Today we're going to review part number HM47445. This is the Hopkins Trailer Connector Adapter. It's a 7-pole round pin to a 6-pole round. This adapter will convert your 7-pole round pin that's on the vehicle end to the 6-pole round connector that will be on your trailer. It has the built in cover on the 6-way side which you can remove, it gives access to the 6-round pins. When you're not using it put the cover right on and it protects it from any dust or grime or elements. It also has the nice, easy-grip design you can see right there that you can easily install it and remove it very easily. That should do it for the review on part number HM47445, the Hopkins Trailer Connector Adapter, a 7-pole round to a 6-pole round.

Perfect. Fit the plug in my '86 F-250 Camper Special & converted it to the round 6 easy. The man that installed the old round 7 plug had wired it differently to accommodate non-integrated tail lights/brake lights on his application, however, referring to the Hopkins website for the illustrated wiring diagrams & comparing them to what was on the truck, I was able to quickly correct the wiring for my standard application. Couldn't be happier with the build/fit/availability of the adapter & e-trailer sent it quick so it was here in time to use it the following weekend as planned.

- Recommended Adapter To Plug 6-way Trailer Connector To 7-Way Connector On 1998 Dodge Ram 2500We have just what you are looking for. If you have a 7-way blade-style connector on your Dodge, you can use part # 47549. This simply plugs into your 7-way on your Dodge and then the 6-way connector from the camper plugs into the adapter. - Will a 7-Way Round to 6-Way Adapter Work with a Semi TractorA 7-way round pin on a semi tractor normally has different functions than a 7-Way round pole found on something like an RV. I have included a picture showing what the functions are on the 7-Way part of the adapter. If this matches what your semi tractor has then it will work properly. If your 7-Way has different functions, which you can check by using a circuit tester such as # 3008, then you will need to re-wire the 7-Way to match the adapter or install a different 7-Way that will match.

I don't think we have anything else that would work in its place as well so your only options are to replace the adapter completely or try to rig something up yourself. You have to test the wires using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if needed.
