Great quality and I know the cushioned shank works well as I have others……….like the fact it’s U.S. made………support jobs in this country !

by:

The Convert-a-ball hitch allows me to level my boat trailer easier, and it quietens the drive to the boat ramp by reducing hitch noise caused by uneven pavement.

by:

This product is great but I have replaced it with a more appropriate hitch. I needed a three inch wide mounting plate for the McHitch fully articulating system on my Black Series HQ15. The unit I purchased came all the way from Australia.

by:

Seems to work well. Only used for a short trip and it softens the impact when stopping & starting. I plan to hover near the 10000lb limit with a 30ft toy hauler and hope this hitch holds up. Will report back after more use.

by:

The cushioning system definitely works well (I'm towing an 8000# trailer with a 2015 Yukon XL Denali). The hollow vertical part has me wondering why so many other adjustable height shanks are solid steel. It's rated for 10,000# so it should be fine.

by:

When I traded vehicles, my new trailer receiver was 4 inches lower. My weight distribution shank did not have holes high enough to raise the ball. The convert-A-Ball was the perfect solution. etrailer delivered promptly. The product was just as described and fit perfectly. Thank you etrailer.

by:

First pull went great, didn't have the random "clunk" upon decelerating or accelerating. Little loose in the reciever, but i havn't found a reciever that isn't. Once the WD is on, no issues.
etrailer.com is fantastic

by:

Heavy duty and it helps with movement in the hitch. Smoother while pulling my trailers with my F150.

The price and service from etrailer was top notch.

by:

Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

The product came right on time and we were able to take the family camping with no issues as I was able to adjust the weight distribution system to the needed level.

I highly advise to buy this product for a level worry free ride :)

by:

I received my new weight distribution shank on time. It is exactly what I wanted for my 2013 Ford F-150 that is taller than my previous 2005 Silverado. I will be putting it to use this weekend, I am looking forward to its cushining characteristics.

by:

First time ordering from this site, very pleased with quick shipping time and product prices are very good. Just put on truck this morning and pulled our camper from it's storage site, so far so good, works well and has plenty of adjustment notches to level camper with truck for smooth pulling.

by:

Hitch looks heavy duty and was a good price and fast shipping.

by:

Good price on the product. Quick shippi ng.

by:

Well built. I have another one but smaller and the cushioned shank is a excellent idea ,I wouldn't want anything else.

by:

The product is what I needed. I felt very comfortable and assured with the associates there being knowledgable about the product and how they made sure I got what I needed.
Thank you.

by:

The product was good enough.
Your service
has already been great.
Thanks

by:

Excellent product. Smooth towing and very beefy. My Diesel 2500 needed the lower ball and this works perfectly.

by:

I love Etrailer! I live in KC so UPS ground is like overnight! So far the new hitch looks good and I will find out Friday if it works as well as it looks! Thanks!

by:

The product is exactly as described. I haven't installed it yet, but it seems well made and should do the job excellently.

by:

better than expected , glad i found this one , cushioned VERY NICE (>>???<<)

Easy and fast service.

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation for Towing a 24 Foot Travel Trailer with a 2005 Isuzu Ascender
You are correct, the 24 foot Coachman travel trailer you are considering will require weight distribution for use with your vehicle, and for safety sway control is a good idea. The dual cam sway control you have referenced is the best sway control available, and keeps sway from starting rather than reacting to it like some other systems. You will need to check your trailer weight fully loaded and ready to tow, to be sure you are within the capacity of the hitch and vehicle. Your vehicle...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Shank Compatible with Blue Ox Sway Pro System
Yes, the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Weight Distribution Shank for 2" Hitches - 10,000 lbs # AMAC1 will work with the 2,000 lb tongue weight of the Blue Ox SwayPro # BXW2000 but it will limit the towing capacity to 10,000 lbs. Your only other option is to replace your trailer hitch receiver. If you go this route, I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2-1/2" # DT45508 which is a custom fit for your 1999 Ford Super Duty Truck

  • Compatibility of Convert-A-Ball Cushioned W/D Shank with Pro Series Weight Distribution Kit
It certainly will! The Convert-A-Ball cushioned weight distribution shank # AMAC1 will indeed work perfectly with the Pro Series # PS49583 weight distribution kit. The # PS49583 is designed for trailers with tongue weights ranging from 750-1000 lbs. Ideally, your trailer's fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight, including the weight of anything stowed in the tow vehicle behind the rear axle (coolers, mother-in-law, etc) would fall as close as possible to the middle of that range....

  • Is the Reese Weight Distribution Shank Compatible with Convert-A-Ball Accessories
For the Reese Weight Distribution Shank, part # RP3214, the overall length of the vertical shaft is 8-3/4", and the top of the horizontal shaft to the bottom of the vertical one is 7-1/2". I've linked to a video review of this shank for you to look at. As this shank is for 2" receivers and has holes measuring 1-1/4" apart, the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount Adapter, part # BA-1, that you mentioned will work just fine. The Clevis Adapter, part # CA-1, and the Pintle Hook Adapter, part # PA-1,...

Thanks for your recent purchases! I recommend the Convert-A-Ball shank # AMAC1 because it has a 3-3/8 inch drop when using the round bar system you purchased # 49570. The towing capacity is 10,000 pounds and tongue weight capacity is 2,000 pounds. I included a video review for you too.

  • Recommendation for WD/Sway Control for 2007 Fleetwood Saratoga and 2010 Ford Flex
Tongue weight will depend on how you load it. I would check the Flex owners manual to see what the weight distribution capacity of the vehicle is. Some vehicles cannot use weight distribution systems. I am not sure on the Flex, but to be safe, I would strongly recommend checking the owners manual. Some of the aftermarket hitches we have do allow use of weight distribution system and some do not. The ones that do, do not allow an increase in tow capacity. So I would imagine if your factory...

The Ball Mount Adapter for Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Weight Distribution Shank # BA-1 only fits on weight distribution shanks and would not fit the shank of the Curt # C45900. You'd want to use it with a shank like the part # AMAC1 instead.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to use the # 336VS501 Lock N Roll articulating hitch while using weight distribution. The good news is that we do offer a cushioned weight distribution shank, part # AMAC1. The shank has a 10K towing/2000 tongue weight capacity, and if used with a round bar system, it offers a 3-3/8 inch drop or 6-5/8 inch rise. This has a max rise of 6-5/8" when used with a round bar weight-distribution system and a max rise of 7-3/8" when used with a trunnion bar weight-distribution system. I would recommend the Reese Strait-Line Hitch 800 lbs TW / 12,000 lbs GTW, item # RP66073, this is the best system we have and actually works to keep sway from happening rather than stop it after it starts like other systems. I would suggest the Reese Strait-Line Hitch 600 lbs TW / 12,000 lbs GTW, item # RP66072 which will handle any load that will be within the weight capacity of your vehicle. • Is Rise/Drop Figure for Weight Distribution Shank Standard Between all WD System Brand Heads
The issue is that while the heads of standard weight distribution systems can attach to the cushioned shank part # AMAC1 the relative location for where the ball is mounted isn't always the same between manufacturers. This unfortunately means that the rise/drop figures that the shanks list won't always be an exact figure.
