  • Which Lug Nuts To Use On A 10K Dexter Axle
The Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # 6-109 will not work with Dexter 10 K Axles, Instead you will need the Flange Wheel Nut # 95188. These lug nuts are commonly used on hub-piloted trailer wheels. The flange nut fits a 5/8 inch wheel bolt. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I would be more than happy to further assist you in your towing endeavors.

  • Recommended 5/8 Lug Nut with 18 Thread Pitch
I may have a solution for you, but we do not have a locking lug nut with those specs. However, you could use the Dexter Flange Wheel Nut - 5/8" # 95188 which has an 18 thread pitch, which has the specs you're looking for, but it is not a locking lug nut. This would be the closest solution that we have available. If you're looking for added security for your trailer you may want to consider the The Wheel Club - Tire and Wheel Lock # WI490, which will give you the added security you're seeking....

  • What Are The Torque Specs for 5/8" Lug Studs and Flange Nuts
It looks like you recently purchased some Kodiak Wheel Bolts # K58WB316 and 5/8" flange nuts # 95188 from us, so thank you for being a loyal customer! What you'll want to torque those to will depend on the construction of your wheels and the size of the lug studs. For steel wheels with 5/8" studs and flange nuts you'll want to use 275-325lbs/ft of torque when tightening your lug nuts.

  • What is the Correct Lug Nut to Use with a Wheel Retaining Ring on Dual Wheel Axles
As long as your dual wheel has a flat surface where the Flange Wheel Nut # 95188 would rest against, like what the Dexstar Dual Wheel # AM20790 has, then you would use this flange wheel nut in the place of a nut with a 90 degree cone. Attached is a review video of the flange wheel nut for you to check out. In the video we pull a wheel out to demonstrate the flat surface area the nut would install on. If you are using a wheel retaining ring, like the part # 33-52-1, then you would still...

The Provider 215/75R17.5 Radial Tire w/ 17-1/2" Silver Mod Wheel part # TA95ZR is hub piloted and uses 5/8" studs so you'd likely need a new hub to use this, the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # 8-219-18UC3 for example has the correct hub bore needed for the hub-centric mount and the correct 5/8" diameter studs. For wheel nuts, you can use the Flange Nut part # 95188. In regards to the positive offset, the wheels will sit in .08" from the hub face so you just need to measure...

  • Can the Lionshead Steel Dual Wheel # LHHA420 be Used on a 1976 Barth Motorhome with Alignment Ring
The Lionshead Steel Dual Wheel # LHHA420 is an excellent option for a replacement wheel on your 1976 Barth Motorhome. This wheel has a 5-1/2" offset and is hub piloted which means that it centers on the hub and not the lugs. For this application you need a flange wheel nut like part # 95188. What it looks like that alignment rings does it change the wheel from being hub piloted to lug piloted meaning that it centers on the lugs. This wheel has a 4.75" pilot diameter so if it doesn't...

The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # 8-219-18UC3 fits 7K axles and it has a 4.75" pilot with 5/8" studs so it will work with most hub piloted 17.5" wheels like the Provider 215/75R17.5 Radial Tire w/ 17-1/2" Silbrt Mod Wheel part # TS95ZR. The Flange Wheel Nut part # 95188 is also required.

  • Difference Between Dexstar Dual Wheel Part # AM20783 and Lionshead Steel Dual Wheel Part # LHHA420
The Dexstar Dual Wheel part # AM20783 and the Lionshead Steel Dual Wheel part # LHHA420 are two very similar wheels with a few key differences. They are both 16" diameter x 6" wide wheels with a 8 on 6-1/2" lug pattern. However, the Lionshead wheel has a 3,500 lb weight capacity whereas the Dexstar wheel only has a 3,100 lb weight capacity. Another noticeable difference is that the Dexstar wheel is made in the U.S.A. and the Lionshead wheel is not. In order to install either wheel you will...

  • Will 4.75 Pilot Hole Fit with 4.75 Hub for the Dexstar Dual Wheel with Offset # AM20783
Generally if the hub has studs on it then it is stud piloted but if you secure the wheel to the hub using bolts then it is hub piloted. Since you are using dual wheels it changes things a little bit. The Dexstar Dual Wheel with Offset # AM20783 that you referenced is designed to fit on a dual wheel setup that is hub piloted. This means that the studs come through the back side of the hub and extend through both wheels and you use a 5/8" flange nut, like part # 95188, to secure it. Hub...

  • Can Wheel Center Pilot Hole Be Larger than Hub Bore on 205/75-14 Trailer Tire
As long as your trailer wheel is lug centric, the hub bore being smaller than the wheel's pilot hole is not an issue. The majority of trailer wheels, like the one on # AM32161 are lug centric - they are centered by the wheel studs, once the lug nuts are torqued to specs. On the other hand, the less common hub centric wheel uses the center bore (pilot hole) of the wheel to center itself on the hub. An easy way to tell them apart is by seeing how the wheel attaches to the hub. If your hub...
