Adapt a 4-way flat to a 7-way RV-style socket while still retaining use of the 4-way. Or simply replace a damaged 7-way connector. Plug into tow package for 7-way, or plug into existing 4-way and hardwire into vehicle to get additional functions.

That plug broke at the spring hinge the second time I used it.
Surprised that Hopkins didn’t include “Butt Connectors” though. Seems a little nickel dimeish.
Had a good experience with Paul who refunded their price for the defective Kit plug as well as refunding the price difference for the wiring kit which had gone from $110 to $48. Overpriced to begin with but convenient.

This was exactly what I needed to convert the factory 4 pin to a combination 4 pin and 7 blade connector. It's been working great with both my trailers.
Worked out pretty good. Had a hard time figuring out just how to attach it. I ended up just zip tieing it. It was a life saver that I could pull the rear plug apart. Made it possible to slide part of the harness thought a tight hole.
Really easy to install. Plugs right in to the flat four wiring. I found a decent spot to mount the bracket and finished the installation. 5 minutes max. At this time I didn’t have to wire up a brake controller. That’s going to be a project for a different time. I would definitely recommend this product.
Easy to install and adds 7 pin connecti on.
I just got it a few days ago and it is not installed. But, it came with mounting hardware and bracket, so that is nice. The wire harness also plugs into the main body which is also a nice feature. I also like that it has a secondary 4 pole socket directly below the 7 pole in case you are pulling a utility trailer without brakes. Build quality seems good. It is all plastic, but doesn't seem flimsy at all. I would recommend this product.
Note that a 7 pole has extra circuits for:
1. charging rv or trailer brake battery
2. rv or trailer brakes
3. backup lights (center pole and purple wire)

This receptacle was easy to install and has worked great. No problems at all.
This plug is really made well and works with ease.
This made fast work for pulling my camp er.
This product was installed on my Lexus RX350. I had the dealer perform the installation.
The Service department appreciated the direct connectivity to the existing trailer wire. We added a connection to a 12 volt source.
It was placed directly on the lower part of the bumper. Looks Great and works correctly.
I had to do a little figuring of where I wanted to put it and how to install it on the car, but ultimately it is working fine. The bracket is a little flimsy but if you push it forward with your other hand when putting in the connector it works fine.
The connector is made of high grade material and was engineered very nicely. This was an easy installation as well. The connector was found to be a reliable device and made us feel safe while pulling our equipment.
This, and everything else I ordered from etrailer came without a hitch. They also provided great customer service, answering my question about another product in a timely and complete way.
Perfect fit with factory wiring harness connector.

Perfect attachment method
Easy to install, this kit was a breeze. I do wish that the install instructions were more informative but that's no biggie if you know your way around a vehicle.
Perfect for connecting the tail lights from my RV to my car on the car dolly.
Great product for hooking up my camper and or trailer with no problems to my 2007 jeep liberty. Recommend this product for people who want do the same.

I originally felt that this adapter was overpriced but after realizing how simple this made the install it was money well spent

Premium price! Only time will tell how durable the product will be
