Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller to a 2011 Honda Pilot
Question:
Hello, do you have a 7 pin connector for a 2011 Honda Pilot? I need trailer brakes and power to the trailer. A 4 to 7 pin adaptor is not what Im looking for. Preferably, this connector would couple directly to the harness that is equipped on this vehicle.

If your 2011 Honda Pilot came with a factory tow package (have a Honda dealer run the VIN if you are unsure) then you can use Curt wiring harness # 118253 which comes with everything to make the 7-Way fully functional.
For a brake controller I recommend the P2, # 90885, because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable. You would also need brake controller wiring harness # 3070-P.
If your Pilot does not have the factory tow package then the only option is to hardware in a 7-Way and brake controller or have the dealer install all of the factory tow package components which I can only imagine would be quite expensive.
If you do need to hardwire in the 7-Way and brake controller then you would start by installing a 4-Way, # 118491, unless the vehicle already has one (which would mean it has the tow package so you would not have to hardwire it all in). Then you would need the 4- and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation.
I still recommend the P2 brake controller for the hardwire installation, you just wouldn't need the 3070-P harness if hardwiring in the controller.
