The built-in shock absorbers on these 4 ratcheting straps compensate for the movement of your motorcycle's suspension so that each strap stays tight around the bike, even on rough roads. Soft ties won't scratch your bike. 6,000-lb Max load.

Features:

  • Shock absorbing ratchet straps let you secure your motorcycle to your truck bed or trailer
  • Built-in shocks absorb impact to ensure constant tension, even if your bike shifts
    • Urethane-based material stands up to extreme temperatures, saltwater, moisture, oil, fungi, and most chemicals
  • Ratchet mechanism makes it easy to tighten down each strap and maintains tension on straps
    • Plastic-coated handle and release lever ensure simple, safe operation, even if you're wearing thick gloves
  • Double-J hooks are spot-welded to prevent separation from straps
  • Corrosion-resistant yellow zinc chromate coating on steel hardware holds up to hot, cold, and wet weather conditions
  • Durable polyester webbing is UV resistant and withstands abrasions and water absorption
  • DOT approved

Specs:

  • Ratchet strap dimensions: 2" wide x 9' long
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 2,000 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 6,000 lbs
  • Quantity: 4 ratchet straps
  • 2-Year warranty

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

ShockStrap Motorcycle Tie-Down Kit

This tie-down kit is perfect for strapping down your motorcycle. It includes 4 ratchet straps with built-in shocks to keep the straps tight around your bike so that you won't have to stop and tighten them while traveling.

Unlike traditional straps, which don't stretch or contract, these tie-downs are uniquely designed with built-in shock absorbers that allow the straps to maintain constant tension on your load as you travel. These are great for motorcycles, which have bouncing suspension systems that can compress and rebound when you travel rough terrain.

Built-In Shocks

The webbing of standard straps can't stretch or contract to absorb impacts. As a result, standard tie-downs might become detached from their anchor points, or they may become slack around your bike as it shifts.

Close of up the 2-inch ratchet ShockStrap tie-downs

But these ratchet straps each feature 2 built-in urethane shocks that are designed to absorb impact and to allow give. This ensures that the tie-downs stay taut and won't loosen over time. The built-in shocks help to keep the tie-down from coming loose or failing, which could result in lost or damaged toys.

In addition, the shock ensures a longer life for the strap webbing. The constant compressing and rebounding of your bike's suspension during travel can wreak havoc on ordinary straps. The webbing is likely to experience more wear and tear as it rubs along your gear. But the ShockStrap's shocks absorb these jolts so that the webbing of the tie-downs stays put instead of wearing over the edges of your equipment.

Easy-to-Use Ratchet

Close-up of open ShockStrap ratchet

Each tie-down features a commercial-grade, field-replaceable ratchet that is easy to use. To release the ratchet, grab the oversized handle and pull on the release lever. The release lever is positioned on the outside of the ratchet to ensure safe and easy operation, even if you're wearing gloves.

How to Use the ShockStrap Motorcycle Tie-Down System

Once your motorcycle is in your truck bed or on your trailer, place the front tire of the bike in a wheel chock (sold separately). Placing your toy in a wheel chock helps to hold the bike in position during travel.

Each strap has soft loops built in so that you can tie down your bike without having to worry about the metal hooks or hardware of the straps potentially scratching or scuffing it. To use the soft loops, simply cinch the strap around a secure location on the bike, and run the tie-down's hook through the loop.

There are 4 straps included in this kit - 2 for use on the front of your bike and 2 for use on the rear. Each of the straps should be wrapped around a sturdy part of your bike. At the front, this area would typically be the base of the handlebars or the lower triple clamp. At the rear, you can connect the straps to accessible points on the frame. When you attach the tie-down straps to your truck or trailer, be sure to anchor them so that the bike is pulled down at all 4 corners. Your bike should be upright, not slanted. And the straps should be angled anywhere from 10 degrees to 60 degrees as they stretch from the bike to the anchor points.

Once the hooks are in place, tighten the webbing and activate the shocks. To tighten each strap, crank the ratchet mechanism until the webbing is taut. Tightening the straps will also compress the bike's suspension just enough to maintain tension when you hit bumps on the road. You'll want to compress the suspension about halfway. The tension should be even on both sides to prevent sway and bouncing. Be sure not to overtighten the strap. If your hand cannot fit between the shocks and the safety strap, the strap is too tight.

Next, you'll want to activate the shocks. To do this, just tighten the straps a bit more, stretching the shocks until light is visible through the bolt holes in each shock. In warm climates, the shocks can stretch up to 2", while in subzero climates you may only get about 1/2" of give.

Once the straps have been tightened and the shocks have been activated, just make sure your motorcycle is completely secure and then tie off any extra slack.

Strong, Durable Construction

The sturdy, UV-resistant polyester webbing of these tie-down straps has a high tolerance for abrasion and water absorption.

The shocks are made of urethane, which can withstand elements such as sunlight, saltwater, moisture, oil, fungi, and most chemicals. These shocks also function in nearly any temperature, holding up to hot and cold weather conditions without losing elasticity or becoming unyielding or brittle over time.

Each ratchet strap also features a Grade 8 bolt and nylock nut. The rust-resistant, yellow zinc chromate coating on the buckle and the hooks holds up to the roughest weather conditions. The oversized, 3/8" hooks also feature a protective rubber coating to prevent damaging your bike, truck, or trailer while in transit.

A safety strap is also built into each tie-down to provide peace of mind should something happen to the shocks. This safety strap ensures that if the tie-downs are used improperly, overloaded, or unduly stretched, your bike will remain secured.

They look nice and heavy and made of good quality materials reason for 4 stars I haven’t used them yet

by:

Like everyone else I would go through the efforts of strapping down a utv only to see my ratchet straps hanging off the trailer as I look at my review mirror 10 minutes into my trip. Never again! Used these on a 200 mile round trip down all kinds of roads (freeway, country roads, dirt roads, etc) and never had to adjust or tighten them. A must have.

by:

Very well thought out product. Works well on the front of my BMW K1600GTL. Allows some movement, to minimize road shock, without allowing the bike to loosen up, especially as the Duolever front does not compress the fork spring when strapped down.

by:

Best tie down straps I have ever used. My UTV didn't move an inch. The straps stayed tight the entire trip. Great product!

Excellent best tiedowns I have ever used. UTV doesnt move an onch

by:

Love them except the ratcheting mechanisms sometimes won't release and one already had to be replaced under warranty. When they are tighten down to hold my UTV in the trailer it keeps them from coming loose. The previous straps I used sometimes became slack and allowed the UTV to move around in the trailer. The only complaint is when I pull back on the ratcheting mechanism to release the tension on the straps it doesn't release as it should sometimes.

by:

I liked these so much that I ordered them in several capacities and lengths. We use them to tie down a mobility scooter and the largest to strap our UTV to the trailer. We've hauled that UTV to Idaho and to N. Carolina using shock straps and are very pleased with the results.

by:

These straps are very durable and strong. I am using them in my enclosed trailer for BMW motorcycle and Polaris Ranger for tie downs. Best straps I have ever purchased.

by:

These straps work great when trying to strap down any machine that has shocks that cause the machine to bounce on the trailer or truck bed. They keep the load tight and secure.

by:

I had never heard of a shock absorber strap until I went on the etrailer web site. They worked so slick & there were no rub marks on my quad. My neighbor saw how well they worked & already borrowed them! I hope I get them back! HAH!

by:

These worked well in our toyhauler. They kept tighter over the long term verses regular tie downs. Would buy again

by:

I wish someone would have thought of decades ago. This product works great my four wheeler doesn’t even move when I transferring from location to location. I also use it the straps to haul my riding lawnmower with the same results. I would recommend this product to all of my friends and family.

by:

I received the product on the day they said I would. I used them a few days later to haul my Ranger XP 1000 Crew on a 100 mile round trip. They worked flawlessly and I am very happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a safe way to haul their ATV or side x side. In fact I am going to purchase some more to give to my brother for his birthday. Definite 5 Star rating all the way!!

by:

Great set of tie downs.Going down rough roads they do not loosen up

by:

We did just receive order so unable to write review on items until we use them. However, the items were packaged perfectly and arrived quickly. Talked to a representative via phone after we placed the order and your customer service is wonderful.

by:

I received the product today and after inspection everything was there and received product very fast. I’m only giving four stars as I’ve have not used the straps as of today but quality seems to be superior to other straps I own

by:

Good heavy duty strap, built in shocks keep straps from coming loose and load bouncing around. Good product!!

by:

I haven’t given the product to run through yet but the visual examination and a test of a couple of her lock straps gives me the impression these are very high and straps that are advertised.

by:

eTrailer was very helpful during after hours to find the proper item for my trailer, then they were able to ship it to me quicker than I could blink an eye!

by:

Great idea and time saver. Keeps you from having to retighten all the time.
They don't come loose. Peace of mind while you're driving.

I have been using the straps for a year and really like them. They stay tight with anything I have used them on. I highly recommend them!

by:

Just what I was looking for from recommendation at ATV Utah web site

by:

We first ordered a set of these for our Search and Rescue team for securing a Polaris side by side, I was impressed with the design and workmanship and then ordered a set for myself to secure my race car!

  • Is There a B&W Biker Bar for a Honda Goldwing
I do have an option for you to secure your Honda Goldwing but B&W does not offer a Biker Bar for this bike. Instead, the best option we have for you is the Tow-Rax Removable Wheel Chock part # TWSPWM. The reason that this is the best wheel chock for you, it can be bolted directly to the trailer floor, it will accept different wheels sizes, and there is no interference issues with your front brakes. In order to then secure your Honda Goldwing to the wheel chock I also recommend using the...

The best option I have to secure a Harley Davidson Dyna is the B&W Biker Bar Motorcycle Tie-Down System part # BWMC2302 which bolts to the floor of the trailer and then provides a very quick and secure attachment point. There are no additional tie-down straps or wheel chocks needed and you don't have to get off the bike to lock anything in place, simply drive the bike onto the plate and the auto latch will engage securing the bike. I have some recommendations as the Biker Bar from B&W is specific to Harley and similar chassis vehicles. Your 2021 Indian Challenger has a much different frame and will not work on the Biker Bar system. Instead you should use a Flint Hill Goods Adjustable Wheel Chock # FHG37ZR along with the ShockStrap Ratchet Motorcycle Tie-Downs # 297-9RSBB-M. The wheel chock is adjustable and will fit wheels 17" to 21" and tires 3-1/8" to 7-1/8" wide. It will help to hold your Indian in position while...
