4-Way to 7-Way Adapter Recommendation for a Trailer That Does not Have Brakes
Question:
I have a 2016 Toyota Highlander and they dealer installed a four pin harness. I have a 2002 Skamper that has a 7 pin flat blade wiring harness - but no trailer brakes. What do i need to adapt my 4 pin vehicle to the 7 pin trailer - and if i get this part do i need to actually connect the other wires or just tape them to the side?

Since your trailer doesn't have brakes you could use the # HM47200 as an adapter for your 2016 Toyota Highlander. You would just want to tape up the extra wires that wouldn't be used. After that you would just need to plug in the 4-way of the adapter to the 4-way of your vehicle and the 7-way would be ready to plug into the connector on your trailer.
