Recommended Mobility Chair Carrier for Chevy Suburban
Question:
I have a Jazzy 620 I think. Its a nice chair type electric wheelchair I sit in. Like a chair on a base and the bottom and leg area are like a push wheelchair where my legs would be. Its not a type you ride in at Walmart etc. with a basket and a big platform to step on or sit your feet. Its a big moving chair, LOL. I need a ramp for it for my Suburban. I do not know what the measurement of my hitch is? And I do not know what size of these to buy? It looks like the one that actually says its a Mobile Wheelchair ramp. Very simple, does not give the weight of the ramp though, or how much weight it holds, ie the chairs weight. I need to order one Asap as my back gets worse and worse with my legs giving out. My husband who also has had back surgery and would be the one taking it off and on etc. hopes we can get one that is the lightest as possible. Could you point me to the right direction, and also I guess I ask my husband how big our trailer hitch is, the opening. Yep would like to get in on the free shipping !!

A Chevy Suburban would have a 2 inch receiver hitch with at least a 500 lb capacity. I wasn't able to find a Jazzy 620 online, but I sincerely doubt your chair would come anywhere close to that weight.
We have the Flint Hill Goods 30" x 50" Wheelchair Carrier w/ 48" Ramp - 2" Hitch # FHG77ZR that might be perfect for your needs. The carrier weighs 80 lbs and has an inside dimension of 30 by 50 inches. You'd need to measure the base of the chair to see if it would fit these dimensions. The carrier has a 500 lb weight capacity, which should be plenty.
Ratcheting tie downs like # EM34415 would do a great job of securing the chair to the carrier.
Long story short, if the length and width of the base of your chair is less than 30 x 50, and if its weight plus the 80 lb weight of the carrier I recommended is less than 500 lbs or the capacity of the hitch on your Suburban (which it should be) the # FHG77ZR should be an excellent choice.
