Multiple Stacked Receivers for Easy Adjustment

stacked receivers

This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 7 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.

With the 7 stacked receivers, not only do you have the ability to adjust the height of the included ball mount, but you also have the ability to add various other hitch-mounted accessories. Insert a bike rack or cargo carrier. Mount a spare tire carrier. Use a tow bar to flat tow your vehicle. Or just add a fun hitch cover. This heavy-duty mount is built with a 1,500-lb tongue weight, so you can even use multiple hitch accessories at the same time, as long as there are no clearance issues. This means that you can use your hitch-mounted bike rack to haul your bikes while also flat towing your vehicle.

Well built receiver & it got me to the perfect height for towing My Jeep LJ on 37" tires.
etrailer had everything I needed including great service & awesome installation videos.

by:

The customer service was above and beyond what we expected to get. The hitch arrived much sooner and was just what we needed to pull our enclosed trailer behind our motorhome. It has not given one ounce of trouble, very sturdy and well pleased with etrailer.com. Highly recommend.

by:

Great product came when it was supposed to with no delays. This definitely won’t be the last one I buy!

by:

This is a serious drop hitch, the stacked receivers are awesomely versatile

by:

Tryed almost every drop hitch out there in canada but this product I had for 1 year now and it is a monster I recommend highly for lifted trucks, Amazing product.

by:

Beefy; never a shadow of a doubt that it will hold up to anything I tow with it. Solid fit with zero wobble. It is heavy, but that is a positive to me as I prefer strength above all else for a purpose such as this.

Works great for towing trailers with different heights of sway bar hitches. The ability to put whatever kind of hitch you want at any height is invaluable, I will probably never have to buy a drop hitch ever again in my life, the construction on this is very stout.

by:

After using it, but they standard trailer the ball hitch cracked did not know who to reach out to called you guys multiple times and no response

by:

The hitch was perfect for the job that I was working on.95 bronco, which I mounted it at the front of vehicle so that the customer can move boats around while looking at the front windsheild. Also was able to use it at the rear of vehicle also.Perfect choice.

by:

This hitch is solid! We used it to flat-tow a Jeep behind our motorhome and use the top slot for the bike rack. It was super solid and performed perfectly during this 4500+ mile trip.

by:

Very heavy duty stacked receiver and dual ball. Combined with the stabilizer bars i feel safe hauling my trailers. Still able to use my other hitches with this receiver too.

by:

I've not towed with it yet, but it's very high quality and seems way overbuilt. I like the hammered finish and the components are very nice. Once I figured out how they work, Gen-Y's 'twisting lock pin' is easier to use than a standard cotter pin and adds some piece of mind that it's not going anywhere. Love that you can store the ball mount in front of the hitch when not using it - including sideways so that it doesn't reduce ground clearance, even when in the lowest receiver. The only thing I don't like about it - which etrailer comments on in the online item description - is that it doesn't fit very snug. Combined with the 2-1/2 to 2" reducer sleeve, there's a fair amount of play. Not sure yet if this is going to create rattling when towing (that would reduce my stars). One note: based on the Gen-Y website's method for determining the appropropriate drop for my vehicle, I should have ordered the 10" drop. I did my own measuring and ordered the 7-1/2" drop instead, which works perfectly for my 2021 RAM 3500 SRW 4x4.

by:

All in all a good set up. A lot more play in the receiver than I expected. Fair amount of rattling around without a trailer attached. In all fairness I do live in a state with poor roads.

by:

Has done what it is supposed to do. I have used the hitch to tow two boats over the last two years using both ball sizes. The only issue is the appearance. Saltwater creates rust and break down of the coating on the hitch. Was never dunked in salt has been effected being near saltwater. Hitch was washed with freshwater after each use in salt.

I probably wouldn’t buy again. I have seen some other hitches that can do similar adjustments that do better near saltwater environments.

  • Recommended Ball Mount for 13 Inch Drop on a 2017 Ram
If you are measuring from the inside top of the receiver to the bottom of your coupler then you have a 13 inch drop. I've attached an article to help, but have also included a photo for fast reference. That is a significant drop, so you can use one of the following: Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 12-1/2" Drop - 10K # 325-GH-316 Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 12-1/2" Drop - 16K # 325-GH-516 Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 15" Drop...

  • How Do I know How Much Drop Is Needed When Getting A Ball Mount?
Finding the correct rise or drop will depend on two things. First will be the measurement from the ground to the inside top of your trailer hitch. This measurement will vary between hitch manufacturer, vehicle manufacturer, tire size if not the stock tires, and if a lift is used. As you have the lift and I am guessing tires that are not the stock size, you will definitely need to measure. Once you have this measurement, you will need to measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler...

  • Question About Product Availability "Hitch 16 Inch Male By Female"
Hello David, are you looking for a Patriot Hitches Adjustable Drop Hitch Receiver Adapter in a 16" drop? If so, I am afraid the 11" drop # PH67SR is the largest they make. If you are just looking for a 16" drop ball mount, we do have the BulletProof Hitches 2-Ball Mount # HD2016 which has 17" or drop. We also have the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # 325-GH-317 which is a 15" drop and has seven stacked 2" receivers. I will admit though I am not 100% clear on what exactly you are looking...

  • Longest Drop Adjustable Ball Mount for a 2 Inch Receiver
Our longest drop hitch for a 2" receiver is going to be the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers item # 325-GH-318. This adjustable ball mount has a 17-1/2" drop and a 10,000 lbs capacity like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount item # 325-GH-317 you were looking at. The 17-1/2" Gen-Y comes with the recommended stabilizer system as well. You won't be able to add another ball mount to either of these drop hitches to gain the 3" or more you could possibly need so these will...

  • What Is The Best Drop For Ball Mount To Gain Prop Protector Clearance?
If I understand you correctly, it sound like you have a couple of things going. On level ground you want to tow as level as possible, but you don't want to bang up your trailer going in and out of your driveway. I recommend you go with an adjustable ball mount like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 12-1/2" Drop - 16K # 325-GH-516 or the 15" Drop - 10K # 325-GH-317. • Availability of Ball Mount with More Drop Than 12-1/2
If you are wanting a ball mount with a further drop than the 12" Drop Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount # AMSC12 you will need a Gen-Y Hitch like part # 325-GH-317 which has a 15" drop. Aside from that we don't have a "traditional" ball mount with as much length or drop as the Convert-A-Ball option that you referenced. Gen-Y does recommend using a stabilizer bar kit like part # 325-GH-0100 to help keep their hitch from wobbling. I also recommend installing a hitch lock like part # 34061072-D to...

To determine the correct ball mount for your 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 that has a 3" leveling kit and you are planning on putting 35" tires on you will need to measure from the ground to the top inside edge of the trailer hitch receiver on your truck, and the with your trailer level you will need to measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. The difference between these numbers is the amount of drop you need. If you measure the height of your hitch right now you will need to add...

  • Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/Stacked Receiver And Hitch Mounted Bike Rack
It sounds like you're trying to mount a bike rack on your Gen-Y Ball Mount using a hitch adapter on the top receiver with enough clearance to not interfere with your trailer's jack. I'm not going to tell you that you can't do this (and Gen-Y says it's ok to do), but honestly, I think your best bet is returning the Gen-Y 5" Rise/Drop # 325-GH-214 that you just bought and going with one that can give you the rise you need without using a hitch adapter for your accessory. • Measuring Ball Mount for Deep Drop Needed to Tow Trailer Level
The frustration is in where you are measuring. The measurement is from the top of the shank othe the bottom of the ball platform. This is what will get you the correct ball height because the coupler will sit over the hitch ball. So if you are measuring your trailer coupler when level, then you measure from the bottom of the coupler to the ground and then from the ground to the inside top of your receiver opening on your trailer hitch to get the proper drop. This is how all manufacturers...
