Upright Hitch Mounted Kayak Carrier for 2016 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab

Question:

I have a 2016 Chevrolet Sliverado crew cab. I was looking at the Thule goal post to carry two kayaks. Max width is 58. I noticed all other roof rack were more expensive then the DTA944-968-924 carrier. Do you have any suggestions on a single roof rack. Do you also recommend an additional cradle or just the foam blocks. Thanks,

The price of the Darby Extend a Truck Kayak Carrier part # DTA944-968-924 is basically impossible to beat. For what you are getting for the price it's a tough option not to go with. However, it does use a universal crossbar that wouldn't be quite as secure as a custom roof rack. The crossbar wouldn't go anywhere once installed. But the connection would not be nearly as solid.

For similar additional foam blocks to carry more kayaks you would want the part # MPG158 as well.

For lighter duty ratchet straps to secure the kayaks to the system you would want the part # EM34415.
