Video Transcript for Thule RV Wheel Levelers Review

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Thule RV wheel levelers, and this is gonna be a great option for when you're out on the go in your camper and where you're planning to camp isn't quite level. And this is gonna be quick and easy option to drive up on there and level it out. So here we actually have our leveler and the great part is there's multiple different levels. So if you want to fine tune, adjust your leveling of the vehicle, whether the terrain might be a little bit off one wheel or the other, that's no problem. And in fact this lowest one here, we have an inch and three quarters.

It then goes up to three inches, then four and a half. And then overall height, where we have our stopping plate here is gonna be five and three quarters. So not terribly tall, but just enough to adjust it. Now the overall length is gonna be 22 inches, so that's gonna accommodate some of your larger diameter tires. It's also gonna be seven and five eighth inches wide.

And so even if we're putting it on the front, which is a larger tire here, or even on the dually in the rear, it's not gonna give it too much problem, because it has support throughout the whole thing. It's very solid. It is made from heavy duty plastic, but rated at 10,000 pounds, I'm not too worried that these are going to break and they're also UV resistant and they're not really gonna break down over time. They're gonna be with you, especially when you keep 'em in your storage bag, in your storage compartment. And that way, when you're at the camping site you can bust them out and they'll be ready to go.

So now let's go ahead and put 'em to the test. Now we're here in the parking lot of etrailer, but this is to simulate any place that you might be camping. In fact, a lot of campgrounds aren't as maintained as they should be leaving you with an uneven surface. Or if you're off the grid, you never really know what surface you're gonna be at. Either way, having a level surface where you actually make your camp at is pretty crucial for the comfort of the people inside, and just overall stability of the vehicle.

So as you can tell from the angle of our camper we're leaning quite a bit and we need to fix that to make sure that we have a good camping experience. So to get our RV back to a level form we'll take our leveler and we can place this here in front of our rear tire. And this is a dually here and that's gonna be no problem as well, because this is nice and wide to support wider tires. So we have this one in place and we'll go put the leveler in the front and we'll pull up and get this thing leveled out. Now we're doing this to kinda level our camper from the side to side, but if you we're uneven on the back or the front you can simply use them in a pair in the front, or the back, or the side, whatever makes it level for you. My leveler is in place. I'm gonna just pull forward and we're gonna be going up each step until we determine the perfect leveling spot for where we need to be. And that's the great part is, there's multiple steps, depending on how much we need to actually adjust it. So let's pull forward. Now for this step it might be helpful to have a spotter to make sure that those levelers are staying planted, but also just to see how level the RV is. It's kinda hard to tell when just being in the driver's seat here. So having an extra set of eyes to see the vehicle actually level is definitely gonna help. Now once you're actually on the levelers and you're happy with the level that you're at and everything looks good, highly suggest putting your parking brake on, that way it's not going to roll. And then you're ready to actually start using your camper in a nice level playing field. Now, here inside the camper I can actually walk around knowing that the ground is level. I'm not gonna be swayin' to one side or the other. And also as I move side to side, the suspension of the vehicle moves, but it feels extremely planted. And the great part about those levelers are they're actually rated at 10,000 pounds per leveler. So they're gonna be really strong, especially with a heavier vehicle. And also they're nice and wide to create a nice planted spot on the ground. So it does give you that secure feel. So once you're done with your wheel levelers you can actually just back off of them and it comes with a storage bag to fit both of them in there. And that way you'll always have them with your camper and they're gonna stay nice and clean and protected in that bag. And that was a look at the Thule RV wheel levelers. Now another great feature of these is not only can you use them to level your camper, but also a dual purpose as a nice wheel chock here. And that's one less thing that you have to carry around. These can serve as two in one..

Love these....because they are gray in color!...I have them attached to my bumper on my Ram Promaster and they look great...much better than bright yellow!

by:

Pretty solid levelers. I have not used them yet, but I'm confident I will like them. The bag to carry them is canvas and well-built.

Online shopping was easy. Product was as expected- durable and efficient. Customer service was exceptional. As we are traveling in a rv I had order shipped to a post office in Lewisville New York. Tried to give them a heads up by calling ahead 5 different days with no answer. They send the package back( never had a us post office do this to me in 37 states). Lori with customer service redid the order and we sent it to a post office in Ohio. Received with no problem. I appreciate customer service that really cares-good move etrailer. Get on the ball Lewisville post office and answer your phones!

Just received my RV levelers and at initial inspection they seem very well made and I’m certain they will be a great addition for my class B rig. Love the carrying case it will be nice for storing them in the RV. Like everything I have purchased from etrailer, high quality and exactly what I needed. Thanks

by:

I had the Harbor Freight version for years, they have deteriorated. etrailer had these at an extremely good price for a Thule product. I assumed they would be much better than the HF version. Actually they are about the same, but still ok at the sale price and came with a nice bag.

by:

I really like these levelers.
Heavy
and wide enough for my RV tires, rugged on not perfectly flat surfaces, and I like the carrying case it comes with!

by:

Looks like an excellent product. I will be using them next month on our 36day road trip.

by:

Much more sturdy than the yellow ones that broke in one season

by:

RV owner beware! These are too narrow for your tires. They look like quality levelers and the storage bag was nice too. Unfortunately, I didn’t do the math(!) before ordering and they are too narrow for my 235 mm tires. These are 200 mm and it states in the instruction manual “Make sure the width of the tyre is at least 20mm smaller than the surface width of the leveler.”. So I have to return them.

by:

Very pleased with the levels. They are very sturdy and supported my class c navion. Delivery was very prompt and Paul was very helpful. Thank you.

I checked and it does look like the original package was lost. We sent out new chocks and I wanted to see how you liked them?

they were just the right size for the dual wheels in the back of the motorhome. The product is built well and the storage bags were perfect.

by:

Having just received the package I haven't had a chance to actually use them under the RV trailer wheels. But I sure like the design, the ability to use multiple heights and the handy carrying bag.

I am very happy with them after using them for a year.

by:

Looks solid let's see if it can stand up to the motorhome weight as rated

by:

We’ll be trying ours
New levelers next’s
month but what we see in the quality they should work great.

by:

Excellent service and quick shipping.

by:

A must to carry for leveling, under your jack stand, under the leveling jacks. Rugged item!!! Helps to protect damage to asphalt as they prevent sinking in.

by:

Very happy with the new Thule levers can’t wait to give them a try .as soon as this self quarantine for covid 19 passes and we can start camping

  • Leveling the Crossbars on a 2018 Acura MDX to Mount a Rooftop Tent
I spoke with a contact at Thule, and they said that no roof rack is completely parallel with the ground. However, there are a few things you can do to ensure the tent is level. Most of these tricks are used by RVers for leveling their trailers. First, park your car on terrain that will have your 2018 Acura MDX's front slightly lower to even things out. Second, you can use a wheel leveler like part # TH307617. With your back tires on these, you'll achieve the level you're looking for....

  • Maximum Tire Width Recommendation For The Thule RV Wheel Levelers # TH307617
The instructions included with the Thule RV Wheel Levelers # TH307617 do state that the tires should be 20mm narrower than the width of the levelers for even support across the tires. That being said, these levelers are intended for motorhome use and most motorhomes are going to have a wider tire than 7-5/8" (roughly 194mm) and most people just ignore this guideline. You wouldn't really damage your tires, you'd just not have as much even support and could run the risk of more weight leaning...

  • Weight Capacity Of The Thule RV Wheel Levelers # TH307617
The Thule RV Wheel Levelers # TH307617 have a 5,000lb weight capacity per leveler so you can rest assured that your using two for one side of your motorhome will be enough to have the 14,500lb GVWR of your Thor Class C Motorhome.
