Video Transcript for TorkLift Wiring Harness Extensions For SuperTruss Hitch Extenders Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Torque lift line of wiring harness extensions for use with the super truck hitch extenders. These are available in several different lengths. Just depending on how long that hitch extender that you're using is going to be. This is Torque's Lifts 36" extension that matches their 36" super stress. If you're going with the longer super truss, get the longer. If you're going with the shorter, get the shorter. Really a nice option to where you can plug it right into the back of your vehicle, bring your power down to where it's right here, readily available and accessible for you to get to. What we're going to do is take our, what looks like a trailer plug end, we're going to pass it through our bracket.

It's just flexible enough we can kind of bend that bracket so allow it to come through. Then here's what we want, that's our 7 pole connector. We're going to be bale to hook our trailer up right here. We've got the nice safety chain connections there an then also our wiring connection. Slide that in.

We're pass our screw through the face there and then just put our nuts on the back. Now, the hardware's not provided so you'll need some hardware to pass through there. You can see our bracket's kind of got the oblong holes to make it to where it'll fit a lot of different style harnesses. I'm going to put a flat washer on to give our nut a good surface to bite to when we tighten it down. Now we can go ahead and tighten those down as well. At that point, we're mounted on, got a nice secure connection point.

We can basically just plug this right into the back of our truck. You don't want this to be hanging down underneath our hitch where it might drag or something like that. That will complete today's look at the Torque Lift wiring harness extensions for the super truck hitch extender.

The wiring harness will not fit through the hole on the receiver extension. I had to unwire it and reassemble one end. I also expected there to be screws and nuts with the product.
It now fits and looks good.

Thanks

Excellent extension cord durable

by:

No issues with my 2018 GMC. My only complaint is that you have to disassemble the plug to be able to mount it to the hitch extender.

by:

I am glad they sell all the parts and pieces to make it a one stop shop. This wasn't worth building from scratch for myself.

by:

This part arrived on schedule and is the icing on the cake. Very easy to assemble and install. Length is perfect. Now I only need the trailer.

by:

Item failed and I had to get a new one one the road from Amazon. Would not recommend product.

The harness is working well after a year of use.

by:

Bought this for my Dodge Ram 2500 to pull 25’ boat to show in TN last year and have my truck camper on my truck. Worked way better than I expected. Also bought wiring harness. Very pleased.

by:

eTrailer has got their act together. This extension was not available elsewhere and fits the bill precisely. It arrived in two days as promised and customer service was exceptional. I've dealt with them before on an intricate adaptor/brake controller that matched the manufacturers parts precisely. Good job eTrailer!

by:

I purchased this to use with a 36" supertruss extension. It's the perfect length. They only complaint I had was that there wasn't any mounting hardware to mount the end of the cord to the extension.

  • TorkLift 36 Inch Hitch Extender for Ford Factory 3 Inch Receiver Hitch
I am a bit confused, because I was under the impression that Ford didn't begin offering the 3 inch hitch until the 2017 model year. As long as the hitch on your 2016 Ford truck is the 3 inch factory receiver, the Torklift # TLE1636 will be compatible. if you need an extension for the 7-way trailer connector, use part # TLW6036.

  • 7-Way Extension for Use with 36 Inch SuperTruss Extension
To extend the 7-Way trailer connector out from the back of your truck to the mount on the SuperTruss extension I recommend # TLW6036 which is 36 inches long. Then you could use the Flexo-Coil kit # RM-146-7 like normal.

  • Can The TorkLift 36" SuperTruss Hitch Extension Be Used With Dual Hitch Reciever On a 2017 Ram 3500?
The TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1536 is only to be used with TorkLift SuperHitch dual-receiver trailer hitches. It will not fit into the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2 as the Torklift only has approximately 3/4" between the receiver tubes. You will need either the SuperHitch Original # TLD1108 or SuperHitch Magnum # TLD1108-30 to be able to use the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1536 on your 2017 Ram 3500. You will also need the TorkLift Wiring...

  • Torklift Camper Tie Downs for 2021 Ford Super Duty with 8 foot Bed
For a set of Torklift tie downs that fit your 2021 Ford F-350 long bed you'd want the part numbers # TLF2021 and # TLF3008 which are custom fit. For a rubber mat that fits your bed you'd then want the Westin part number # 50-6415. For a 7-way extension we have a few options like the part # TLW6024 which is 24 inches long, part # TLW6036 which is 36 inches long, and part # TLW6042 which is 42 inches long.

  • Recommended Extension for 2000 Dodge 2500 with Camper to Use Weight Distribution System on Trailer
To use a weight distribution system like the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control # RP66083 along with a truck bed camper, you will need a compatible trailer hitch receiver and an extension rated for weight distribution. If you have a 2-1/2 inch hitch receiver on your 2000 Dodge 2500, then you can use the Reese Titan Hitch Box Extension for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches, 24" - 34" Long # RP45292 or the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches - 24" to 34"...

  • Does TorkLift TLW6036 Wire Extension Need Disassembly to Install on Bracket of Cannon Hitch Extender
In order to use the # TLW6036 wiring extension, you'll feed the vehicle side connector through the bracket as demonstrated beginning at the :30 mark in the linked video. As Randy mentions in the video, you'll need to slightly bend the bracket by hand in order to finesse the connector through the bracket. You won't need to disassemble the harness. The harness doesn't include the hardware to mount the 7-way connector to the bracket, so you'll need to source that locally.

  • Recommended Hitch Extender for a 3 Inch Hitch Receiver
You don't need to change out your hitch. Since your 2020 Ford F-350 has the 3" receiver you can use the 36" TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension item # TLE1636. This extension was designed specifically for the 3" receivers that come on the newer Ford trucks. I recommend using the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension for 36" item # TLW6036. It's an extension cord for your 7-way connector. It makes hooking up to your trailer easier.

If a shorter extension will suffice you might use the 28-inch TorkLift # TLW6028, 36-inch # TLW6036 or 48-inch # TLW6048. • Does 36" SuperTruss Extension Need TorkLift Hitch on 2018 GMC Sierra 3500
You will need to use the TorkLift trailer hitch on your 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 in order to use the SuperTruss 36" Extension # TLE1536. The reason for that is the extension is designed to fit the dual receivers of the SuperHitch as opposed to the single receiver of the OEM hitch on your Sierra. You can also choose from a SuperHitch with dual 2" receivers or with a 2-1/2" and 2" receiver, with the extension fitting either. • How To Use a 3 Foot Long Hitch Extender On a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 While Towing
I do have an option for you but in order to carry that much weight on a hitch extender you will have to use a dual receiver tube setup. The most cost effective option we have for this is the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1102 as this will then allow you to use the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension part # TLE1536 which is the only extender available that will allow you to carry this much weight. • Recommended 24 Inch Hitch Extender for a 3 Inch Receiver
I have a hitch extension that will work with a weight distribution system but it is 24" long and there aren't any shorter ones. First you are going to have to use the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve item # C85JR to get your 3" receiver down to a 2-1/2"one. Then you will want the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer item # C45048. It comes in a 34" extension but you can trim it down to 24". • How to Pick Out 7-Way Extension When Using Curt Hitch Extender C45048
When using the Curt hitch extension part # C45048 that you referenced at the 34 inch length to pick the correct Torklift 7-way extension really depends on the length of the 7-way harness on your trailer. If it's one that would be pulled tight if it was extended at all past the coupler then I'd recommend going with the longer version part # TLW6036. If your trailer has a connector that has more than enough length you'd want the shorter version part # TLW6028. Basically you want to make...

A big part of your problem is that the Tekonsha Prodigy RF is designed to be mounted to your trailer. If they were going to use a wireless brake controller and mount it to your vehicle it should have been the Curt Echo # C51180 which simply plugs in-line with your vehicle 7-way.
