Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. while ratcheting with the other. Already had a set of these but could not attain more locally. etailer had these in the six foot version, and gave me the option of getting those faster, but opted for the ten-footers I originally ordered, despite a slightly longer wait. Base price was good, with s/h & state tax adding another $10 to the total. Ended up at $20/strap, well worth it in time and frustration saved using conventional 2 pc. style straps. Only wish I could get them even longer, but I'm guessing design limits amount of strap storage available. LOVE these things! Get them and throw your old style straps away.
I just received these yesterday for a trip this weekend so I yet to use them but I got them for their ease of use! The thing I hated about the other ratchet straps was how to deal with all the leftover strap. It was just a little more time consuming having to tie them down in such a way as to not have them blowing in the wind. Yes it is always great to stop every once in a while and check your load and tighten down everything but again, the ease of use it the reason why I bought 4 10 footers!!
Love the design of these ratchet straps. Simple one button retracts strap back into housing. My only wish is that they came in a slightly longer length, say maybe 15' long. This is my second pair. Couldn't be happier!

These straps are awesome. I have 4 to tie down my atv and I got these 2 for strapping our kayaks into their RV hitch mount rack. I'll never buy any other kind of ratchet strap again. These are so easy and convenient to use, very well made, and no long lengths of extra strap always tangling up!

Still a great product. I have several sets and different sizes.
I use these retractable straps now so I don't have to deal with loose strap ends. The quick release button is easier to release and the coated hook ends protect your attachment points.

Still working out great
Bought these for my wife to use when hauling hay. She loves them. No more tangled straps. I would highly recommend these. etrailer had great prices & like always great communication & shipping.

Working just as well as when I first bought them
These ratchet straps are perfect for my hitch rack when traveling. At first I bought just 2 but realized that I was hauling some smaller items and 4 would be better. The straps hold things tight and release easily. Definitely better then the bungee cords I used in the past.
I have been using these ratchet straps for a while now and they work great for what I need. They retract when not in use and this makes for a much neater storage.

The straps are great easy to use and put away.
I love these straps..I have used these on a trailer to secure a RZR. They have not given me an instant of trouble or failed to do what they were designed to do. Initially I used them with no permanent attachment but recently decided to bolt them to the frame of the trailer. I've had several people ask me where I got them and how much they cost. Bottom line is I think these were a great investment and I would buy them again.
My husband hasn't had a chance to use them yet, but is very excited to get rid of his old crappy straps that don't automatically retract!! Plus I originally ordered the wrong item & etrailer was very easy to work with!!!

I am Dr. Richard Pendleton, retired Professor of Mechanical Engineering. My primary field was mechanical design. I recently purchased some of the Erickson re-tractable ratcheting trailer tie-downs. I am very favorably impressed. Commonly products descriptions inflate the value of the product. The web advertisement of these tie-downs did not do that. If anything the ad was an understatement. The video was very helpful and accurate. I am more than pleased with this product. Feel free to use my name and statements as you wish.
I have bought and used all types of tie down straps these are simple and functional and most of all when your done with them the rewind option eliminates dealing with with the straps. In addition it allows you to store multiple sets togeather with out them tangling up and saves time for your next use. Been waiting for these for years I hope they produce a larger version for heavy loads
I own a set of four of these retractable straps but, I recently lost one. Since I could not buy a single strap I ordered this pair. They are superior to the standard ratchet straps that I own.
They still work like they are brand new and are easy to use. We bought them to hold our travel trailer awning down while camping. They have been in some very high winds and work great.
These ratchet straps are the neatest thing since sliced bread! I have not used ratchet straps for years because they are such a pain but these have opened my eyes to a whole new world of securing cargo. Completely self-contained, eliminating strap "tails" flapping in the wind. Spring loaded to take up slack, just push a lever. What could be be simpler? These should be the last ones I ever buy. Thank you!
