Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we take a look at the etrailer 24 inch long axle straps with the D rings. These have a 33,333 pound working load limit and this is for a quantity of two straps. Now you'll use these axle straps to tie down a vehicle to the bed of your trailer. Basically, when you're trailering a vehicle you wanna make sure and secure it to the trailer. And one of the best ways to do that is using these axle straps on the underside of the trailer.

Usually there's no good tie down points on the underside of the vehicle. So these axle straps will basically loop around your axle and then they attach to a ratchet strap to hold the vehicle in place. Now it is recommended to use two axle straps per axle and these will work with most ratcheting tie down straps. Now those we do sell separately on our website. What's unique on these straps let me just zoom in to show you.

They use these nice flat D rings, which will attach directly to the ratcheting strap hook when you put these together and because they're flat, what's nice about it makes 'em easy to feed under any brake line or through any tight spaces. The webbing on this is a two inch wide durable polyester webbings just like a seatbelt material. It is durable and abrasion resistant. And if you notice the black sleeve it's a protective sleeve that goes over the whole strap. This prevents excessive wear on the strap when you're hooking it up and using it.

A few specs on this again, this is for a quantity of two axle straps. The dimensions, the straps are two inches wide, 24 inches long. Now the maximum load or break strength on this strap is 10,000 pounds on each one. But what's more important is the safe working load limit which is a third of the break strength. So it's 3,333 pounds on each strap, and tie down straps and their accessories must be chosen by that safe working load limit.

Basically, the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps that are being used. So just to give you an example, if you're using straps with a working load limit of 500 pounds each to tie down a load that's weighing a thousand pounds, then you'll need at least two straps to safely secure that load.
