Perfect replacement, works great, excellent shipping time and service. Just wish I had got the electric motor that goes with the legs.

by:

As everything I order from eTrailer the landing gear worked perfectly.

by:

Ordered this from etrailer instead of other sites as I knew the shipping would be faster. Sure enough I got the item in 4 days on Thursday and Installed it on Sunday. Very quick and easy. Took longer to get all my tools and set up items together than the actual work. The item was a exact fit with installation being feeding the legs through the holes in the floor down from the inside and installing the 4 clamping bolts to hold them in, the gear box on the lead leg and the cross bar and motor. Now it purrs like a kitten when activated instead of clanking and creaking and blowing fuses. Actual install time was probably 1.5 hours taking my time and injecting extra grease into the gears and lead screw. These replacement units have a grease fitting for both which is great and should allow them to last forever! Being a safety freak I used a 3 ton jack with a 4X6 placed long ways to catch the I beams under the trailer then placed 3 ton car jacks under the frame also and for extra safety backed my truck bed under the tongue for extra security while I worked. The price was crazy great, the fit was excellent and the shipping was fast as usual. less money in parts and 2 hours of work probably easily saved me a grand over taking it to a RV repair shop! Thanks etrailer. Saved me again!

by:

Well it happened while out enjoying the AZ mints. My landing gear quit working. Returned home in time, to rebuild my landing gear. I got on line, checked etrailer.com, they had the landing gear that fits 90% of all 5th wheels. I purchased the set, arrived a day early, all the parts were complete in the box. It was a perfect fit, so easy to install. I greased all the gears, even the crank box gears, painted the cross bar.

by:

These units were spot on
Easy install
and a nice upgrade
Always etrailer comes though
I will refer any and all my friends here

Support was great at telling me exactly what I needed for my model of 5th wheel. Product arrived in a couple of days. The landing gear kit came with all parts necessary and fit perfectly.

The landing gear has worked flawlessly for a year. The only recommendation I have is that the zerk fitting be moved down an inch or so. They are useless because the square tube that goes between the two to activate the slave side is in the way. I had to remove the zerks so they wouldnt rub. Not a deal breaker. The Jacks are great and well built.

by:

The jacks are of excellent quality. They arrived on time and in good shape. I was a little disappointed that the square drive shaft was unpainted, but that is not a deal breaker. A can of spray paint will take care of that.

Jacks are working great!!

by:

DO NOT get thrown by the low price of this unit. The RVLG 8000 works great. I have a 40ā€™ 5th wheel and it was a very simple and direct replacment of the old one. The ordering was very easy and was received within a couple days. The whole replacement only took me (by myself) about 2 hours. This replaced the stock unit which was rated for 5500lbs lift this one is 8000lbs lift which worked much better. This unit also has grease fittings so you can easily keep them lubed. I also took the gear box apart and drilled and taped a grease fitting into it.
Very good product I highly recommend it and etrailer.

by:

Box was beat up and missing a few things. Called and told them about the missing items. They shipped me the parts no questions asked. Definitely will buy from them again

by:

Replaced a pair of Atwood's with these. These were about 3" longer than the Atwood's and weld stops were in different places but I just welded them in. They have nice big feet and are very heavy. Atwood electric motor bolted right in. Overall very happy with the landing gear, as it was cheaper than just the replacement driver leg Atwood that was broke.

by:

Perfect fit and works perfectly

by:

I called to order a new landing gear set for my 2004 Cougar by Keystone fifth wheel camper. The old landing gear had stripped the bevel gears, with this new gear set I was able to remove my old gear and install the new landing gear. The install was easy and was done within 30 minutes, I also reinstalled y old motor and it bolted right up to the new gearbox.

My call to etrailer was a great customer service experience and I will be looking into my future purchases from them. I have also already recommended etrailer to my friends for their purchase needs. I give them 5 out of 5 stars!!!

by:

Failed 18 months after purchase, only comes with a 1 year warranty. The landing gear jammed up, it will no longer go up or down. I have greased the fittings but under ANY load they do not work.

It is unfortunate that your landing gear has jammed within such a short amount of time. I have sent your information over to our customer service department for them to better assist you.

by:

Worked perfectly to replace my damaged jacks on 2021 Keystone 31MB. Thanks etrailer for the speedy delivery and great installation instructions.

by:

Perfect fit and an easy install, my gears were messed up and blowing fuses, this fixed my problem.

by:

Excellent fit, fastest delivery ever. The Rv repair shop wanted $140 an hr plus $405 for their landing gear ... oh plus tow because I couldn't get it hooked to truck....
So I saved over $600 easily, these legs are better quality and less expensive. I had them installed in2 hrs

by:

Better than the OEM jacks. Super price and excellent service with fast delivery. The jacks have 2 grease fittings on each jack. Something the OEM jacks didnā€™t have.

by:

After my drive leg went out on my 5th wheel (bent acme screw and stripped worm gear), My choice was to either purchase (a) an OEM Lippert part that was rated for 5000 lbs/pair or (b) purchase this entire set rated at 8000 lbs/pair for $100 less and get two brand new legs, a new drive shaft, new gear box, and new feet for the legs. I did not even know about this option until I spoke with two customer service agents and this was recommended as a less-expensive upgrade.

The install was easy with a few jacks and jack stands, so thanks Jamie and Amy for the help locating and purchasing the correct replacement parts!

by:

Shipped quickly. It was a perfect match for my failed landing gear. It took less than 3 hours to install. etrailer's price was excellent. Very happy with this purchase

by:

Super easy to install. Had to replace non motor side, so figured I would just replace both with a new set.

by:

Just what I ordered. I was hoping for instructions for the correct install order for the cross member, spacer and reduction gear. Would seem fairly simple until you try to get it all to fit together. Thank you YouTube!!

Chris

  • Could Landing Gear Set # RVLG-8000 Install on Bumper Pull Trailer
There's no reason you couldn't install the Landing Gear Set # RVLG-8000 that you mentioned on your bumper pull trailer. It would take fabrication like you mentioned but it would work well once installed.

The shipping weight of the Landing Gear Set part # RVLG-8000 is right at 60 lbs so the complete assembly likely weighs around 55 lbs or so. The legs will both weigh around 25 lbs each. Unfortunately, we do not offer the replacement legs for this particular set so you will just need to purchase the entire unit and take what you need.

  • Atwood RV Replacement Landing Gear on 2008 Jayco 5th Wheel Trailer
Atwood brand of jacks no longer exists and there is not a 37 inch outer tube from any of our manufacturers. I recommend you consider the Landing Gear Set - 36-1/2" Lift - 8,000 lbs # RVLG-8000 as a replacement. You will want to check the bracket dimensions compared to the weld stops. If you are concerned about the cross bar, then the Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set - 36" Lift - 8,000 lbs # RP500708 is a great option with dual motors so you don't need that crossbar connection.

  • Atwood Gear Repair Kits for 5th Wheel Landing Gear
When it comes to 5th wheel landing gear like # RVLG-8000, tongue jacks or winches, it is usually best in the long run to use an over-spec product that can handle more weight than you're going to ask it to. This tends to increase the working lifespan of such items since they will then be operated conservatively, well below their limits. Landing gear rated for 1000-lbs on a 14k+ trailer is surely a bit on the light side. Atwood landing gear repair kits are shown on the linked page. These...
