These connectors give you the functionality of a 7-way connection, but without any pins or blades to bend or break. They're designed to create a secure, watertight connection that lasts. Strong magnets in both the plug and the socket keep the connection tight and secure, even when you're driving on rough terrain. Built-in O-rings create a seal to keep out water and debris. And spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts are long-lasting and easy to clean. These factors combine for a strong, durable connection that's easy to use and to maintain.

Magnetic Plugs Stay Connected

The EZ Connector system uses magnets inside the plug and socket to hold the connectors together. Simply insert the trailer-end plug into the vehicle-end socket and the internal magnets will snap them together, no latch needed. To disconnect, just pull the plug out by hand.

This is an improvement over typical trailer connectors, which rely on a plastic latch on the socket lid to hold the trailer plug in place. With any trailer connector it can be easy to forget to disconnect the wiring when you unhook your trailer. If you drive off without disconnecting a standard 7-way plug, the connector will get pulled out of the socket, likely tearing off the lid. Without a lid, the electrical terminals are exposed to damaging moisture and debris. But if you forget to remove the EZ Connector plug when unhooking your trailer, the plug will simply disconnect from the receptacle as you drive off.

Magnets

The magnets inside of these trailer connectors are made of neodymium, an extra-strong, rare-earth alloy. These high-quality magnets ensure a tight connection between the connectors that is stable enough to make it through intense bumps and road vibration.

Silicon O-Rings Create Watertight Seal

O-rings

The EZ Connector trailer-end plug has a double O-ring that will create a watertight seal with the socket when it's inserted into the vehicle-end connector.

Dummy Plug

Once you disconnect your trailer from your vehicle, just insert the included dummy plug into the EZ Connector socket. This plug also has a double O-ring designed to seal to the socket, keeping out moisture and debris.

Plug Holder

A storage holder is included to keep the trailer-end EZ Connector plug safe and dry when it's not in use. This holder conveniently attaches to your trailer so that it is always available when you need it. This ensures that the terminals on the plug and socket stay protected from moisture and debris at all times.

All of the EZ Connector systems have earned a perfect score on the SAE water submersion test. This means that the seal created on these connectors will stay watertight, even if the connectors are completely submerged in water for extended periods of time.

No Pins or Blades to Bend or Break

Plug Terminals

The EZ Connector plug and socket both have spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts instead of pins or blades. Pins and blades can bend, corrode, and even break off, which can lead to a permanently damaged connection. With the EZ Connector system, there are no pins or blades to bend or break. Because there are no pins or blades, there are also no pin sockets on the trailer-end plug that can trap debris. And if any dirt or debris does collect on the terminals of either end of an EZ Connector setup, it can be quickly and easily wiped away. No more scraping pins to get grime off. The result of all of this is a quality, effective connection every time you plug in.

While I think the plug will perform very well (well made, excellent sealing ability), I was stimmed by the truck installation portion of the project. After many trials and errors, I hired an experienced mobile RV service. He too had many problems. After contacting e-trailer, it was determined that the 2002 Ford Excursion 7.3 is NOT "plug and play" wire color to wire color. He gave us the correct wire color connections for the truck and trailer and it worked perfectly.

A very reliable and consistent method of making the truck to trailer 12v hookup. Weather impervious have experience travel in heavy snow and rain. Highly recommend this connection to the traditional 7-way.

by:

This is a very strong connector. No more bad connections on the road! Excellent product. For me as a female, disconnecting the plug is actually a bit difficult because the magnets are so strong. But I manage and it feels great not to worry about this connection anymore.

The connector is still working great. The seal is strong and I never lose connection. I love the feature of having a magnetic cover for the connector when it is not being used. It is protected at all times.

@None That IS a cool feature!

by:

The connectors work very well for sure. They are extremely easy to keep clean so that the electrical contacts are very reliable.

by:

The best trailer connector available. Should be on all Trailers.

by:

Awesome design for an electrical coupler. Prevents unwanted water intrusion and is super easy to use.
Only complaint is that the trailer side pigtail is too short to allow the end user to terminate the connections where needed if you have a long trailer tongue.

by:

Firstly, the product looks and feels like a quality product. The quality of the rubber, the strands of copper in the wire are thin to make the cord more flexible, and the secure grip of the magnet all give the impression of quality. The mounts are nice and the covers on each end fit really nice.

Secondly, my interaction with Dena was really helpful and professional. She really made an extra effort to make sure the order was correct and she was so polite about it.

I always had connection problems with the spade connectors and was never quite sure if my trailer lights would be blinking when I walked around to check the lights. I use one van and have 3 trailers for different purposes. There's nothing more annoying than seeing the lights are out when you want to take off in a hurry. The bolts are stainless which is always a sign of a quality product.

I think direct flat surface pin to pin contact is a reliable means of conducting electricity.

I use the trailer a lot and every time I plug it in, I get the feeling that my connection is secure. No signes of wear or corrosion after one year.

by:

This is by far the best upgrade to my trailer, for the mere fact that I do not have to worry about it coming detached and losing my brakes on a steep down hill,it should be standered on all new trailers if the manufacturers give a darn!

by:

So nice to connect and not have to debug any problems...

by:

I like the design and function off the plugs but the lack of wire for the trailer plug is a big concern. Instead of splicing it would rather have enough to go to the junction box

by:

Good quality wire and plug! Just installed it and will be used often.

by:

I love the convenience of having a magnetic connector. Unfortunately after 6 months the connector gives me problems with a solid connection. If it was just a matter of plug and go I would give 5 stars.

by:

Couldn't be better! My wiring connection went from being a constant worry to a never worry. The EZ Connector just works. I love that it seals. All the connections still look new. Even has a sealing storage receptacle for when it isn't connected. I will never have another camper without it.

by:

I haven't actually used the products as yet, as my new trailer is still on order. I needed to get my Chevy Equinox tow ready so I ordered early. As usual, etrailer.com was very prompt with my shipment. Everything arrived with plenty of time to get them to my installer!

Its been wonderful!Late last summer,I made a 4500 mi. run to SW OR to pick up a car that I had bought. I ran into a blizzard in WY mind you, it was still Summer with all the muck & slush Ma Nature could muster. Didnt have a bit of trouble with the trailer electrics! I am very satisfied!!!

by:

I really like dealing with etrailer.
Great
selection at very competitive prices.
My last order arrived with one item slightly damaged. etrailer made it right quickly, easily and no hassle.
Bought the EZ connector trailer plug system for a new truck. A well thought out system that sure looks like it's going to be way better then any other trailer plug I've seen.

I needed a good waterproof connector for my snowblower and I think I just found one. I didn’t get it connected yet but I think it’s going to work

Great I’ve had no problems with this winter with my big snowblower

by:

I have converted my trucks and trailers to the magnetic EZ Connectors. I love them and I recommend them. They are trouble free in my experience. They stay clean and functional in all kinds of weather.
From time to time we have someone else using one of our trailers, etc., so having adapters available is a good idea.
Great service from etrailer.com

by:

I was tired of having connection problems with the standard 7 prong trailer plugs, I did not like the fact that I could not count on my trailer brakes 100% of the time to help me stop or slow down in an emergency. After doing some research I found that people were having good luck with these EZ Connectors. I was working on my standard plugs all of the time. I know that rough dirt roads and driving over roads treated with magnesium chloride did not help with my connection issues, but I finally had enough and purchased what I believe is the best trailer connector made, The EZ Connector is completely sealed and the contacts are under constant pressure when in use, It also came with magnetic caps for both ends to keep the socket clean when I am not pulling. It is made in the USA so that makes me happy as well. I am very pleased with this product, and the service I received from etrailer was Top Notch.

by:

I love this connector. When I first read the description for this product I thought where has this product been? I have it installed on my Class A motorhome and Jeep. The best modification ever! When the cables are connected 100% confidence the Jeep tail/brake/turn signals are working. Love it! No more spreading pins or reconnecting cables.

by:

Great item - install is a bit intricate , but the included instructions give plenty of detail to assist . Some electrical knowledge is definitely helpful . Security of the connection is the primary reason this is a huge upgrade from the normal 7-pin . I have a Propride hitch which puts additional stress on my 7-pin and this completely eliminates any issues .

by:

Have had this product for one year now. We drive a lot of gravel roads with our truck and trailer. The magnetic connection and watertight seal keep all water and debris out of the connections. Haven’t had one issue with poor connections. Will definitely be upgrading more trailers to this connection!

by:

Very secure 7 point electrical connection. Does a good of keeping out moisture.

by:

This product was more impressive than I thought! Once you get the magnetic connector in hand, you can really appreciate the craftmanship and quality.

by:

Just received the EZ Connectors and they are very high quality and I expect them to perform well.

by:

What an excellent product! No more bent pins and lights and trailer brakes not working...

by:

Haven’t install them yet.
From what I
see in real life I can tell they are going to be great. Showed my buddy and he going to order it for his truck.

  • Does The EZ Connector Work On The 2017 Ford F-350?
Hello Tim. So, the EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Trailer Connectors # 319-R7-02 are designed to be universal. It will work on virtually any vehicle with that uses the standard USCAR connectors for its trailer wiring. Did your 2017 F-350 come from the factory with a 7-way plug? If so, it will have the USCAR connectors and the 319-R7-02 will work great. If your 7-way is aftermarket, you would have to splice in the EZ Connector using the # 319-R7-01 kit.

  • 7-Way Trailer Connector Tab Wont Line Up with Notch on Receptacle
It's possible that the plug or receptacle was made improperly. If you would like to try and shave some plastic off either side to make it work you're welcome to do so but I recommend switching them out so you don't ever have to worry about a loose fit or the plug/receptacle failing again. This is a great opportunity to upgrade as well to the EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Trailer Connectors part # 319-R7-01 which is soo much easier to plug in and remove.

To upgrade the 7-way setup of your 2020 Ford F-250 to the watertight EZ connectors the correct kit you'd need is the part # 319-R7-01 which comes with everything to convert both the trailer and vehicle wiring.

Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out! I don't know why Lance chose to make their own unique connector but I do know that it's been a pain point for Lance camper owners for quite a while. We actually recommend cutting off the Lance connector and replacing it with a standard 7-Way like the Hopkins # H20046 so the connector will match perfectly with your 2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty 7-way socket. Just be sure you wire the Hopkins wiring to the correct function instead of trying to match wires...
