Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness. The connection point for the 4-way tow harness is located behind the rear bumper, on the driver's side. The ModuLite plugs into the factory wiring harness within the driver's-side storage compartment in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the ModuLite, insert the included fuses and relays into your fuse panel as indicated in the instructions.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Product was Quality and installation instructions were good. The only improvement is when connecting the Tow Cable Harness it’s best to detach the Vehicles Cable from the frame (Pic) to release the protective cover due to there being 2 Tabs that release different ways in different directions on the Plug Cover. When I plugged the cable into my trailer’s the lights lit up like a Christmas Tree, Great Job!!!

2009 Honda Pilot

Just what I was looking for.Install for wire harness was quick and easy.
Photos on instructions were a little dark, other than that all was very good. Customer service was delightfull and knowledgeable.
Thanks etrailer.... ;)

This kit was perfect and easy to install. Truly "plug and play!". With the bracket that etrailer.com also carries, I made a small mod so the original cover plate still fit and I could use the plug cap. But the kit is really all you need

by:
2011 Honda Pilot

Item arrived in a timely manner. Instructions were easy to follow. Installed in about 30 minutes. I notched the removable cover where the 7-pin RV socket would go to allow room for the wire to come over the top for a clean install.

Great product easy to do would highly recommend your product and your company

Honda Pilot

Very easy installation shipping was fast product worked exactly as described only issue was removal of my Honda pilot plug the cap in the plug under the vehicle near the exhaust pipe was a real bear to get out new plug snapped right in place and everything else was super easy now I can tow my trailer worry free about my lights or turn signals, thanks for everything!!

by:

it was everything that was to be expected. I used it to save money from buying at the [car] dealership. I just watched the video and followed step-by-step took about 10 minutes to install. Thank you

2011 Honda Pilot

"That was easy".. Worked like a charm. Glad I went this route instead of the dealer. Saved a lot of $$. The only thing was trying to figure out which one to get on the website. I was confused. I knew I needed a 4 point connection. My vehicle had a hitch but no harness so when it asked for a tow package I wasn't sure what to select. I ended up going with the product that seemed to be used the most and had the most reviews. I made the right choice. The directions were real clear... Getting the plug off the wire harness on the vehicle was a little tricky. You have to detach the plug on the vehicle by pulling the clip out of the hole in the frame. Then the clip thats attached to the plug needs to be removed (don't break it just unsnap it). This will release one end of the plug. Then on the other side is a little snap you have to press. Once you plug in the new harness you can reconnect the snap to hold the two connections together and reattach to the frame. I should have taken pictures. Maybe someone else that reads this could do this in the future and share.

1 year follow up - I havent used it much since last summer but the only problem I incurred were a few burnt fuses. It wasnt anything wrong with this product which I thought initially but the trailers had bad grounds. I had to test the harness on other trailers to narrow it down to the trailers. After fixing the trailers grounds I didnt have the problems again.

The Trailer Wiring Harness works like it suppose to. It was a easy and fast hook up. The price is so much less than buying a manufacture part from Honda. I would recommend buying this product from etrailer.com , it would save you a lot of money.

I ordered a trailer plug kit for my 2011 Honda Pilot. Between the video on the site and instructions, I was able to install the kit in 20 minutes. It worked on the first plug in. From ease of installation and quality of kit it's 5 stars.

Still working great no dramas this was a great purchase.

by:

This was very easy to install. I was worried the modulelite would be a problem but was very easy to install.

by:

This works great! All plug in stuff was included, the manufacturer did their homework! The Vehicles today have a lot of complicated electronics. I was surprised about the relays and fuses needed and that I had to access two different fuse boxes but it all worked out. Just follow the instructions provided, they even included pictures! Easy install if you can read and follow instructions.

I had this installed in about 10 minutes. The hardest part of the install was the zip tying the harness under the rear bumper. Awesome installation direction. Scale of ease being a 10!! Thank you.

2010 Honda Pilot

I was able to accomplish the installation of the Honda Pilot trailer wiring harness by using the directions provided. On a 1 to 10 scale, I would rate the difficulty of this project, as an 8. Not having to pay a Honda dealer the big bucks they charge, was the primary motivator for me. I have pulled a trailer many times over the past year, and have had working trailer lights every time.

by:
2010 Honda Pilot

I have a 2010 Honda Pilot and I purchased a 4 Flat wiring Harness so i could tow a log splitter.
The wiring harness was very easy to install. The printed instructions that came with the kit alongwith the video on etrailer's Product page made it a snap to identify and install the relays and fuses. The plug that attaches behind the bumper was also easy to attach.
All in all, I was impressed with this kit and will happily say that etrailer did good by me.
Thanks, etrailer!

First the shipping was so fast. The part was exactly what it showed and the youtube installation video made it so easy to do. Took me 20 min to install and works perfect. Plus, the price was amazing. Only 1 local store carried this and they wanted 3 times the price.

4 plug wiring harness for 2011 Honda Pilot
By
following the written instructions and online video, I was able to
successfully wire my vehicle with the wiring kit provided. The components were well made and fit the vehicle connectors as described.
I would recommend this product to anyone wishing to add a wiring harness to their vehicle.

by:

Great product! Everything was as advertised. The installation video was excellent. The wire harness was the only difficult part. Getting the connection block disconnected was very difficult. I think it needed a better explanation. I eventually got it but it took over 30 minutes of trial and error while laying on my back in the driveway. The rest of the installation took 10 minutes. A bracket for the 4 pin connection would be a nice addition.

by:

This product worked perfectly and the phone support was excellent. The online installation video was awesome and made it go smoothly - whole process took about 15 minutes. I wrestled with getting the old connector loose from the vehicle (like many others) - the only improvement would be to show how to get the connector loose in the the video. I ended up just breaking the blue plastic tab, but noted after the fact that it could have been released without breaking it. It is impossible to see though, until after you get it broken loose.

by:

Great company. Always keep you up to date on product delivery. Will always get my supplies here.

2010 Honda Pilot

This is my second purchase from Etrailer and I'm very pleased. Product arrived quickly and was exactly as described. Installed on my 2010 Pilot very easily and all the trailer lights work perfectly. Most difficult part of the install was removing the cap from the wiring plug under the rear bumper. Found it easier once I unhooked the plug from the vehicle and let it hang down, making it easier to access. Other than that, it's plug and play. Hope this helps.

by:
2011 Honda Pilot

This kit worked perfectly, and the price can't be beat. There was one fuse missing, but it was easy to replace at NAPA. As many others have said, the most difficult step was getting the wiring harness detached from the bumper. Otherwise, I just followed the video tutorial, and my trailer lights work like a charm.

  • Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller to a 2011 Honda Pilot
If your 2011 Honda Pilot came with a factory tow package (have a Honda dealer run the VIN if you are unsure) then you can use Curt wiring harness # 118253 which comes with everything to make the 7-Way fully functional. For a brake controller I recommend the P2, # 90885, because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable. You would also need brake controller wiring harness # 3070-P. The easiest way to add a 7-Way to your 2011 Honda Pilot would be to use Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118253. Out of this kit, you would need to use just one of the large black relays and then replace the 4-Way you have with the 7-Way components in the kit. This is because the 4-Way kit you have installed, # 118491, already uses a lot of the same parts (see instructions).
