The hitch is heavy and appears well-made. Paint finish is excellent. Two suggestions: the top weld could be smoothed a bit more. This is only an appearance matter, very minor. Second, hitch is supplied with two pins -- not locking. Please -- on a $250 item, the extra cost of furnishing locking pins must be small. Yet, I have locking pins already (for class III) which I assume will work fine for class Iv hardware. And any buyer can always order locking pins. I bought this to tow a U-Haul car trailer on an F150 with max tow package. Have not tried it yet.

Works great for towing trailers with different heights of sway bar hitches. The ability to put whatever kind of hitch you want at any height is invaluable, I will probably never have to buy a drop hitch ever again in my life, the construction on this is very stout.

by:

After using it, but they standard trailer the ball hitch cracked did not know who to reach out to called you guys multiple times and no response

by:

The hitch was perfect for the job that I was working on.95 bronco, which I mounted it at the front of vehicle so that the customer can move boats around while looking at the front windsheild. Also was able to use it at the rear of vehicle also.Perfect choice.

by:

This hitch is solid! We used it to flat-tow a Jeep behind our motorhome and use the top slot for the bike rack. It was super solid and performed perfectly during this 4500+ mile trip.

by:

Very heavy duty stacked receiver and dual ball. Combined with the stabilizer bars i feel safe hauling my trailers. Still able to use my other hitches with this receiver too.

by:

I've not towed with it yet, but it's very high quality and seems way overbuilt. I like the hammered finish and the components are very nice. Once I figured out how they work, Gen-Y's 'twisting lock pin' is easier to use than a standard cotter pin and adds some piece of mind that it's not going anywhere. Love that you can store the ball mount in front of the hitch when not using it - including sideways so that it doesn't reduce ground clearance, even when in the lowest receiver. The only thing I don't like about it - which etrailer comments on in the online item description - is that it doesn't fit very snug. Combined with the 2-1/2 to 2" reducer sleeve, there's a fair amount of play. Not sure yet if this is going to create rattling when towing (that would reduce my stars). One note: based on the Gen-Y website's method for determining the appropropriate drop for my vehicle, I should have ordered the 10" drop. I did my own measuring and ordered the 7-1/2" drop instead, which works perfectly for my 2021 RAM 3500 SRW 4x4.

by:

All in all a good set up. A lot more play in the receiver than I expected. Fair amount of rattling around without a trailer attached. In all fairness I do live in a state with poor roads.

by:

Amazing hitch will NEVER buy another! Quality craftsmanship, excellent service from etrailer!

by:

Has done what it is supposed to do. I have used the hitch to tow two boats over the last two years using both ball sizes. The only issue is the appearance. Saltwater creates rust and break down of the coating on the hitch. Was never dunked in salt has been effected being near saltwater. Hitch was washed with freshwater after each use in salt.

I probably wouldn’t buy again. I have seen some other hitches that can do similar adjustments that do better near saltwater environments.

by:

Holy crap, thing is built like a tank. Needed it to lower my front mount to accommodate a ebike rack. Worked great!

Oh my sweet adjustable hitch from the future, where have you been all my lifted truck life?! ?? Let me tell you, this GenY adjustable hitch is like the superhero sidekick my overgrown, behemoth of a Dodge 1 ton needed to conquer the highways and byways with style, swagger, and an adjustable drop that's got me feeling like a towing wizard!

Picture this: my truck, the size of a small building, with tires that could probably qualify as a down payment for a small country. And then there's the trailer – it's like a mobile home with an identity crisis. Traditional hitches quiver in fear when they see my rig coming, but not the GenY. Nope, this hitch faces my truck's titanic drop with a grin and says, "Bring it on, buddy!"

So, what's the deal with this hitch, you ask? Well, let me break it down for you while keeping my excitement level in check (which is near impossible):

Adjustable Awesomeness: The GenY hitch doesn't just drop – it swoops, it dips, it twirls. Okay, maybe not twirls, but you get the idea. You want to tow your luxury yacht or your miniature house? Boom, this hitch adjusts to whatever mind-boggling height difference you can throw at it.

Zero Drama, All Towing Nirvana: Remember the time when towing made your truck feel like it was dragging a herd of elephants through a mud pit? Yeah, those days are over. With the GenY hitch, my Dodge struts its stuff like a runway model with a trailer in tow. Smooth as butter, I tell you. Smooth as butter!

Weightlifting Champion: I swear, I've pulled everything short of a small planet with this hitch. The GenY hitch handles weight like a pro wrestler handles dumbbells – effortlessly! No creaks, no groans, just a confident "I got this" vibe that makes me want to challenge it to a bench press competition. (Spoiler: I'd lose.)

Confidence Booster: Have you ever seen a truck hitch that oozes confidence? Well, you're about to! Every time I back up to my trailer, I can practically hear my hitch saying, "Don't worry, buddy, I've got your back!" And it does, every single time.

Conversation Starter: I can't tell you how many times people have walked by my truck and trailer combo, only to do a double-take at the hitch. It's like having a celebrity accessory for my truck. Sometimes, I feel like rolling down my window and saying, "Oh, this? It's just my GenY – no big deal!"

In conclusion, my GenY adjustable hitch is not just a hitch – it's a legendary partner in crime for my lifted Dodge adventure-mobile. If my truck could write reviews, it would probably leave an even longer, more passionate review than this. But for now, take my word for it – if you're towing with a truck that's on the verge of having its own postcode, get yourself a GenY hitch and let the good times (and the trailers) roll!

by:

This thing is a monster, going to be perfect for what I got it for, had to have a 12 inch rise for flat towing our 2021 raised Jeep wrangler. looked all over for something strong enough for the job, and this beast is perfect.

by:

Amazing thing is a beast best hitch I’ve ever owned I’ll probably never buy another one

by:

Quality product and you can tell by the weight. I believe this will give me many years of service! Going to make sure I get it locked on.

by:

Great production quality and super fast delivery from etrailer!

by:

Showed up on time. Needed a heavy duty hitch for my lifted super duty. Used for first time today and worked perfectly. My beaver tail landscape trailer has to towed level or it bottoms out. With this hitch no worries about towing level. Great product!

by:

Sturdy piece of equipment. Will be with me for years. Not your regular hitch, a little on the heavy side as expected since it's rated to 16k lbs towing capacity.
Doesn't come with the locking pin but at this price you might want to buy your own pin with a locking device to deter unnecessary theft.
Towed my 12k pound trailer with about a 1500 lb tongue weight without issues.

by:

No worries about overloading my hitch receiver with this bad boy. The quality seems outstanding, stainless pin with anti release pin clip. No shortcuts here.

by:

This item is so universal also a good deflector if you might get rear ended! Perfect fit for my 2013 Nissan Rogue. Thank you etrailer.com Very good Engineering... William

by:

This hitch is massive . Very heavy duty. I like how easy it is to change out for different trailers.

by:

Part came as advertised. I was most impressed with the customer service. Quinn F was insanely helpful and thorough. Really made this process easy.

by:

Works well as I have different trailers that require height changes, this fits the bill!

  • Which Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount With Stacked Receivers for Car Hauler
The Gen-Y # 325-GH-313 ball mount offer a rise up to 5 inch or if reversed, a drop of up to 5 inches. The ball mount is compatible with 2 inch receivers and offers a 2 inch and a 2-5/16 inch trailer ball. The ball mount has a 10,000 lb towing/1500 lb tongue weight capacity. I'll link to a help article that shows how to determine the rise/drop ball mount you need. You'll need to measure the inside height of your hitch receiver tube and the height of the trailer when it sits level. The...

  • Recommended E-Bike Rack to Use w/ a Dual Hitch Adapter
I have a solution for you but the Hollywood Racks RV Rider item # HLY64FR isn't compatible with hitch adapters like what you would need to haul the bike rack and a small trailer. Instead you will want the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE item # HLY84FR. This is a comparable bike rack, with an identical capacity of 80 lbs per bike, that is also capable of being used behind any motor vehicle and motorhome. I have linked a review video below for this bike rack. Most dual hitch receivers reduce...

  • Recommended Drop Adapter for RockyMounts BackStage Bike Rack on a 2019 Subaru Ascent with OEM Hitch
Since the bike rack that you have is the RockyMounts BackStage # RKY10002 that has the swinging arm I recommend using a Gen-Y Hitch over the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-10. Reason being that the Roadmaster is typically used for applications where a flat towed vehicle is also being used. I'm afraid that putting that much weight out to the side may not be good for the adapter. We do carry a variety of Gen-Y Hitch adjustable ball mounts that you can choose from. I'm not...

  • Is it Safe to Use MaxxTow Dual Hitch Extender to Carry Bike Rack and Flat Tow a Jeep
Anytime a hitch extender like the MaxxTow Dual Hitch Extender is used it reduces the weight capacity of the trailer hitch it's installed into by 50%. The only way you can safely use it to the full capacity is if your trailer hitch is rated for 8,000 lbs towing and 800 lbs tongue. Since the hitch on your motorhome is rated at 5K that means when using this extender that is reduced to 2,500 lbs towing/250 lbs tongue. The safest solution that we have to offer is to use the Gen-Y Adjustable...

  • Can EcoHitch be Installed with Draw-Tite or Curt Front Receiver on 2019 Ford F-250
That's a really good idea, but unfortunately the tab on the mounting brackets for the Draw-Tite # 65076 and Curt # C31078 actually use the same mounting location as the tab on the EcoHitch # 306-X7904 so you will only be able to install one of these front mount hitches on your 2019 Ford F-250. With that being said, I recommend using the EcoHitch because it has a hidden design which gives you an OEM look when you aren't utilizing the receiver, plus you can then use a Gen-Y Adjustable Ball...

I have a solution for you, but to my knowledge there is not such a product available. There are dual receiver adapters that have the same size receivers on both ends, but I can't say that I've ever seen one with both a 1-1/4" and 2" receiver slot. Instead, you could use something like the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 7,500 lbs # D210 and pair it with the Brophy Hitch Reducer # HT02 to carry a 1-1/4" accessory on the top. • Can Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter be Used with a Winch
I do have a solution for you but when I reached out to my contact at Roadmaster they did not recommend using the Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6 with a winch. Instead what I recommend using is a Gen-Y Hitch. We have part # 325-GH-313 which has a 5" rise/drop and part # 325-GH-314 which has a 7-1/2" rise/drop which you can use. These are much more heavy-duty than the adapters used for flat towing so you can definitely use it with your winch on a mounting bracket like part # BDW20011...

I may have a solution for you to carry your two fat tire e-bikes. I recommend something like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop/Rise - 10K, part # 325-GH-313. This particular model has a 5" rise with a 2" and 2-5/16" ball mounts. If you use a hitch receiver with this adapter for a bike mount, you will reduce the tongue weight of the hitch receiver by 50%.
