Video Transcript for Kodiak Tires and Wheels K58WB316 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Kodiak replacement driving trailer hub wheel stud. 5/8" diameter by 3 1/8" long, and a quantity of one. This 5/8" stud is designed to replace a damaged wheel stud on your trailer hub. The raised spline portion right down here on the stud is what will be driven or pressed into your trailer hub, and the stud is what will go through the bolt hole on your trailer wheel when you put your wheel up on your hub, and when it's used with a heel lug nut, will hold your tire wheel to your axle. These bolts are grade eight. They are stamped on the head. The thread size in is 5/8" diameter and it's 18 threads per inch.

They do use 5/8 by 18 size lug nuts. I did happen to pull one from our stock here just to show you. Once this is on your trailer hub installed, then you put your wheel up on stud and then tighten your lug nut down. Torque it to the correct spec to hold your wheel and tire assembly to your trailer. This size lug is normally used on 16" and larger wheels. The overall length is measured from the bottom of the head to the very end of the bolt.

This one is going to be right at 3 1/8". The threaded portion length is going to be right at 2". Then the spline diameter, this is the portion that will get pressed into your hub, the diameter on that is 11/16". That should do it for the review on the Kodiak replacement driving trailer hub wheel stud. 5/8" diameter, 3 1/8" long and a quantity of one.

  • What Are The Torque Specs for 5/8" Lug Studs and Flange Nuts
It looks like you recently purchased some Kodiak Wheel Bolts # K58WB316 and 5/8" flange nuts # 95188 from us, so thank you for being a loyal customer! What you'll want to torque those to will depend on the construction of your wheels and the size of the lug studs. For steel wheels with 5/8" studs and flange nuts you'll want to use 275-325lbs/ft of torque when tightening your lug nuts.

  • Replacement Wheel Bolt and Stud For Keystone Sprinter 5th Wheel
You will need to check the diameter and length of the wheel bolt you are looking to replace. We do have replacement options for your hubs whether they are 1/2 inch diameter like # K12WB169, 9/16 inch like # K916WB25, or 5/8 inch like # K58WB316. I have linked our page so you can see all your options of wheel studs. I have also linked the pages for wheel bolts in both coarse and fine thread. We also have lug nuts for all these bolt/stud options.

  • Is there a 5/8 Drive-In Hub Stud with a Knurl/Spline Diameter of 0.615 Inches
All of the drive-in wheel studs that we carry that have a 5/8 inch diameter have a knurl diameter of approximately 0.685 inches. They are meant to be very tight though. If you need a 0.615 diameter it would seem odd in a 5/8 because a 5/8 thread diameter would be 0.625 inches. The knurl or spline diameter is always larger than the thread diameter.

  • Replacement 9/16 Inch Wheel Stud for 5/8 Inch Wheel Stud Hubs
The Kodiak Wheel Bolt - 9/16" Diameter x 2-1/2" Long # K916WB25 can replace your 5/8 studs as long as the knurl diameter and length work for your hub and wheel. For instance, the Kodiak Wheel Bolt - 5/8" Diameter x 3-1/8" Long # K58WB316 will work in the hubs due to the same diameter of the knurl, but the length difference is significantly different so the wheel may determine fit. You also don't want to forget the lug nuts # 6-53 that are appropriate for your 9/16 inch studs. The only...

  • Compatibility of 17.5 Rims and Tires To Replace 16 Inch Trailer Wheels
The Westlake 215/75R17.5 Radial Tire w 17-1/2" Lynx Aluminum Wheel # LHAS701 are intended for wheel bolt size 9/16-18 with an 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. These wheels with that bolt pattern and wheel bolt size are rated for 4,805 lbs at 123 psi. The 5/8 inch bolts you are referring to are a stronger bolt, but will not work with these wheels based on the wheel design. That change is not required based on the wheel design or weight. If you want the 5/8 inch wheel bolts, then I recommend...
