Video Transcript for Review of TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Complete Truck Camper Stand - TLA7012

Hello everybody. This is Jeff with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this TorkLift Camper Packer Camper Stand Kit with the included lumber. Now this will easily and safely store your truck bed camper by using this kit to build a nice sturdy stand. And pair the supply brackets right here, with the included two by six size lumber. And as you can see it creates nice two sawhorse type supports.

Basically this camper stand will help support your truck bed camper when it's in storage. And what's nice about it'll prevent any camper frame damage by redistributing the stress off the four corners of the camper frame and onto this stand. It helps extend the life of your jacks by dramatically reducing wear and stress. Basically what you end up doing is taking these two sturdy trusses put 'em beneath your camper. It supports its weight when it's removed from your truck bed.

The weight capacity on this is 6,000 lbs per pair of stands. This will give you a nice, safe, short and long term storage solution. And this kit will include everything shown here. Now we've attached this. When you do get this kit, you would have to put it together.

Comes with a nice set of instructions. But it is very simple to do. We've already assembled it. Just to give you an idea what it looks like. This kit will include these leg brackets right here.

With the pins and the clips that hold it in place. It includes the foot plates right down there at the bottom. The foot plates come with the chains. You can see at the very bottom, they have a chain, and then quick links between the legs there. And it comes with all the hardware for attaching the lumber to the brackets. Now the lumber that's included, it'll come with these two 50 inch long two by six pieces of wood to create these support beams. And it'll come with eight, you can see, of the 30-inch long two by six pieces of wood for the legs. And what's nice about this that is designed to fold up for compact storage when not in use. What you would do is take out the pin and clip on this side just like that, and take out the pin and clip right over here. And then hook with those out, you can see this beam right here is not really attached any other way. You can just lift this up and then lift that end up and remove this whole support beam. And then these two legs would fold up in position, and you could store 'em away. So it comes apart pretty easy. And then when you go to put it back in, just open those up, slide your support beam down there, lines your hole up with your pins, and then just slide your pins right back through there. Put it in there, just like that. And you can see your pin go all the way through, and then you clip it on the other side and you'll do the same on that end. Now these brackets are powder coated steel brackets that resist corrosion. Now the dimensions on these supports when they're assembled just like that with the lumber in them, the overall height from the floor up to the very top is gonna be 35 inches tall. The width on the support being up there is 50 inches long. Now you can get this kit also with just the brackets and you could supply your own lumber. And we do sell that separately on the website. It's part number TLA7010. But that should do it for the review TorkLift Camper Packer Camper Stand Kit with the included lumber..

Finally something rugged. The other products I've seen may be OK with a light camper, but I've got a fiberglass Bigfoot. This is the only sawhorse I'd use!

It’s still holing up just fine

by:

The package you sent to me was missing several items required to complete assembly of the purchased item. I had to return the entire shipment and order it elsewhere.

by:

Poor quality control!! Items sent were missing a board and one was too short. Have to take valuable time to go 40 minutes to store to purchase correct items!!! I would appreciate some refund.

It is disappointing that it is missing a board along with an incorrectly sized board. I will have customer service reach out to you.

by:

Only 1 piece missing, minimal. Everything arrived without damage, even wood. Thought wood would be predrilled for that price. I was wrong. Still holding up truck camper without breaking, a large Lance 1172!! Trying to save my legs when I need them while camping, not in storage.

by:

Put about 90% of the weight on these. They handle it and 100% of the weight fine. Pricey, but took the advice of people who know wood. Definitely the right stuff, well made.

Horses worked very well thru the winter. In combination with the jacks unit is stable for the winter rest.

by:

Quality product. Great customer service. Fast shipping. I have a Lance 1172 sitting on these camper packer. Dry weight is about 4300 pounds. Stands up to what we put on them. Would recommend sel!er.

by:

I have ordered from trailer multiple times and have worked with the customer service line to solve problems, they have always been knowledgeable and helpful.
Great company!

by:

Brackets are nice but as stated before don’t buy the lumber. They sent me two split pieces of wood. Definitely way over priced For the wood!

TorkLift Camper Packer Camper Stand Kit without the lumber is part # TLA7010.

by:

These have been under my Lance 2004 1161 or stored outside in the weather for a year. These show little wear and are working as advertised. No issues holding the ~3500 lb dry weight of the 1161.

by:

They worked out great.

by:

Worked as it should

by:

Thank you very much

Took about an hour to put everything together. Everything is working as it should. But like another has commented. Torklift really puts zero effort into their instruction manuals. I have both The tiedowns and the camper packer from torklift and both have really poor manuals. Granted it’s fairly simple. But still. Could do with some improvements. Other than that it’s worked for 24hrs as of now.

by:

Nice, sturdy, but could be a bit longer as it's a close fit to put under trailer and about 1/4" on either side and starting to "Bend" at the edge so could be an inch longer on each side to help support it. Otherwise, works well but does need so work to set it up. Home Depot precut the wood and would add 2" (l" each side) to the cross beam. Truck camper, Arctic Fox 990

by:

Product quality is excellent. Assembly instructions are not written well and the diagram and pictures are almost worthless. They should also add a note saying the legs do not need to be 30" long, but to adjust the length for your individual application. I took 10" off each leg so the first step of my camper is 8" off the ground vice 18".

by:

With the addition of $27 worth of treated 2"x 6" lumber, my camper is very stable in storage. Torklift makes high quality stuff. Take the time to make the 22 degree cuts at the bottom of the vertical 2x6s, that way they fit really nicely into the feet.

by:

The brackets internal measurements for the a-frame (vertical) pieces are 5.78"x1.66", this makes for a very loose fit with 2x6 lumber because the actual dimensions of a 2x6 are 1.5x5.5. The camper is not stable side to side because of this loose fit. Using snug fit lumber might not even make it stable either. In the photos in the item description it looks like the lumber is snug. If they use special sized lumber for these brackets they need to make it very clear in the instructions and item description regarding the actual dimensions. I used 2x6 Con Com Redwood S4S Untreated Dimensional Lumber sealed with Thompsons water seal (shown in the video). I wish I had bought the McCoy tools sawhorse brackets instead they would have much better side to side stability and they are cheaper too, unfortunately they are not available right now. I am going to try installing a cross piece between the two a-frames to give it more stability.

by:

Expensive but after assembly and usage these are worth every penny.
