This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.
The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Out of country manufacturing quality is less than more expensive options.
Very pleased with product. Exactly as described. Easy install. Wont know about long term results on my snowmobile trailer until i use for a season or two. I have very high hopes these will be very good. Finally something that appears to be worth the money.
Worked perfect for my 85’ ez loader to replace my old rusty worn out hubs. Seals were easy to install and works great with my bearing buddy’s. Love having them galvanized. Shipping was fast & etrailer support was fantastic to ensure I was selecting the correct part.

The Hub Drum matched perfectly with the setup that was there before. I am giving them five stars because everything was how they said, and it matched perfectly. I wish they also add a cotter pin to the kit. That way, you do not have to go and get one to complete the job.

Just what I was looking for. GALVANIZED DRUMS for my 4 place snowmobile trailer. Purchased the etrailer drums vs Dexter. Will see how they hold up to the WI,MI. Salts roads. Only wish someone made galvanized electric brake assemblies for the 3500 lb axles. SALT BAD I see galvanized 3500 lb torsion axles for my next purchase.

Made it through 1 season in Wisconsin and UP roads. Still look like new. Have not taken a drum off yet to see how the pads and inner parts look. That’s on the fall to do list. Thanks
The HUB / DRUM assembly seems to be just right for marine use as it is "galvanized". However, it would have been still better if it had been made in USA not proudly cast in China. Hope it holds up as I have had poor results from Chinese cast iron previously. Great service from etrailer!!

Have not had much chance to use the boat since the [corona] virus struck, but, so far so good.
Based on others' comments, I was a bit apprehensive about actual parts arrival date so contacted etrailer via chat. I was informed that the fairly exact, quoted "est delivery dates" did not include "processing time", so may not be correct, actual arrival could vary. Positive notes - parts did arrive per quoted time (thanks!); website is easy too navigate and provides significant detail to answer basics; when you do get through to sales reps they are knowledgeable; parts were made in China but decent quality. Less positive sides - it takes a long time to get to a live representative (~25-min and over 50-min); chat takes quite a while to connect too, you can only get to sales and not tech support; hub assemblies arrived with bearings/seals/caps and two parts were defective (bent bearing cage and bent bearing seal - i called/chatted and no one really cared or offered a solution, one rep disconnected, said they would call back, never did); drum brake assemblies have studs and ship without 7/16-20 nuts/washers. So, overall good, but contact can be difficult, and make sure you have backup accessory parts (on-hand or sourced elsewhere) to install.
not etrailers fault but packed damaged and arrived one drum short this is needed badly

Working great after a year. Everything you need to complete your brake job. I recall that when I bought this, it did not picture or describe whether it came with cotter pins for the castle nuts. I am fairly sure that mine came with the cotter pins...at the time I bought some cotter pins labeled for snowplows and they worked fine too.
The parts all fit done and my customer service contact was helpful and responsive. The issues I had were with the shipping department. 1) some parts were missing from the initial shipment, 2) the replacement order was placed quickly but shipped via USPS costing me a second weekend delay, 3) the replacement order was missing a bearing so I had to re-use one of my old bearings to get the job done.

I ordered new axle spindles, brakes, u-bolts and hubs from ETrailer at a cost savings of nearly 50% compared to what I would have been charged here on the Oregon Coast. In addition to my cost savings, Shipping on my (70 lb) order was free and it arrived within 5 days. Etrailer's Tech departments and I exchanged several emails and photos concerning a boat trailer spring issue I was having, they were able to not only solved my problem, but they also saved me from the additional cost of buying new springs. I highly recommending this company for whatever trailer items you may need and do call them if you have any questions or issues with your trailer.
100% will and have ready reccomended etrailer!! I called because I truthfully had no idea what all I needed so I was hoping an expert would help me. My hold time was long, the recording told me approximately how long and it was accurate. Also, it's three weeks before the Fourth of July and everyone wants something to get road worthy. No big deal.
Once Geoffrey was on the phone I was absolutely blown away. He was patient, understood exactly what I was looking for (even though I didn't) and was incredibly helpful in the phone. He took his time to make sure we were going to have everything we needed to get the job done and get camping. He checked to make sure we were ordering the right size, even when our owners manual was super confusing he assisted in how to figure out exactly what we needed.
Shipping... Wow. We placed our order and less than 13 hours later it had been picked, packaged and was on its way to a shipping facility. We received it 2 days after placing the order at 7pm. We are close, but still, that's incredible!

I bought a home made trailer and Tim helped me figure out what axles were under the trailer and what products I would need to bring the trailer up to operational standards. He advised me to get the rust resistant hardware and fixtures. The break components are bolt on and pre assembled. A big help for a man my age (71). The easier the better for me. Bearings were in the drums so all I have to do is grease and install. All components are well made and coated with rust resistant material. Tim made the ordering process simple and painless. One of the major items was going to delay my order, etrailer caught it and emailed an alternate selection that matched exactly. I also noticed one of the adaptors was universal not vehicle specific, they easily canceled the order with no charge. I reordered and it was shipped the same day! Everything was well packed and undamaged on arrival, standard shipping in less than a week!

My items were supposed to arrived on Friday but I did not receive them until Monday. I wanted to put my trailer back together over the weekend so I could go out on Sunday. That didn't happen. Departure what I needed and the shipping was fast. Thank you
I ordered brakes and drums but on two separate orders. All the phone people were very good and stuff shipped the same day. Received everything in good order and all fit correctly.
The hubs were the right fit but some of the spare parts that was packed with them were crushed other than that everything was all right

Greg, with your current electric brake configuration, you have the option of purchasing brakes with e-coating, which fights rust and corrosion with a paint-like coating. But a downside to e-coating is that the paint can wear off or get chipped, allowing rust to start. If you would like to switch to hydraulic or disc brakes, there are many galvanized options available. For a great comparison of the choices available to you, see this link:
