Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Replacement Dome for Fan-Tastic Vent RV Roof Vents, part number FVK-1020-19.Replace the damaged cover on your Fan-Tastic RV Roof Vent without replacing the entire unit. This will save the expense and hassle of replacing your entire fan or vent assembly when those are working properly. So, if a fallen limb, weather, or low clearance issue has damaged your cover, this is a perfect solution. It operates the same because it is the same.It's a perfect size to fit your 14 x 14 vent or fan. The bracket is designed to line up perfectly with your Fan-Tastic vent arm. Just like on your old one, it's going to have that same bubble design to keep the water from pooling on top, and also it has that over-lip design.
That way, the elements don't get up underneath and inside. It functions flawlessly."Now that we've gone over the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. Our old one was cracked, so I've already gone ahead and removed it. The new one is a direct replacement. The first thing we can do is take off the protective cover. Now, it doesn't come with any hardware, but one thing our customers have noted on our website is that we can easily reuse our old hardware.The first thing we want to do is line our guide bracket opening up here with the arm.
So, you have to turn it an angle and make sure that it can easily slide. Once it's in place, we can have somebody run inside and lower down the arm, and I'm going to help guide it down. That way we can line up the hinge. Then with it all the way down, we'll want to line up our hinge, and then we can reinstall our old hardware. Now, note that the larger holes are not used.Perfect.

Perfect replacement lid for fan-tastic vent 2000DMS older model on 2005 class-c mtrh...exactly the same. 4 screw installation and the hole patern same. Easy install 30 minutes.
Perfect fit for 2016 Airstream and easy 10 min to install.
My parts manual listed Airstream part number 381841. Fan itself was Atwood 8017A-03. This cover fit. Mounting holes lined up perfectly.
I am very happy that you have the replacement parts I need that match my original parts. The wind storm ripped mine off my roof and broke my lift arm. I Am Very Happy With The Quality. I will be ordering roof vent replacement seals for the lid cover for my other three vents.i will send pictures as soon as the weather lets me get on my roof...
Great fit- exactly as original- package arrived late,beat up,because shipped from Missouri- then went to Boston then made way down to Florida- *but contents were not damaged.
The screw holes for the metal slide are very week. The last ones broke from wind while closed. This new one I'm going to re in force with flex glue prior to installation. The design is obviously flawed,as this is the 3rd one of these that have failed. My 5th wheel is a 2018 Fox Mountain, so it's not that old.
They were the perfect replacement..

The item worked but I needed to make an adjustment so it would fit my Roadtrek fan. The comments section gave me the help that I needed to do that. Lori was friendly and helpful when I called. That is always a plus when dealing with customer service.
The dome is too lightweight for the Az.sun The factory lid that came with our Fantastic fan fell apart, this one will too. Hope to get at least 3 years out of it by installing a cover over it.
I bought this vent cover because the plastic tabs that hold the slider for the lifting mechanism had broken off my old cover. I tried gluing them on but that only lasted less then a year and they broke again. I was glad to see the replacement unit had reinforced tabs that looked much stronger than the original. Also, the hinge holes matched the original so I only had to remove the screws on the old hinge and replace the cover, I wish the new cover came with new screws as the old screws were corroded and I had to find suitable replacements. After the installation the cover would not close all the way. After fiddling around with it, I discovered that the tabs on the new unit where the lifting mechanism attaches are offset from the original, so the lifting mechanism was binding, and not allowing the cover to close. I made some 9/16" spacers from some tubing I had in the garage along with some longer mounding screws and that solved the problem. I don't know if all Fan-Tastic vents are the same, so I cannot say if this will be a problem for everyone. See photos

Perfect replacement for FanTastic roof vent cover. Shipped quickly.
I apologize that his is late. I purchased and installed the product while vacationing in Maine in 2019. It seemed to work completely fine for the remainder of the time and returning to Texas. We didn't get to use it during 2020, because of the "virus". By the Summer of 2021, something else started going awry with another part in the vent system, but I never had an opportunity to trouble shoot it because we got rear ended on an Interstate Hwy in VA, and the RV trailer it was mounted on was totaled.

Its been more than two years, now going on 4, actually! As I stated in the accompanying paragraph above, I no longer own the unit. The RV trailer the product was installed on, was rear ended and totaled in 2021.
Covers and arms delivered timely and the video for installation was spot on. The parts tech was knowledgeable and very helpful and the prices were very fair.

Im incredibly satisfied with the replacement vent. Zero problems. And the best thing about is that now I always remember to lower the vent before driving into the garage.
The product is only average as the last one broke on the first use and without a receipt Dometic would do nothing.
The right product. Simple & easy to install, a good fit for the fantastic fan.
