Who do I contact about getting the right extension bar? The one I ordered Is a 2 1/2 inch which I need a 2 inch to slide into my receiver or if you guys have a 10 to 12 inch, 2 inch extension so I can connect it I sent a photo of the end that is 2 1/2 which I need it to be 2 inches to slide into my receiver

I do have an extender that will work for you. It is part # C45796, however is 18 inches long. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you to send over return instructions.

by:

Received the product on time and as described however two days later I found it on Amazon for $167 vs the $XXX I paid from
etrailer. When I called to see about a price adjustment - they couldn’t assist and offered return and re-purchase from Amazon - minus a $XX return shipping. Lesson learned.

by:

I recently swapped out the stock 2" receiver for a 2-1/2" to allow me to purchase and use this extension to get past the end of my Lance 1010 Camper. I believe I will have no issues now towing any trailer (within allowable spec's) or carrying my motorcycle carrier. Great quality piece. can't wait to try it out...

Excellent! After a year of use still happy I purchased this product...Had to cut it to match the length of my campers overhang but it is perfect now....

by:

Love it! I don't have a slide in camper or truck attachments. I simply purchased to increase turn radius and how much I can cut the trailer before jack knifing, works great for tight spots.

by:

only using for bike rack with my Truck Camper. Great fit and exactly what we needed.

by:

works as expected, i was worried about trailer sway with the hitch having some wobble, but pulled up to 70 just fine. I like the fact that i dont have to use the factory adaptor on the receiver.

by:

This worked out great for my trip from Minnesota to Montana and back, wouldn’t have been able to do it without it

by:

Works nicely with my 19ft lund boat and a 10.5 ft camper on the truck. More solid than I thought it would be. I use it full length. Works great.

by:

Great service, price and prompt delivery. Hopefully will help immensely with getting my boat off of the trailer during winter drawdowns like the picture.

by:

Great extension just had to cut off about an inch to fit it on my truck. I did not receive the pin for it.

by:

Excellent product. Easy to use. I recommend finding someone with a metal band saw to cut to length. I cut mine with a sawzaw metal blade and finished it with a high grit sanding disc and it turned out ok- not perfect. I towed my boat behind my truck with the camper on it and it worked good. I’ve also attached my motorcycle rack with my 2013 ktm 450. To be on the safe side calculate your tounge weight before towing.

by:

Exactly as described and I custom tethered it to the camper bumper for more stability. I did have to drill out the pin hole a little as it did not line up 100% to get the pin inserted, but it is going to work very well.

by:

Super happy with etrailer who helped me select this hitch based on my needs. It’s perfect for me. Very solid, well made hitch extension. Packaged appropriately and protected. The paint on this hitch is awesome. Only flub is the end of the hitch needed to be trimmed. My F250 spare tire got in the way of the back length of the tubing, so I had to cut off about 1/2”to clear the tire. Otherwise it looks great and operates as expected. Good price point too. Thank you for all your help etrailer !

by:

Product is heavy duty, and, tho I haven't used it yet, I expect great results like previous reviewers. Price was good and customer service dealt quickly and favorably on a small issue I had.
I did have to cut 1 1:2 inches off to make it fit in front of my spare, but that was no surprise because I read that other buyers had dealt with the same issue. Chevy/GMC trucks spare tires get in the way a bit. Very satisfied. Have bought from etrailer in the past and don't think they can be beat. Thanks to Caleb for his help.

Really well. I just used it to tow my boat halfway across Washington behind my pickup camper and it worked great. I’ve used it several times now and am very happy with what it allows me to do.

by:

Great product, worked out perfect for extending passed the cab over camper.

by:

Gave it 4 stars because I have never owned one before so I have nothing to compare it to. It works good, really seems to ground the truck. I have a Ford F250 superduty crew cab with a 8 1/2 ft Lance light camper that sticks almost 2' past the bumper and I pull a 18' open trailer with a race car on it.

by:

CURT C45048 HITCH EXTENSION I drive a 2011 GMC 3500HD with an S&S 9.5 slide in camper. I needed an extension to be able to tow my boat behind the truck/camper. I saw this extension was on sale w/free shipping. I ordered on Sunday 9/10 and received it on Wednesday 9/13. The extension looks very heavy duty and it slipped right inside my vehicle receiver. The extension protrudes about 4" past the camper bumper. PERFECT!
All of the welds look like quality welds. I just need to mount my trailer harness and I will be ready to go! Great service, great prices & delivery!

The hitch extender is still doing a fantastic job! Very happy I purchased this product.

by:

Packaging was very poor, 32" extension hitch just thrown in a box. No projective packaging around it. Paint chipped off reciver end. Box taped up in areas that were damaged. Extension plug completely out of clam shell packaging, not damaged luckily. Seriously, you need to do a much better job of wrapping and protecting parts.
Very disappointed.

I am very sorry that the hitch extender arrived with paint damage. I will have our customer service team reach out to you. I recommend using a rust resistant paint like Rustoleum to touch up the affected areas to help protect against corrosion.

by:

This product works great however I would not go over the weight limit. I try to stay well below it remember it's not a super truss.

by:

This extender works great with our 2019 Ford F350 when using our 9'6" truck camper so we can use our bike rack or tow a trailer. Nice product, great etrailer selection and info once again!

Great!

by:

Absolutely the correct product for my needs. This fit perfectly beneath my Lance truck camper enabling me to haul a 16 foot trailer behind. All the holes matched up to my Dodge RAM 3500 receiver, and because the full length was necessary, no cutting was required. This was, by far, the least expensive bar at this length. Delivery was fast. I have no complaints--only good things to say. Thanks.

This product continues to be a valuable item. It is very durable.

by:

mostly impressed with short shipping time and the sturdy box it came in

by:

Great fit no alterations necessary to fit my HD 3500 standard bed.

by:

Used with my new slide-in truck camper while pulling a cargo trailer. Worked well no problems with the product.

Works great, just as expected.

by:

Does what it's supposed to. I got it to tow my 3000lb boat when I have my pickup camper on. With this I don't have to crawl under the camper to hook up the boat. I did a 1600 mile round trip a few weeks ago with no problems.

  • Availability of Hitch Extender that Can Give 24 inches to Clear Tailgate When Towing Trailer
We have a Curt hitch extension part # C45048 which can be cut down to 24 inches like you'd need. But you'd need to have a 2-1/2 inch hitch installed on your vehicle. It looks like you have a 2008 Ford F-250 or 350 so if that were the case you'd need the part # C15810 for a hitch that's a fit for the vehicle and compatible with the extension.

  • Hitch Extension Recommendation that Can Fit 2017 Ford F-350 with 2-1/2 inch Hitch
Since the Reese Titan extension part # RP45292 can only be used in Reese Titan hitches per their warranty and fit recommendations the only solution you have is the Curt part # C45048 which will fit all 2-1/2 inch hitches like your Ford truck has. Aside from having a much better price the Curt will function the exact same as the Reese for all intents and purposes.

Yes you can use the Curt hitch extension part # C45048 with your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 but you'd need to have a 2-1/2 inch hitch installed on the truck as well like the Curt # C15860 and you'd be set.

I do have a solution for you but unfortunately we don't have any hitch extenders that fit the 3" receiver on your 2017 Ford F-350 and are at least 24" long. What you could do is use the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves # C45408 to go from 3" to 2-1/2" and then utilize the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer # C45048 which goes from 2-1/2" to 2".
