Fuse/Relay Locations for Tekonsha T-One 4-Way Wiring Kit on a 2013 Honda Ridgeline

Question:

I have a 2013 Honda Ridgeline Sport. Im using Kit Number 118491. None of the photos in the instructions are for the Ridgeline so I can only reference/follow the text-based instructions. Issue #1 The instructions say to insert two relays into the relay block. When I remove the relay block there are in-fact two open slots, but only one relay was provided with my kit. Is my kit missing a relay or do I only need the one? If I only need the one, which of the two available slots should it be placed into, or does it not matter? I know each fuse slot is for a specific purpose, I dont know if relays function the same way. Issue #2 The instructions say to insert three 20 Amp fuses and two 7.5 Amp fuses into the cavities. My kit only came with two 20 Amp fuses, not three. Am I missing one, or are only two needed? If only two are needed, I need to know which of the three available slots they should go into. The available 20 Amp slots are: Electric Brake, Small Lights, and Charge There is a fourth available 20 Amp slot for Moonroof but that obviously has nothing to do with this. I attached an image of the fuse box diagram from the manual. I was not able to find the relays from Issue #1 in the manual. All in all, the instructions are too vague for the Ridgeline. The instructions, provided parts, and truck dont match up.

Thank you for the question!

I reached out to my contact at Tekonsha who gave me some really great insight for the T-One # 118491 on your 2013 Honda Ridgeline. Basically this kit was built for a Honda Pilot and afterwards they ended up finding out that it also fit some model years of the Ridgeline which is why the pictures are for the Pilot and the instructions for the Ridgeline are a bit vague.

Since you have the 4-Way kit you actually only need 2 of the 20A fuses and 1 relay. The instructions are also for the kit # 118253 which comes with a 7-Way connector and that extra fuse and relay are to add those extra functions. For your application you just need the trailer light functions so he said disregard the 20A slot labeled for electric brakes (so the Charge and Small Light locations). When I spoke with my contact about the relay he said they aren't exactly sure which location you need to use so you will need to plug it into one spot then check to see if the 4-Way has power. If it does then you are good to go but if it doesn't then you just need to plug the relay into the other spot.
