Recommendation For Getting Power To A Trickle Charger On A Trailer With A 4 Flat Plug
Question:
Hi, My truck has a 7way round plug. My trailer no brakes has a 4 way flat. I am looking for a 7 way round plug that has a 4 way flat plug, and pigtails with the additional power wires from the 7 way. I want to grab the black 12v wire and run it to a trickle charger in my trailer. I see lots of combinations in your store but not this one? Thanks for your help

The best way to accomplish what you want this to do will actually be to upgrade the 4 Flat plug on the trailer to a 7 Way. If you use something like the Hopkins # H20046, you will not need to connect all the wires. You will just need to match your blinker/brake signal, running light, and ground wires to the ones on the plug and them run the black wire to the trickle charger. A junction box like the # 38656 will also make this task a lot easier.
If you do prefer to keep the 4 Flat on the trailer though, you can add the Pollak Single-Pole # PK11851 to your truck with the # PK11771 mounting bracket. You can either piggy back off the 12 volt power wire going to the 7 Way, like the # C57674, or you can run a separate dedicated line for it as well. The Pollak Single-Pole # PK11852 can then be run to your trickle charger on the trailer side. It's kind of an odd solution, but it will work.
