Does Travel Trailer Battery Connector Need to Have Ground Connection

do i need to ground the trailer end plug if its receiving current from a grounded battery isolator from the pull vehicle, and the battery its charging is grounded to the trailer?

Yes, whether you plan on using the Pollak Single-Pole # PK11852 (which is geared more towards winches) or the 7-Way Round RV Style Trailer Connector - Trailer Side # A7WCB (which is recommended for a travel trailer), you will not only connect the power wire but you also need to have a ground connection as well. The single pole connector has a ground connection on top of it while the 7-Way has a pin designated for the ground (see attached picture).
