Today, we'll be reviewing part number PK11702. This is the Pollak HD, 7-Pole Round Pin Connector, it's also going to feature the cable guard that's attached there. Nice, flexible. That way you can move your cable as needed and you don't have to worry about your wires being damaged. It's going to really protect them. It has the easy grip, finger pulls here. It's going to allow disconnecting to be very simple and easily done.
This is a heavy duty, standard 7-way plug. Again, with the cable guard. Nice zinc die cast material. Very strong. Very durable.
It's going to stand up well against weather and corrosion and rust. Voltage rating is going to be 6 to 28 volts. With a current rating of 40 continuous duty amps. Again, it has the finger pulls. It has the raised portion right here, it's going to allow you to know that the connection is successfully made. To run your wires through, you need to loosen up the screw here at the back.
You can kind of see in there, there is a little metal piece. U shaped. Undoing that screw is going to raise that piece up, so you can feed your wires through. You need to undo the set screw here on top. That's going to allow this portion to come out.
Make your connections to the back of this. Put it back in. Reset the screw. Tighten this back down, it's going to tighten the wires. It's also going to keep any dirt or moisture from being able to get in there to the connection points. Again, you have the cable guard. It's really going to protect everything. The finger pulls. Great system to have to easily to disconnect from the plug itself. Overall length, measuring from end to end, is going to give us a measurement of about 8 inches. That's going to do it for our review of part number PK11702. This is the Pollak HD, 7-Pole Round Pin Connector with a cable guard. .

I bought this as part of a rewriting project for my 77 Airstream Tradewind. What can I say - it works and it was easy to install. I've never made one of these before but after following some instructions online my problems were all fixed and I had lights and brakes.
FYI, if you are using this for a 77 Airstream like myself you will need to connect the wires from the tow vehicle to this connector according to color with three exceptions:
The yellow wire from the tow vehicle goes to the black connector on this plug.
The black wire from the tow vehicle goes to the blue connector on this plug.
The blue wire from the tow vehicle goes to the yellow connector on this plug.
If the above doesn't make sense to you now (like it didn't to me) it will make perfect sense once you have this item in your hand.
One more note about my installation - I had two problems that I was trying to solve with this. The first is that I had an "SH" meaning a short circuit in my brake lines. This same error showed up no matter what tow vehicle or what brake controller was connected.
The second problem is that my running lights would not work on my camper, however when you connected my camper to another tow vehicle using my old 7 pin plug the lights did work. Strange, but we verified that the problem was not in my tow vehicle so the only option would be this 7 pin connector was somehow not working correctly. For what it's worth, the running lights would work on a 1999 Suburban and a 1997 Tahoe, but would not work on my 2004 Suburban.
Anyways, I figured that I would at least try to use this item to make a new connector before taking it in for service and lo and behold once I got everything hooked up it all worked perfectly (the brakes and all of the lights now work).
I couldn't be happier.

We had a truck that had a male side of this particular plug. We also had a trailer that needed to be wired up with the female side. etrailer had the parts we were looking for. Purchase was easy and the part fit nicely. Wiring was simple we just printed the PDF file easily found online. We did have to do some simple trouble shooting as our old connector had a 5 wire system but we figured it out. We've bought other trailer items from etrailer and have always been happy with fast service and fair pricing.

Used these to replace the plastic connectors on my tractor trailer 7-way cable. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. They were very easy to install, and I don't feel like I'm going to break my connector everytime I unplug my trailer.

This connector has been great. Its survived the heavy use of being on a local tractor trailer that s and hooks 2-3 trailers a day, 6 days a week.

This is by far the best plug I've ever had. I go thru some of the most extreme terrain and conditions with both my goat trailer and camper while in the back country. This plug has not failed me yet. I should get a lot of years out of these.

Bought to replace the plug that came on my new Bush Hog 1812 that I hook to a Kubota M6040 . The plastic plug was damaged during a hookup of the mower. The Pollak replacement plug with the spring cord guard if far superior in construction. The coil guard protects the area that was initially cut. Extremely easy to install. The videos from the company are very helpful. The red wire on the Bush Hog goes to the Green wire hookup on the new plug. On farm equipment there is always some variations.

Works as advertised to utilize a 7 pin agriculture tractor plug on tractor for implements and such in which only the aux power is needed so with this you can make a custom connection.

Just got the order looks great Pollak parts like these are the real thing not like Pollak market fakes that I have now, nothing but trouble. They are made heavy. As a followup one year later, I am still VERY pleased with this connector. It still works absolutely perfectly without any issues. It turns out that my lighting issue was NOT the old connector that I had after all, but was an issue internal to the Airstream fuse panel. Ive since fixed that super easy to fix once the problem was identified but still this connector seems much more durable than the one that it replaced. I would buy this again if I ever need another one though judging from how it looks I dont think this one will ever go bad.
