1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee

This tire has a 1-year worry-free guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way, it will be replaced at no charge.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Ordered these as a replacement for my boat trailer tires. My tires were starting to dry rot and the galvanized wheels were turning. These tires are great so far! Load range d so I feel better than I did with the load range c that I had. I hope to get several years of service out of these

by:

Excellent combo fit perfectly on my boat trailer , upgraded from 6ply tire to the 8ply
Handles so much better on the road , got my order very fast

Still working perfectly many trips made safely tires still look new

by:

Service and delivery was very good. Disappointed that the tires were already 1 year and 8 months old. That means I might 3 years use out of the tires. They are for my camper and should be changed out between 4 to 5 years to avoid blowouts. Plus warranty is from the date manufactured. DOT on tires were 3122 and 3322. Was told there was a high turnaround on the tires so I shouldn't worry about getting tires almost 2 years old. Age of tires is important on trailers.

I understand that you are disappointed in the age of the tires. I can tell you that the manufacturers tell us that the tires do not age in proper storage. Our warehouse is climate controlled and is ideal for tire storage. You will have the full use of the time frame that the tires would last.

by:

I received a tire that was 3 months shy of being two years old. Trailer tires don't have the longevity of car tires and hence one wants to get the most out of them as possible because of their expense. If I would have known that I was getting a nearly two year old tire I would not have purchased from etrailer. I won't buy from etrailer again and don't recommend others do.

by:

Great prices on wheel / tire sets and super quick shipping! Thanks you for the great communication as well. Keep up the great work.

by:

The tires on my 2010 camping trailer were 6 years old and had cracks in the sidewall so it was time to replace. The tire and rim combo was the way to go, if you just buy the tires you will have to spend time and dollars to get them mounted, the combo makes it fast and easy. I also repacked my bearings and am now ready to tow it to Florida with my glossy new rims. I was also surprised to see each tire packed in a box , good job etrailer!

These are an awesome upgrade to your trailer with 13" tires
These went on a Coleman tent trailer. This is the big one with all the stuff making it heavy.
The old load range C tires look like it was run on the sidewalls of the tire as the trailer is heavy.
The new load range D tires with the extra 15 psi (65) made the difference. Looks normal now.
I also ordered the 3,500 axle leaf spring purches TRSS238 I'm going to weld them to the top of the axle to mount the springs above the axle. This gains 4.25" lift. Needed as it drags just going out of the driveway lol

by:

The tires were 15 months old when they arrived. I hoped they would be less than one year old, because I replace the tires when they are seven years beyond the manufacture date. Up to three months-great! Up to six months - acceptable. Over a year old. They qualify as new/old stock in my book. Delivery, communication, ease of navigating the website-all hood. My disappointment is in the age of the new tires.

by:

Excellent price and quick delivery. That's why I buy all my trailer parts from E-Trailer

They’ve held up well in the Florida sun for this past year. We would definitely buy them again.

by:

I was on vacation and had a tire on the boat trailer just about let go. I noticed the tire was low almost flat when I arrived and was unloading the trailer. I looked and saw that the cords in the tire let go and had protruded out from the tread. My family and I were lucky. I ordered 2 new tires with rims and had them shipped to our cottage . That way I wouldn’t lose valuable family time and get taken to the cleaners by a local shop in the north woods . I ordered Sunday night and received my order on Wednesday . I have ordered many items from e trailer. Cargo hitch hauler with bag, various towing and trailer parts. etrailer is the best place to buy anything for trailers or vehicle cargo accessories. Thank you etrailer. I was in St. Germain WI

by:

Had a difficult time finding trailer tires with the correct load rating locally. Placed my order on Saturday night and the tires and wheels were in my doorstep the following Tuesday! Very happy with the product, love how the wheels are powder coated and not painted. Look great on the boat trailer!

by:

Shipped fast. I had a hard time finding an 8 ply radial in my size and etrailer had it. I really only needed tires but the wheels were $$ bucks. Heck my tire shop wanted that to mount new tires to my old wheels. They were ready to install and took me less than 30 min. Luckily my boat and trailer is blue and white so these white wheels look pretty good. These are also powder coated, not painted so they will prevent rust much better.

by:

The product was similar to offers on other sites. In this case, I was able to contact a CSR w/ample knowledge to answer my questions, and on a holiday (4th of July). The price was a bit more than others but having the ability to talk to Chelsea and have all my questions answered is why I went w/E-Trailer. This was another of several purchases I've made through you b'c of CSR's. I am thoroughly happy w/everyone I've spoken to at your company. They are knowledgeable, polite, patient and make me feel my issues are important. The shipping is fast and free and always secure (well packed).

by:

Seem to be nice tires for my small camper. I haven't had them on the road yet but I'm planning on testing them in the near future. The last camping trip which was about one month, I had 2 tire blowouts on lower rated tires. So with these new higher rated tires I am feeling much more confident that "tire blowouts" won't be part of my next camping adventure. The tires were delivered quicker than I expected and I enjoyed talking with customer service who were friendly and helpful. Thanks and keep up the excellent work.

The closest tire and wheel combo we have to the P155/80R13 tires currently on your 1991 Aliner Classic are going to be the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 13" White Mini Mod Wheel item # AM31991. • Difference in Width of Radial and Bias Tires Size ST175/80-13
The width of an ST175/80-13 tire will vary slightly from tire to tire. Some bias tires will be wider than some radials and vice versa. Generally speaking, radials will be slightly wider than a bias because of the angle of the cords. Either way the difference in width is going to be very slight. For example: Kenda Bias Tire # AM1ST51 measures 6.81 inches wide Takskmaster Provider Radial # TTWTRTM1758013C measures 6.97 inches wide Kenda Radial # AM31991 measures 7 inches wide So you...

If you want to lower your trailer by 1" you will need a tire with an outer diameter that is 2" less than your current tire. An ST205/75R15 tire like the # AM10244 has an outer diameter of 27.3". In order to reduce the size enough you will have to use a 13" tire like the # AM31991. The outer diameter of this tire is 24.1" so it is 3.2" smaller when compared to the 205/75R15 tire so it will drop your trailer 1.6". We recommend running the same type tire on both sides for safe towing because the different types will respond differently on the road. We need each tire on your trailer to handle the same so we don't have issues on the road. If you decide to go with both bias tires then you need Item # AM3S331. If you want to go with radials you need Item # AM31991. I have radials on my trailer! Radials have more flex to them. Radials grip...

It is not recommend to mix tire sizes on a trailer, as it will cause the trailer to sit unevenly and put additional pressure on one axle. Now in addition your ST175/80R13 tires are radials where the ST185/80D13 are bias ply and these should not be mixed either. These tires have different ply designs and handling characteristics and mixing them on the trailer will cause a very unpleasant and unstable towing experience. Our wheel and tire packages like the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 13" White Mini Mod Wheel # AM31991 come from the manufacturer mounted. As trailer tires do not require balancing the manufacturer will not balance the tires. While we do not have the equipment to balance tires you can easily add the Counteract Tire Balancing Beads # CA83VR that will balance the tires for you as you drive. The kit includes enough beads to balance up to 4 of your tires.

  • Proper Tire Pressure for Trailer Tires
You should not run your tires at 50 psi if their max rating is 65 psi. Trailer tires such as the Karrier # AM31991 always need to be filled to the max psi for the best performance, while reducing the air pressure is going to lessen the load you are able to carry, making the tire's performance uneven and heightening the risk of a blowout.

  • Are Trailer Tires Already Balanced on the Wheels on the Tire and Wheel Combinations?
Trailer tires do not have to be balanced due to the fact that you won't be able to feel the imbalance in the vehicle. Every tire and every wheel has a high (heavy) spot and a low (light) spot. When the manufacturers mount the tires on the wheels, they try to offset the tire high spot and the wheel high spot to provide some balance. You can take them to a tire shop and have them balanced if you want them to be balanced, but they do not need to be balanced to be used on your trailer. Many...

  • Are The Wheel and Tire Combinations Balanced Already?
The tire and wheel combos we carry are not machined balanced. The reason manufacturers do not balance their tires and wheel assemblies like the Karrier Tire and Wheel Combo # AM31991 is because a balanced tire and wheel is not very necessary on a trailer. They do not use drive or steering axles, so they are basically just supporting a vertical load and trailing a tow vehicle and balancing won't do much to improve that or necessarily make the ride more comfortable.
