This adapter is specially designed to attach to the receivers in your Ford or Chevy/GMC's factory, underbed 5th-wheel towing prep package. The base then provides the attachment point for your Curt 5th-wheel legs or roller.Like some other posts, followed instructions to the letter and hitch would not drop into rails. Loosened all the rails bolts, mounted hitch, and re-torqued everything. Puck mounting brackets were just off square a bit and twisted the rails when first installed. Either square ‘em up or alter instructions so it goes in first time. Installed in a 2022 Silverado 2500 6’10” bed. Loved the plan, set the rails first time in a few minutes (instead of waiting in a shop for four hours while someone else did the boring and cutting and such). Hitch has been in two other trucks with conventional rails and always fit. Coulda been a five star, but I am familiar with Curt and feel sure they will get it right.
Really wanted to give this 5 stars but it appears they didn’t try it with a hitch like mine. The flanges on the cross supports do not allow my hitch to seat down onto the support tubes. Thus the hitch holes will not line up with the tube holes and the pins cannot be inserted. I fixed it by taking a sledge hammer to the ears on my hitch until the holes aligned. I shouldn’t need to do that to something this expensive.

It is a shame that you had to use a sledgehammer to use the rails. I wanted to ask which brand of hitch do you have?
After purchasing a new truck, I needed an adapter for the Chevy puck system without buying the entire 5th wheel hitch, this fit the bill. Heavily built and easy to install. The only thing I would recommend is to use larger cotter pins because the ones that came with assembly would not engage the castle nuts.
This is definitely a quality part. I've had it a year, easy to swap between my fifth wheel and gooseneck plate. It installs or comes out easily, it fits securely in my 2023 Silverado 3500. I've pull all of the 25000lbs it's rated for without issue. I highly recommend it. It allowed me to use my fifth wheel and gooseneck plate from my old truck that had rails in it.
Assembly and setup was super easy and quick. Seems super stout. I was worried the added 2 1/2 inches of height added by this would require some adjustments to the pin box. However once hooking up my trailer, no adjustments were necessary. Trailer is almost spot on level, and I am still maintaining 6.5-7 inches of bed side clearance to the trailer.
Frist order was wrong. Not a happy camper as I was not able to bring my new fifth wheel home the day of purchase. Talked with Joshua at etrailer, he helped me with a new order, it arrived two days earlier than expected. Assemble was easy. waiting to bring new fifth wheel home. Thanks Joshua
Easy assembly, fit well. Works just like it should. Put the hitch at a good level to level 5th wheel.

Good as the day I installed it
I purchased a new GMC and didn't want the rails in the bed of my pickup. This worked great with the 5th wheel hitch that I had.
Fit right in my 2020 GMC Sierra and my Reese 16k 5th Wheel for directly on that with 4 pins.
Way to go etrailer, my order was received and with in two days my new adapter base for my new truck came in great condition and i installed in less than 15 minutes along with the spider insert I had from my previous purchase it fit like a glove Thank you for a great easy web site with all the info one needs to get the right product your company that has never let me down in my three orders that I’ve made
Directions were easy to follow and had everything hooked up quickly. As mentioned the adapter raised my hitch 2” so I dropped the 5th wheel hitch down a set of holes (2”).
Very easy install just as described allows me to use same fifth wheel in multiple vehicles.

It has been around a year since my purchase I haven’t had any problems. I’ve only had to remove the hitch once because I needed the full bed of the truck. I was able to assemble it back in the truck just as easy as the first time. The main reason for this purchase was it saved me from having to purchase another hitch and I can remove the hitch and use it in my other truck with standard rails.
The holes didn’t line up had to Grid to make bigger and took out the rubber shims. When I watched the video it said the hitch rails would be 2 inches higher than the bed it is 4 inches

I reached out to the manufacturer and they said their product page says the height should be around 2.5 inches. It sounds like your bars were installed upside down or backwards.
Received today and it was packaged very well. Install took about 20 minutes taking my time. I have not hooked up to my trailer yet but this mount is very stout and fit my 2024 Chevy 3500 HD perfect!
I was unsure on which hitch adapter would work, especially after reading some of the reviews. I asked the experts, and they assured me it work for my 2022 2500 Silverado. When the Adapter showed up, I failed to read the instructions because there were only 4 parts to assemble. The cross supports have to be installed a certain way based on if you have a GM product or a Ford. Of course, I installed them wrong and when I went to install the rails, the holes wouldn't line up. After a quick glance at the instructions, I figured out what I did did wrong and changed the direction I had the originally installed the cross supports. Had I read the instruction initially, it would have taken a solid 5 minutes to install. After all of that, the Reese 5th wheel hitch dropped into place perfectly and we are ready to roll! Thanks again!
Works as advertised! For those who do not have a new style "puck system 5th wheel hitch" this adapter will save you the expense of buying a complete new hitch Thanks.
Super easy to build, locks in place. Towed my 310bh fifth wheel over 4,000 miles on it!!

Works great when you have an old rail system fifth wheel hitch and upgraded trucks. Saves you from buying a whole new fifth wheel hitch.
They dropped right in to the puck system as described. Easy to fallow instructions for assembly and adjustment. My hitch dropped right in.
Ordered this and got it in pretty fast. Was surprised how heavy it is. Verry well made. Does require assembly of the 8 bolts, but that was easy. Placed it in the truck and made adjustments easily for the right fit. My existing hitch fit right in. I did have to drill out on of the holes a little bit for the pin to go through easier, but I had to do that with my universal rails in my old truck also on one hole.

Durable is the word. This thing is made to last. All hardware still moves freely and I have had zero issue with it.
This adapter came very well packaged. It had metal and heavy cardboard corners and luan plywood side caps to protect the adapter from any damage during shipping. I was impressed with the care of packaging.
The adapter required minimal assembly and was very heavy-duty. I was very pleased with the ease of installation and adjustment with the castle nuts and cotter pins. My Reese R16 5th wheel hitch dropped right in like it was supposed to. Some vertical adjustments were made to lower the hitch plate toward the rail mount in the bed since the adapter raised the whole assembly up about 1-1/2". All in all, am very pleased.

I telephoned or found this adapter speaking to Jessie at 79531. This adapter was just the thing that made my existing rail mounted 5th-wheel hitch fit the puck system in my new truck. after installation, I did have to make a height adjustment on the 5th wheel of the hitch to accommodate the extra height of the adaptor, but once the thing arrived in the mail, it was extra heavy duty, but simple to assemble and mount. This is an excellent product and I would recommend it.
This was a great alternative from having to buy a new hitch. it was really easy to install and my tonneau cover fits over the hitch.

After a year of use, no issues. Rails are solid, with no noise. Highly recommend.
The rails fit perfectly. Installation was simple. Instructions are well-written, concise, easy to follow. Thank you Nicole for your research and effort identifying the correct adapter for my application.
The product came very quickly and is exactly as I needed. There is very little customization involved and it fit right in. There should be no issue with the previous hitch aligning with the new conversion. The unit is very solid.
