Replacement Hydraulic Drum Brake System for a Single Axle Magic Tilt Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a cart assembled to put brakes on my 2017 trailer. It’s single axle, built by magic tilt. No existing brakes. 14” wheels w 5 lug pattern. Is this all I would need? I want my trailer to back up without needing to do anything.

Yes, you have done your research well. These parts will fit together and allow you to back up without needing anything else. I can confirm that Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator item # DM8609101 will work with the Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Dacromet - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K item # AKUBRK-35-D. These brake assemblies are compatible with the Easy Grease Trailer Hub/Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized item # AKHD-545-35-G-EZ-K. They fit inner bearing item # L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) and outer bearing item # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter).

From my research it looks like Magic Tilt single axle trailers are 9' - 16' long. You can use either the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - 15 Feet item # 15SI-BLKIT or 18 Feet item # 18SI-BLKIT depending on your needs.

You may also need the Brake Adjustment Spoon for Drum Brakes item # W80630.
