Video Transcript for Ventline Smoke Plastic Enclosed Trailer Vent Cover Installation

Today on this enclosed trailer, were going to install part number BV0554-03 from Ventline. This is a Ventline rounded dome in a smoke color. To start off well go ahead and remove the trim panel at the very bottom. Next well go ahead and remove the screen and also the crank handle as well. Once we have those parts away, well go ahead and reinstall the handle temporarily and raise the lid up, so we can remove it easily. Now well go ahead and then unscrew the crank assembly from the crossbar and then we can go ahead and release it from the lid.

Well slide the arm down towards an open slot at the bottom and then we can go ahead and release it. We got completely loose from the crank, now well go up top and go ahead and remove it from the vent. Well go ahead and open it up and you can see theres a small tab on the inside edge of the hinge and usually these are twisted to the inside, so we just have to untwist it and then it can slide it off. Now we can go ahead and slide on our new vent cover and then basically reinstall it in reverse order. Well go ahead and put our crank assembly up into place and line up the arm with the vent dome, put it into track and then well go ahead and reinstall the crank arm to the vent.

Then we can reinstall our screen and then our trim ring around the edge. In just a few steps the old one has been removed and our new one has been installed. Thatll finish it for part number BV0554-03 on this inclosed trailer. .

Replacement smoke colored vent cover for Ventline old-style rounded dome trailer roof vents.

My experience with etrailer could not have been better. Their online catalog had very good pictures and product description, so I was confident the I was ordering the right item for my application. Pricing was competitive. George J emailed me after I placed the order to let me know he upgraded my shipping so I could get the product sooner. The vent covers came well packaged and undamaged. Now I need to install them on my vintage 1964 Airstream Overlander, which I bought several years ago and rehabilitated. The white plastic vent covers I installed several years ago became brittle and crumbled. I hope the smoke colored ones I bought from etrailer will last a bit longer, but the price was so fair I bought an extra pair for the next time.

So far so good!

The roof vents that I purchased was exactly what I needed! The shipping was fast. I installed them myself yesterday and it was pretty simple! I have purchased from etrailer.com before and have been very pleased with my purchases! Thank you!

@Debbie Awesome, that's great to hear!

Just what I ordered and expected. Perfect replacement

by:

Called to get help ordering the vent cover to make sure I ordered the right part. Hally was extremely helpful. Got the part quickly. Hally had shown me where to go to watch an installation video. After watching it, installation was very easy. Pictures show the before and after. Thanks!

by:

Quick simple fix to replace a vent cover lost to the weather. Installation took less than 5 minutes, product fits like the original. William B. made finding and ordering the right part a breeze.

by:

Great quality part that fits great. This cover lets in more light than the original one on my Rockwood trailer which I like. Install was easy after watching the video on Etrailer.

I have a 16ft 1972 Brougham travel trailer, and my old vent lid disintegrated.I wasn't sure which vent lid to get.I measured the square hole on the roof and it is 13 inches square. I also needed to be sure of the hinge. The hinge portion on the vent cover is 9 inches. After I removed the screws from the vent lid raising mechanism, and disconnected it from the vent lid rail,I went up top,and opened up one side of the rolled metal hinge. Then the roof vent lid slides off to one side. Then you just slide the new roof vent lid onto the hinge, and bend down the tab to secure it.You then reattach the mechanism inside the trailer. Its actually very easy to do,with just a Phillips and straight slot screwdriver. I attached photos of what remained after my lid was blown off completely which shows the hinge and lifting rail that come with a new roof vent cover attached.I also showed a close up of the hinge and the little tab that is bent in on both sides to keep the lid from sliding sideways. Finally I have pics of the new lid installed.I was happy with this product, and didn't realize you could just replace the vent lid so easily.

by:

fast service looks like OEM replacement, easy install

by:

The vent cover is a quality replacement almost identical to the OEM on 2018 Windjammer. The OEM had severe ultraviolet deterioration and had a crack in the top center area and a possible hail damage on an outer edge outside of the seal. Had not leaked inside yet! We will see if this one will last any longer than the OEM’s 3 - 4 years.

One year later vent is doing it’s job. No failure.

by:

eTrailer is an amazing company to work with. They are extremely helpful when it comes to finding the part you need, and then when the part arrives … their installation videos make the process so easy to complete!

by:

I bought a new set of the smoke vent covers to replace the same vent covers purchased 8 years ago. Trailer has been sitting for 4 years and didn't want to have a problem with them on our trip next week, so I purchased these as preventative maintenance since the trailer has been sitting in the sun for all of that time. For some reason the smoke covers have had a considerably longer life compared to the white ones which for me only lasted 2 years. Standard shipping was fast, and the vent covers were well packaged. Will buy from etrailer again!

by:

This is just what I was looking for. It only took a few minutes to assemble and put on my Airstream camper, and it looks so good.
The price was great and very fast shipping. I will bookmark your website and buy from you again when the need arises. Thank you very much.

by:

All of my orders over the past few years have been reasonably priced and of good quality. I am totally satisfied with the quick delivery and options for shipping.

by:

Already installed, so easy to replace. Exact fit.

by:

Fits perfectly easy to install

by:

Fits a 2016 Forest River Wolf Pup just right and wasn't too difficult to change out. Thanks!

by:

Replaced two weather beaten, cracked vents. Easy installation just follow the directions. Took about 10 minutes each looks better then the old white ones.

by:

Purchased this vent replacement a year ago and it’s working great and holding up to the weather.

by:

Love dealing with e-trailer always the right parts at a fair price and great customer service over the phone.

by:

perfect fit holding up supper good no issues - good durable quality

by:

I will faithfully give your Company my business I just hope it is not too frequent. Long story short the part worked just as it should. I also need to order a new hand crank because the a one is defective.

by:

Great product and fits perfectly on my 2007 Keystone Raptor 3612DS Toy Hauler.

Vent has been excellent! Even after cooking in the Florida sun for 2 months of summer and then the north Georgia cold winters with ice and a little snow!

I have an older Car Mate car trailer. The roofvent was very bad. I wasn’t sure about being able to get an exact replacement. Measurements were the same, so I ordered one. It arrived within a few days. I was able to install it in a few minutes. The crank open still works great and no more leaks. I highly recommend this product and also etrailer, as I have purchased other perfect fitting parts from them. ….Mark

  • Replacement Vent Cover with a Continuous Hinge Needed
The item you are looking for is know as a continuous hinge vent cover. I suggest either # BV0554-03, that is a replacement cover for a 14-1/4 by 14-1/4 inch vent in smoke. Or, the # BV0554-01, in white. I do suggest that you verify the dimensions of your vent before ordering to ensure that the 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" is correct size.

  • Replacement Roof Vent Cover for Fantastic Vent 8000R
I do have a solution for you, but I don't have information with any certainty as to what type of hinge the Fantastic Vent 8000R uses. However, most newer fan vents that are 14-1/2" x 14-1/2" will use a continuous hinge, so the correct replacement roof vent cover for you should be part # BV0554-01 for white or part # BV0554-03 for smoke. I've linked a photo that shows the different types of hinges that you might find; if you have something different on your Fantastic Vent then just let...

  • Replacement Vent Cover for Ventline Old-Style Rounded Dome Trailer Roof Vents
The best way to go about this is to determine what you currently have on your 2011 Forest River Sunseeker Motorhome. Is the manufacturer listed on the current vent? The most common size used by OEM's in recent years is the 14-1/4" by 14-1/4" but please verify this on your specific model. If there is a rolled metal hinge attached to the vent cover like on the Ventline Replacement Smoke Dome Assembly, # BV0554-03 then I would select this.

Most standard vents are 14-1/4 by 14-1/4 inches wide, 14 x 14 inches wide or 13 x 14 inches wide. Next if the manufacturer name is on the vent that will help. • Replacement Roof Vent Lid for Avion 5th Wheel 1993
Thanks for the picture of the roof vent assembly you need a replacement lid for. Based on that you'd need Ventline Old Style Rounded Dome Trailer Roof Vents - White # BV0554-01 or Smoke # BV0554-03. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. The larger hole size you mentioned that is over 21 inches doesn't quite match the pictures though so if you have a second roof vent that's longer we wouldn't have a solution.

Sounds like the vent cover you need is the replacement for Ventline Old-Style Rounded Dome Trailer Roof Vents which comes in Smoke # BV0554-03 as well as White # BV0554-01. These have the continuous hinge and fit the standard 14" x 14" vents.
