It took awhile to receive my order, but I was informed by e-mail and was kept informed when I should expect delivery. Luckily, was in no rush, so I would reply and wait for an update from you.
i received the connector in good condition. Thank you!

by:

Installation went well and works fine. Only issue was the screws included with the product were not the right ones so had to replace which wasn't a big deal.

by:

Excellent products that resolved my trailer connection issues. The "Hopkins Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter 4-way flat to 7 blade HM47200" and the "T-1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Flat Trailer Connector 118334" were the perfect combination for the quick, simple and successful installation on my 2001 Dodge Durango. Along with the great products "etrailer" provided helpful information on their website, and fast shipping! Thanks again!

by:

The adapter works great! I used it the day that I got it. I have an 18' car trailer that I just needed to take down to get a VIN inspection and I wanted to use my Jeep Wrangler because it's so easy to maneuver the trailer. I plugged the 7 blade from the trailer into the adapter, plugged the 4 wire flat into the Jeep, connected the ground wire, and the lights and turn signals all worked fine!!!!

by:

Used the wiring harness and an adapter plug to give my Cherokee a factory installed towing kit look. No connector wires visible. Great product.

by:

Fast shipping

by:

Used this to install a 7 pin plug on my vehicle instead of having to use an adapter on the 4 pin plug. Hooked it up to the travel trailer and lights worked great.

by:

Excellent customer service!

by:

Simple install. I was going from a 4-flat plug to a 7 blade without trailer brakes, so it was nice and simple. I was going to cut the extra wires off, but decided against it. I just zip-tied them up out of the way JIC I need them later.

by:

Good product. I wish I had noticed that it didn’t come with a mounting bracket but that’s my fault!

by:

Simple plugs right in to existing 4 pole (flat) ground the white wire and lights will work but 3 more wires still need hard wired inn . 10 min install

by:

Product works great as described

Able
to pick up new trailer 7 pin connector with my explorer which has a four pin connector.

by:

The 4 Pin Flat to 7 Pin Trailer Connection was very hard to find. Thanks for the Products that you make of high Quality. You won’t go wrong with ETrailer Products.

by:

  • How to Ground the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter # HM47200
The ground wire from the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter, # HM47200, should be grounded to either a clean, bare metal surface on the frame of the vehicle or to an existing ground stud on the vehicle. On the trailer side, the ground wire from the trailer connector should be connected to a clean, bare metal surface on the trailer frame. I have attached a typical trailer wiring diagram and highlighted the vehicle and trailer ground wires for you to check out.

  • Troubleshooting no Running Lights with the Hopkins 7-way to 4-way Adapter part # HM47200
The Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47200 that you referenced should work well without any modifications. It sounds like the running light issue you are seeing is on the 4-way of his F150. Use a circuit tester like our part # 3808 to test the pin with the brown wire coming out of it for voltage when the head lights or running lights of his vehicle are on. If there is no voltage there then the problem is on the vehicle side of the wiring. Trace the circuit...

  • Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Locks Up Trailer Brakes Till Brake Pedal is Pulled Forward
You have a bad brake pedal switch. It's sticking which is why your brake lights are staying on and your brake controller wants to lock the brakes up. You can try cleaning the switch with some electric parts cleaner to see if you can get it to work smoother and free up but what you really need is a replacement switch.

  • Troubleshooting 2011 Lincoln MKX That Will Not Start After Installing The 7 Pin Wiring
Since your vehicle has power, you will want to check your battery. It sounds like you have enough power to run your lights, etc, but don't have the cranking amps to turn over your vehicle. If your battery does have the cranking amps, then check the ground wire from your battery to the frame and the new ground wire on your 7-way. You want a bare metal to metal connection. We can keep troubleshooting if you have an issue after trying these options.

The Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 7-Blade Item # HM47200 does have a white ground wire going to the 4-way flat connection. The contrast on the photo may be hard to differentiate on your screen or mobile device. It is there though, so no there will be no problem!

  • Hopkins Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47200 Recommendation for a 2003 Dodge Dakota
Yes, the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47200 that you referenced would work great for you and would only require you to plug the 4-way of the adapter into the 4-way of your 2003 Dodge Dakota and the trailer lights would function.

  • 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter Recommendation for a Trailer That Does not Have Brakes
Since your trailer doesn't have brakes you could use the # HM47200 as an adapter for your 2016 Toyota Highlander. You would just want to tape up the extra wires that wouldn't be used. After that you would just need to plug in the 4-way of the adapter to the 4-way of your vehicle and the 7-way would be ready to plug into the connector on your trailer.

  • Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2015 Chevy Tahoe

  • Is the Hopkins 7-Way Adapter HM47200 Compatible with the Gooseneck 7-Way Adapter 41157
Yes, if you used the # HM47200 as a way to wire in a 7-way on your truck you could then use the part # 41157 as a way to also install a second 7-way in the bed of your truck for a gooseneck hitch or a fifth wheel hitch.

  • Recommended 4-Pole to 7-Way Trailer Connector Adapter
The # HM47200 would indeed adapt your existing 4 pole to a 7-way blade-style trailer connector. In that respect, it would work just fine. However, I typically recommend going with the # 37185 instead, as the adapter also offers a 4-pole connector. If your trailer doesn't have or need trailer brakes or a need for a 12-v power supply, you'd simply plug the adapter into your existing 4-pole, and ground the white tire to the vehicle frame. This will provide you with lighting functions, and...

  • Replacement 7-Way/4-Way for 2006 Dodge Ram 3500
We have the Pollak 7-way and 4-way kit part # HM40975-11933 which is designed to plug into the square connector at the rear of your 2006 Ram 3500 and give you both a 7-way and a 4-way like you are wanting. But whether or not this will plug right into the truck depends on where the previous owner of your truck cut the wiring. If you can trace the wiring back and find the square connector this plugs into then this would be the correct solution. If this connector was cut off then you'd have...

  • 7-Way/4-Way Adapter Recommendation that Has Both Connectors Active
The 4-way and the 7-way sides of the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975 are both active at the same time but you'd most likely find that accessing both connectors at the same time would be challenging due to the lid design of the adapter. A better option that uses the same round connector is the part # 30955 which gives you both trailer wiring connectors active at the same time.

If your 2003 Ford F-350 has a factory installed 4-Way wiring harness then to add a 7-Way you will need adapter # HM47200. You can then follow the installation instructions outlined in the FAQ article I have linked for you. To add a 7-Way in the bed after you have installed the rear 7-Way you will need to use harness # 41157. This will basically plug in line with the rear 7-Way and the long cable allows you to mount the 7-Way receptacle in the truck bed.

  • Can Hopkins Endurance Trailer Connector Adapter Just be Grounded and Other Wires Not Connected
Yes, you can just plug in your 4-Way to the Hopkins Endurance connector, # HM47200, ground it, and not connect the remaining wires if they are not needed. You can tape them up and stow them out of the way. For future reference, the blue wire would connect to the brake output circuit from a trailer brake controller. The red wire would connect to the positive battery terminal via a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540. And the last wire would tap into the reverse light circuit.
