If you have a 2-inch rear hitch on your 2013 Toyota Tacoma one particularly handy option is the Erickson Big Bed Junior Load Extender. This system consists of a hitch-mounted load support bar to support one end of your canoe.
I recommend the Malone foam blocks part # MPG172 to cushion the load.
It has an overall weight capacity of 350-lbs, overall width of 51-inches and it can adjust vertically over a range of 7-inches when used as a bed extender. This rack can be used to extend the bed or support one end when the other is on the roof. You would need roof protection if you use it in that manner.
The Darby system does not include tie-down straps so you can choose the type you like, such as ratcheting straps like # EM34415 from Erickson. A link to all such tie-downs is included.
