Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a brief look at this replacement dome seal for the Ventline Ventadome trailer roof vents. This seal is going to keep water from entering between your dome and the base when your vent is closed. And this seal, as you can see, has a flexible design. It feels very durable.
And this is going to work with Ventline vents manufactured after 2008. And this is also going to fit older style Ventline roof vents as long as it has a rounded dome. This seal will work with metal flanges. And this is made here in the USA and you're going to receive this one seal. And it's 52 inches long and it's 3/8 of an inch thick.
And I did want to point out briefly, at the bottom of the seal, it has a split design, as you can see. This is the portion that's going to get pushed down onto your vent. So, when you're replacing your seal, this portion right here is going to get pushed onto your vent lip and the seal's going to push right on. I do wanna recommend using a few dots of silicone sealant. That is going to help ensure that this seal stays in place.

While replacing the vent dome on our camper I wanted to go ahead and replace the seal. The original was brittle and dry rotted. This replacement was easy to install without any issues.
Thanks for etrailer's willingness to answer my questions. The BV0554-01 was the perfect replacement for the dome that was on my trailer even though the dimensions of my opening were 13" x 13" not the 14" x 14" as your web paged suggested. The dome was exactly like the original equipment one on my trailer that cracked.
I ordered the white one even though there was a question in my mind whether it would let enough light in. I was tempted to order the smoked one. The white one lets in plenty of light. Frankly I am not sure that the smoked one would allow more light in.
The new dome was easily installed. I think mine is probably missing some sort of a nylon roller on the crank arm. At any rate, I did not have to remove the screen and the crank assembly to replace the dome. I simply opened the dome all the way and was easily able to adjust the dome and pop out the crank arm. Maybe not having the nylon roller allowed me to do that, I don't know. Sliding the old dome hinge out was simple and sliding in the new one was equally easy. I also replaced the dome gasket (BVD0455-01) that was dried out and cracked. That was also easy, but was a little more tedious sliding it around the curves. In total the repair took less than 10 minutes.
All in all, my etrailer experience was excellent. They quickly answered my questions. In fact Jameson Clark responded to my questions at 7:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve. I was amazed. Give this guy a raise. He understands what excellent customer service is. Thank you Jameson.
I ordered the dome and the gasket on Tuesday Jan. 5. They shipped it out on the same day. I did not pay for expedited shipping but instead opted for economy shipping. the order arrived on Saturday Jan 9. I recommend etrailer. I will surely use them again.
This will be the second time in six years that I have replaced this gasket. Removal and installation are straight forward. I have experienced that this product actually shrinks a little bit. I would like to see a small squeeze tube of some sort of adhesive to help keep the gasket where it is installed.
They the part I needed at a reasonable price and it was delivered on time.
I mentioned the seal with my previous review of the dome.
While replacing 3 dome vents, I ordered 3 gaskets at $XX each, today, I stopped by my local rv parts store and they had the EXACT same gaskets for $XX.XX,not $XX.XX. You know that feeling that you REALLY got screwed! Same thing for the domestic, they were $XX.XX each, not $XX each. If I weren't going to use my trailer, I would return them and save $XXX!
Gaskets for roof vent arrived quickly and in good shape. As always!

Awesome product
As usual, etrailer shipped my order in in very timely manner and the Dome Seal for my Ventline Roof Vents was exactly as described on their web site. The hardest part of installation was removing the old, brittle seal. Other than that, the install was a very easy.

Dome seal is working great!
Purchased the camper trailer roof vents and the dome seal from Etrailer and these are great parts, no problem at all with these parts and easy to put on. I recommend etrailer for all your parts. Delivery was great also.

Fast delivery and simple to install. Tiny rib on side goes to the outside as per the etrailer instructions. Did 3 vents in about 15 min., off with the old and on with the new. Trimmed about 1/4 to 3/8 inch off each length for a good fit with scissors.

Expect them to last years.
The product was exactly what I needed. A little extra length on the seal made for a perfect fit. I took the time to completely clean the old sealant from the metal flashing using a dremel tool wire wheel. I applied sealant while installing the new seal, took my time on the corners, didn't have to stretch it at all. My old seal had pulled away from the rounded corner. The Vent is now water tight, and looks great.
Excellent product, fit perfectly and was shipped quickly. etrailer gets an A+.

The vent seal has been installed for a year now, Thru the rain and blazing sunshine. It still looks and works great! No leaks, No discoloration, and no shrinkage. Thanks again for the great product, and customer service!
The replacement seal for my roof vent fit very well. It was about one half inch too long (which is a good thing) so I just cut it to fit. I used several small dabs of sealer to assure it says put. Both roof vents now seal shut very well. Thanks

The seal for the Ventline roof vent is still working fine after 50 inches of Florida rain.
Works perfect! Excellent price. Being a first time rv owner and not knowing much of rv's. i went to my local rv supply store and was told i had to replace the whole vent. I said, all i need is the gasket on the top edge, again i was told to change the whole vent. Well, $90 in parts, new vent, gasket material, roof patch, etc, i replaced the roof vent. When checking the other 4 roof vents the gaskets were gone on them too. I was not going to replace anymore vents! After an extensive search on the internet i found this product. Thats the last time i go to the local rv store and being taken advantage of. Rv forums are a great place to gain knowledge of repairs imo.
This was a new waterproof gasket for the vent/skylight in our trailer. It was a little wider than the original. I used weather stripping automotive glue (like a thick contact cement) on the metal lip of the vent and waited until it was tacky and then carefully pressed the new gasket on the metal lip, trimming the length to fit flush--end-to-end for the gasket. This provided a new gasket all the way around the metal flange/opening. After 24 hours the glue was firm, flexible and waterproof. It held the gasket on well and the vent/skylight never did leak.
Latest purchase was replacement vent and dome seal for my closed cargo trailer. It was correct style and size. However my existing crank up support arm would not slide in the channel on the new dome. Therefore I had to file the slot larger which was not a major problem, more of an inconvenience. It works fine now and I am satisfied with the final installation and result. Have been using it with no further problem. Seal installation was no problem.
Seems very expensive for a seal
The Ventline Roof Vent Covers and associated seals arrived very quickly (4 days) via the US Postal Service.
They were the perfect fit for my American Hauler Trailer roof vent system. They were installed the same day they arrived. Installation went smoothly because I watched one of the videos you provided.
Just a quick note about the vent line covers I purchased from etrailer. They were sent to me while I was on the road, great service. The covers fit perfectly on my rig. They are first line original replacement equipment. The instruction to install them was very easy to follow and I had no issues putting them on. THANKS A BUNCH TO THE FOLKS AT etrailer.
