Will the Flint Hill Goods 30x50 Cargo Carrier with Ramp Fit on a 2013 Mazda CX-9

Question:

Since the VA estimates that it will be three years before they process my claim, I need to purchase a carrier outright. I am trying to carry my Jazzy Select 6 150lbs on the back of a 2013 mazda cx9. I would prefer the rack/ramp to be able to fold up a bit when not in use. I also am clueless other than I know I need a hitch, as well as ball, etc....though I dCargo carrier with 48 in ramp 2f inch hitch 500lb carrying capacity, but Im not sure whether that would work on my vehicle, or if it would if its one that would make Tim Allen from Home Improvement snort, a case of overdoing it. etc etc. Please help! Thank You in Advance.

I want to start by thanking you for your service. Now as far as the wheelchair carrier is concerned, the Flint Hill Goods 30x50 Cargo Carrier, # FHG77ZR, is an excellent option for your Jazzy Select 6 and your 2013 Mazda CX-9 as long as you have a Class III, 2-inch trailer hitch installed like part # 13575.

In fact, we had someone out on our lot recently with this carrier and a very similar mobility scooter on the back of a minivan and they were very happy with the setup. This would get the Al Borland seal of approval.

According to your owner's manual, your CX-9 has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, so the weight of your scooter (150 lbs) and the weight of the carrier (80lbs) will be under your maximum tongue weight capacity by over 100 lbs.

If you will need straps, I recommend the Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps, # EM34415, because they are a high-quality option that doesn't break the bank with easy to use features such as retractable straps and a ratchet release push button.

I have attached review videos of the Flint Hill Goods carrier and the straps for you to check out.
