Solid and simple construction make this a great plug for rugged high amp application. I use this for power transfer to my dump trailer and it works great! Definitely recommend this product.!

Nice product

by:

I LOVE these! I need to run power to my car hauler and had to replace the cheap single pole cable I bought at the truck shop since both connectors (cheap cast aluminum) broke in only a few weeks. I've used this connector for years and it is easy to dis/connect EVERY time, and it's thick brass case does NOT break. If you need reliability, and can't afford to have a work stoppage, this will be what you need.

A year later, the connects are still doing just fine. Since they are exposed to the weather and road spray I spray them out with brake cleaner and reapply a little dielectric grease to them and have never had so much as a hiccup from this great product.

by:

Makes a great disconnect for Winches, and fast shipping from etrailer.

by:

Use on all of my trailers with winches. Very durable and better than plastic plugs companies like to use with winches. Only down fall you have to sodier power wire into center power pin

by:

It doesn't have the capability to do what you claim. Also, the instructions are extremely vague.

by:

Connector was as exactly as described and was heavy-duty and excellent quality. Item was packaged and shipped well.

by:

Product was exactly what I thought it would be and showed up ahead of time and in great shape. I would definitely recommend you guys to friends and family, thanks again.

It’s a great product that is still doing well. Thanks!

by:

Everything we purchased, work out very well for us. Ty!

by:

I only wish the description would have included the part and number for the seal and the spring
that fit on the back of the plug. I would have order the seal too.

by:

Great

by:

Again, good quality! Bigger than I thought, but very well made.

As described w faaast delivery

  • How to Charge Two 12 Volt Batteries on an RV Towed by a Ford F-150
The 12 volt circuit on a 7-Way trailer connector can provide a maintenance charge to a 12 volt battery but it will not be able to fully charge it because the wiring for a 7-Way is too small to carry the current required. What you can do to charge the batteries on the RV is to first install a battery isolator, # PK5231201, in the truck. You will need to attach one terminal to the positive on the truck battery and then connect the center terminal to a 12 volt ignition source (something that...

  • Recommendation For Getting Power To A Trickle Charger On A Trailer With A 4 Flat Plug
The best way to accomplish what you want this to do will actually be to upgrade the 4 Flat plug on the trailer to a 7 Way. If you use something like the Hopkins # H20046, you will not need to connect all the wires. You will just need to match your blinker/brake signal, running light, and ground wires to the ones on the plug and them run the black wire to the trickle charger. A junction box like the # 38656 will also make this task a lot easier. If you do prefer to keep the 4 Flat on the...

  • Parts Needed to Charge a Trailer Battery for a Winch
First, the wiring on a trailer connector can provide a maintenance charge to a 12 volt battery on a trailer but it will not be able to fully charge it. The 12 volt circuit on a 7-Way is already circuit protected so a separate fuse or breaker should not be needed. There is a way you can provide a charge to the battery from the truck. You would need to equip the truck and trailer with separate single pole connectors independent of the 7-Way. For the trailer side, you would need Pollak Single-Pole,...

  • How Does 00 Gauge Wire Get Installed In Pollak Single Pole Connector PK11852?
The 00 Gauge wire you have will need to get soldered to the the Pollak Single Pole Connector # PK11852. You will remove the front portion of the connector by removing the screw on the front portion of the connector and then pulling the front part of the terminal out. Next push the wire through the rear of the connector, strip off enough of the the wire insulation to go into the terminal, then solder it on. Before doing this you can also add the Cable Guard # PK11763 to protect your...

  • How to Charge a Trailer Battery While Towing a Tear Drop Trailer with a 2002 Volvo v70XC
If your trailer has a 7-Way connector, then it either already has electric brakes or is set up for electric brakes. Either way, you would not want to use the pin and wiring for the electric brake to charge a battery because it is too small a gauge for this application. A 7-Way connector already has a pin for a 12 volt accessory. If you are looking at the face of the trailer side 7-Way, it is in the 11 oclock position. This wire is only large enough to maintain a battery but will not charge...

The threaded end of the Pollack Single-Pole Trailer Connector, # PK11852, is for the Pollack Plated Steel Cable Guard, # PK11763. The cable guard prevents incoming wires from crimping and includes a loop to hang the connector when it is not in use.

Both trailer connectors you speak of are sockets that would typically be used on the vehicle end of the trailer/vehicle connection. One is a one pole, the other a two pole so they wouldn't be compatible with each other. The Pollak # PK11851 is a single pole wiring socket, which would be compatible with a # PK11852 single pole plug The Pollak # PK12801 2-pole socket would be compatible with a 2-pole plug, part # PK12800.

Since the wiring on the harness and your Jetta is not rated for a charging application, you will need to hardwire a connector specifically for this function. • Does Travel Trailer Battery Connector Need to Have Ground Connection
Yes, whether you plan on using the Pollak Single-Pole # PK11852 (which is geared more towards winches) or the 7-Way Round RV Style Trailer Connector - Trailer Side # A7WCB (which is recommended for a travel trailer), you will not only connect the power wire but you also need to have a ground connection as well. The single pole connector has a ground connection on top of it while the 7-Way has a pin designated for the ground (see attached picture).

The 12v power pin on the 7-way connector of your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado will provide a small maintenance charge to your trailers battery, but will not be able to support it using a winch. The only option to keep it charged when using something that draws a lot of power like a winch would be installing a heavy duty single pole connector # PK11851 on the truck and the trailer side # PK11852 on the trailer. • Can the Ultra-Fab 4K Electric A-Frame Jack Be Powered From the Vehicle
Yes, the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack part # UF38-944016 can be powered from the tow vehicle's battery. I suggest simply attaching a trailer connector to the end of the power wire and extending if needed, similar to the etrailer Electric Jack with Footplate and 7-Way Plug part # EJ-3527-BBX. That said, the Ultra-Fab pulls more power than the etrailer so you really can't use the 7-way socket due to the wire gauge difference. I recommend installing part # PK11852 on the jack and part...

For a higher amperage connector setup you'd want the single pole part # PK11851 with the matching male side part # PK11852. This has a 300 amp rating so you'd be perfectly fine to run basically anything you'd want from it. The connector you mentioned is limited to only 10 amps. The Battery Isolation Solenoid # PK5231201 along with 00 gauge wire and Pollak Single-Pole, Round Pin Trailer Wiring Socket # PK11851 along with # PK11852 will allow you a great connection for charging your battery. • Using the 12 Volt 7-Way Circuit for Off Road Lights on a Trailer
This sounds like a power draw issue. The 12 volt circuit on your 7-way is only designed to provide a certain amount of amps which will vary depending on the vehicle but it is usually around 20-40. If the power draw of your off road lights exceeds this then that is what would cause them to cut out.
