The ball mount did not fit onto the shank. This was a very disappointing experience.

Wow, I am confused on this too! I sent you an email about this. Lets take a closer look together and see if we cant figure out what went wrong here. I am suspecting the powder coating needs to be sanded down a touch.

by:

The fit of the U channel for the ball mount was too tight over the verticle drilled box tube. It needed “persuasion” to get it over the tube. This will make height changes away from the shop difficult. No rattle though.

Delivered Timely, In Good Condition. Customer Service was OUTSTANDING by Madison H. Thanks ETrailer!

Just received this ball mount and have just mounted the hitch/sway bar balls. Can't wait to use it next weekend. This will be extremely helpful when switching between trailers on my 2019 4Runner. I'll write a thorough review once we've used it in a real world trip with our travel trailer.

Only one minor detractor is a rather nasty burr on one of the welds that didn't get ground smooth. it's rather sharp. I'll grind it down and add some touch-up paint, but otherwise, this is a terrific item.

I have been using this product now for about a year and a half and have used it to tow the travel trailer several times. It works great. I would highly recommend this to others. As others have said, the weight of this ball mount makes the free shipping a real blessing.

by:

It is just what I needed. There was one small issue with the power coating but the staff was great about helping me make it work.

by:

We towed our travel trailer from South Florida to the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The hitch performed perfectly and we were grateful that we had it. I was able to adjust the height to the highest level so I don't need a weight distribution hitch...just the sway bar.

We did another cross country trip. Had a blow out. The hitch held up perfect. So far so good. Over 6,000 miles on it.

by:

This hitch is garbage. The holes don’t align and there is a massive gap between the ball mount and the ball/ anti sway ball assembly. Unless you like 1” of gap, using a drill press or under sized bolts on your new set up upon opening, this hitch isn’t for you. Buy something different and don’t waste your money.

by:

Tammy was great, I ordered this product from a competitor after a month I had not received it and then it was pushed out another month. I called etrailer and spoke to Tammy and I had my hitch the next week. Although it was a little more expensive than the competitor I am glad to have it.

Great price for an adjustable hitch with anti-sway bar 1" ball. I just picked up my new tent trailer and this made leveling out my truck with the tent trailer so easy. Went home and installed the anti-sway bar within 30 minutes. Made it real easy with the built-in 1" ball mount, I didn't have to weld on a tab for the 1" ball mount like most other trailer hitches. The only downside was that their was some play in the two bolts that you use to set the height, but was easy enough to fix by inserting to small washers and now its tight. I highly recommend this hitch for those that use an anti-sway bar.

by:

Great service and great products. Item works exactly as advertised and was delivered two days earlier than expected! Thank you for this, my fifth purchase over the past ten years. Incredibly efficient company!

by:

Received this ball mount to replace a Curt fixed-height ball mount that would not work when I bought a new truck. I decided rather than buy yet another fixed-height ball mount, I would buy an adjustable one that could be used for years to come. I have a small Rockwood Mini-Lite trailer that does not require weight distribution, but I do like having a friction sway control, so I started looking for an adjustable ball mount with sway ball on it. Yes, I could have had one welded up for me, but I prefer factory-built when I can find it. My first top was etrailer, since I figured if they didn't have one that would work, no one would. I was thrilled when I found this mount.

I have only test-towed the trailer with it so far, since it is still currently winterized, but I have zero complaints. With the bolts tightened properly for the ball platform, there is no "play" or clunking when driving. The ball mount is also long enough that I can lower my tailgate without hitting the jack on the trailer, which I could not do with my Curt ball mount. The ball mount fits very snug in my receiver, and I almost had a little difficulty getting it in the first time. This is a good thing in my book, since it shows that the manufacturing tolerances are very tight on this ball mount. There is no play at all when sitting inside my 2" Curt hitch receiver.

One thing to note that isn't really good or bad, but just different is that the ball hole is just barely big enough for a 1" shank hitch ball. I actually had to thread the hitch ball part way through the hole the first time to get it to fit, but it fits very securely once mounted. Again, this is a good thing, and goes to show that Draw-Tite really makes a good product. There are no sloppy welds, poor tolerances, or any other signs of poor craftsmanship anywhere on this ball mount.

And, as always, Etrailer shipped the same day I ordered, and had the product to my door in less than 48 hours. (I live north of Kansas City), with free shipping, which on a 40-pound item was an excellent value. I will continue to buy from Etrailer, because I am grateful there is a company offering a wide range of towing, automotive, and RVing products for bargain prices.

I will update this review in June 2017 after I use the ball mount on a 2000-mile trip to the Great Lakes, and share my experience with it long-term in a heavy-use environment. Based on my initial experiences, I'm not even worried.

by:

This is a God send. The small trailer I pull would not line up with my hitch. If I used one that dropped it usually dropped too far and my trailer wheel would com close to dragging (doesn't retract). With this adjustable hitch I was able to find a setting that suited me perfectly.

by:

I bought a small travel trailer and needed an adjustable ball mount with sway control tab and a trailer brake controller to pull it with my 2006 Chevy truck. The information on etrailer's website made it easy to decide what I needed as-well-as install everything that I bought. I received everything that I ordered quickly and without any issues.

by:

Was okay for the most part, but the opening for the sway control ball was too small and not to spec. Had to return it.

by:

I have not used this yet; however I am greatly impressed with the quality and features. I looked long and hard to find an adjustable hitch (one with smaller incremental adjustments) with excellent construction and great value. This one meets and exceeds my needs. Thanks etrailer for great products, pricing and superior customer service.

Honda Pilot towing 16 foot Casita travel trailer. The hitch with sway bar tab which was used by the prior owner allowed the trailer to sag about two inched too low at the connection, which was causing an occasional scrape at uneven driveways, abrupt rises, etc. It was a little difficult to find an adjustable hitch with a reversible sway bar tab, but this one really fit the bill. The tow ball is now 2 1/2 inches higher and the rig looks much better as an added bonus.

I ordered by phone and the assistant was very helpful. HInt: I ordered after hours on a Wednesday night using the free shipping, and the hitch arrived noon Friday
(St. Louis [Wentzville] to central Alabama)!

by:

I've had this hitch for a year now and it has worked perfectly with our camp trailer. I use it with a friction sway control bar.

by:

I needed a slight adjustment to make my Casita trailer level. This ball mount is the perfect solution. Product arrived quickly all parts packed to guard against damage. Ball mount 5/8" thick very sturdy and reverse able for my sway control tab . It was on back order from factory little long to ship but worth the wait!!

by:

I have yet installed it, but it appears to be very sturdy and well made.

by:

I needed to raise the ball 2 1/2" above the receiver to level the trailer. This worked perfectly and made it easy to hook up the sway bar. Great service, great product! Thanks.

by:

This is an excellent hitch. Multiple adjustment options in increments of 1". Really like the heavy duty sway bar plate that can be mounted to either side. Well worth the money, if you are a ball coupler tow person, excellent for my small camper.

by:

When buying anything related to trailer needs, etrailer is my #1 go to dealer. Price competitive with other online retailer, if not cheaper. Shipping is immediate and no taxes. etrailer has always shipped brand new parts, whereas some other online retailer partners has ever been caught reselling used stuff. Always very well packaged.

by:

I really like this product, perfect for my needs. I needed an adjustable hitch with sway control but without load leveling. This is a perfect product.

by:

This was the perfect product for my needs. It was easy to assemble and to transfer balls from old hitch to new one. The product arrived in a timely manner at a much better price than I could fine the same product locally at a few shops.

by:

Worked great on my Subaru Forester pulling a small A frame. The sway control was perfect for my setup.
