Video Transcript for Pollak Wiring PK11763 Review

Today we're going to be reviewing part number PK11763. This is the Pollak Plated Steel Cable Guard for the back of multiple Pollak connectors. This plated steel cable guard is going to connect to the back of your connector plug. It's going to prevent the incoming wires from crimping. It's going to fit over the back of many different Pollak plugs. Again, it's going to prevent the wires from crimping, it's going to keep those wires safe. It includes a nice loop right here.

That way you can unplug your connector with this still on the back of it and then it has that loop on there so you can hang it up when it's not in use. It's constructed of a plated steel construction. It's going to stand up really well against rust and corrosion. If we take a measurement of the overall length, that's going to give us a measurement of about 3-3/4 of an inch. If we include the hook, that's going to extend it out to about 4-1/4 of an inch. Then the opening size that we have here, the diameter of that opening, is going to give us a measurement of about 1 inch. Now I did pull a Pollak plug that has a threaded portion on it back here.

The cable guard is going to be ideal for an application like this. You just place it on there and you would simply just thread it on until you get a nice, firm hold. You can thread it all the way down the threads on the back of the plug and you can see there how that's going to protect the wires and prevent the incoming wires from being able to crimp. That's going to do it for today's review of part number PK11763. This is the Pollak Plated Steel Cable Guard.

  • Preventing Damage to 4-Way Connectors on Trailers Used by Many People
There are a few solutions I can think of. First I will list some parts that you may find useful then explain some of the ideas I had. We offer a weather proof junction box, part # 38656, that would allow people to make hardwire connections without cutting your 4-pole connector off. We do not carry any heavy coated wire, but we do carry wire loom that might make cutting a bit more difficult like part # 459075-1. The best solution for preventing cutting I could think of is using flexible...

  • Do 7-Pole Connector # PK11700 and Cable Guard # PK11763 Thread Onto Each Other
The 2 parts in question, # PK11763 and # PK11700, do thread together. I went out and tested it myself to make sure. Once threaded on the cable guard doesn't like to thread back off though. I used a small flat blade screwdriver to sort of pry the coils off enough to where I could then pull it off. We also have them already together as # PK11702.

  • How Does 00 Gauge Wire Get Installed In Pollak Single Pole Connector PK11852?
The 00 Gauge wire you have will need to get soldered to the the Pollak Single Pole Connector # PK11852. You will remove the front portion of the connector by removing the screw on the front portion of the connector and then pulling the front part of the terminal out. Next push the wire through the rear of the connector, strip off enough of the the wire insulation to go into the terminal, then solder it on. Before doing this you can also add the Cable Guard # PK11763 to protect your...
