Today we're going to be taking a look at Part Number PK11-934. This is the Pollak wiring harness extension. It's going to feature the seven-way RV style connector. You can extend your factory harness to a new location or add a different style connector without having to remove your factory harness. This is a three foot extension, so it's going to extend your vehicle's seven-way RV style connector. One end of the wiring harness is going to plug into the back of your existing seven-way. That's going to be this portion here with the plug.
The other end has the exposed wires. That way it can hard wire into a new connector. If you need a new connector, you can find those right here at etrailer.com. We offer quite the variety when it comes to different style connectors. It's going to feature a protective wire loom that goes around the wires. This is going to keep them safe and away from damage.
This system is designed for vehicles with factory seven-way connectors. Again, the length of the extension is going to measure three feet long. Just a reminder that before installing a new connector, you always want to test the wires for appropriate circuits to make sure that you're making the correct connections. Extend your factory harness to a new location or add a different style connector without having to remove your factory harness with this handy 3' extension.I would recommend shopping for a different product than this one. There are fairly standard color codes for the wiring to make it easy to hook up with the trailer. Only one of the seven wires was in the correct position, and it was the yellow center wire that is not normally used. The white wire that is normally used for a ground wire is heavier duty than the others, but it was not connected where the ground wire connects to the tow vehicle. Even worse, the connector to the tow vehicle uses very flimsy metal pins, and they did not make electrical contact with the plug on a Ford F-150 truck. I even tried bending them to make contact, but to no avail! Avoid this item.
I needed this unit to convert the connection on my Dodge Durango to the European trailer connection. Connected through a junction box worked OK.
I was surprised that a standard unit for this conversion was not available.
