product, better than I expected. Also reasonably priced. It will be a quality accessory added to the vehicle and be interchangeable to the next vehicle I purchase. Thanks etrailer for making my shopping easier. AND Talk about quick service and delivery all 5 Star for me. I purchased both front and rear hook ups for my winch or other things that will need power and they are both just what the doctor ordered.

by:

Will give me a good way to mount a removable winch on my truck. I have use before and they work well.

  • Wiring Needed to Power Dump Trailer Directly From Truck Battery
A 24 foot power and ground wire kit part # BDW20207 would be a great solution for the wiring on the vehicle side of the setup and then from there to the battery on the trailer we have shorter kits like the part # BDW20205.

For your ComeUp Seal Gen2 Off-Road Winch # CU295955, I recommend the Bulldog Winch Bulldog Winch Front Wiring Kit - Quick Connect to Terminal End - 2 Gauge - 7-1/2' Long # BDW20205 to give you the additional wire and connections you need for the relocation.

  • Winch Wiring Kit for Polaris Sportsman 800
You might want to check your specific winch to confirm that it is not trying to draw more power than what is available from the Polaris. Winches need heavy-gauge wiring such as kit # BDW20205 from Bulldog, which includes 2-gauge power cables. Your wiring may simply not be able to deliver the required current for your specific winch.

  • Availability of a Winch Wiring Kit to Connect a Winch on the Front of a Ford F-150
The Superwinch Trailer and Vehicle Electric Winch Wiring Kit, for up to 16.5K Winches, # BDW20207, will work well to install a wiring connection at the rear of your Ford F-150. However for a connection at the front of your truck you will need a shorter cable to run to the battery. I recommend the Bulldog Winch Wiring Kit, # BDW20205. This kit will give you 7-1/2 feet of cable to wire from the front receiver to the battery. The cable is 2 gauge which will be thick enough to handle the...

We have exactly the parts you are looking for. Starting with the winch I recommend the Bulldog Winch Standard Series Off-Road Winch - Synthetic Rope # BDW10046 would be a great option that has the 12000lb rating you are looking for, and automatic mechanical brake will hold 100% of the load to minimize winch creep. For a quick disconnect connection I recommend the Bulldog Winch Front Wiring Kit # BDW20205 if you are planning on mounting the winch to the front of your vehicle, or the Bulldog...

  • Recommended Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver And Winch For 2020 Ram 2500
We have exactly the parts you are looking for. For a front mount trailer hitch receiver I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH37FR since it has a 10000lb line pull rating, which is the highest rating out of all of the options confirmed to fit your 2020 Ram 2500 4x4 Crew Cab Short Bed Diesel. • Can 14/2 Wire be Used to Power Winch from Truck Battery
You will not want to use 14/2 wire to supply power to your winch as that is 14 gauge wire which isn't thick enough. Instead you will want to use a kit like part # BDW20205 or # BDW20207 which uses 2 gauge wire. Winches can pull upwards of 350 amps so it takes pretty heavy-duty wiring.

  • Charging Dump Trailer Battery Recommendations
The CTEK 12-Volt Universal Battery Charger w/ Pulse Maintenance # CTEK56353 is a charger that you'd use when the trailer is parked. It plugs into a wall outlet and will charge your dump trailer battery all the way up quickly. It would not be a charger that could charge the trailer battery as the truck and trailer are travelling down the road. I attached a review video for the charger for you to check out as well. If you wanted to directly charge the winch off your truck battery then...

Best option would be a winch wiring kit like the Bulldog Winch part # BDW20207 which is 2 gauge wire and 24 feet long. This could be ran from the front of your truck (to the battery) to the back where another wiring could like the # BDW20205 to wire to the winch itself. This kit is 7-1/2 feet long. The wire gauge on your solar panel's charge controller should have been determined to be adequate based on the panel's output, to ensure it does not limit charging performance. Our 110-watt solar systems like # 34272630, shown on the linked page, use 4-gauge wire. I recommend you use the heaviest gauge wire you can and the shortest possible extension length. • Winch Recommendation to Pull a 2010 Ford F-250 Super Duty Out of Mud
I strongly recommend getting the highest capacity winch possible to pull your 2010 Ford F-250 Super Duty out of mud. I would not rely on a 1,500 or 3,000 lb winch to pull your truck out of mud. Keep in mind that when your truck is stuck and you want to use a winch to pull it out, you are pulling the weight of the truck plus the weight of the mud and any additional force against the truck that is created by the mud. All of the front mounted hitches that we carry for your truck have a 9,000...
