Incorrectly listed on etrailers as a 3-1/8” rise, when really this is a 5-1/8” rise (marked correctly on the item itself, but listed incorrectly on this website).

You are 100 percent correct! We are working on updating our site with new measurements for this ball mount. The way that we measure rise and d r o p is a little different than Curt does. We list it as the distance from the top of the inside of the hitch opening to the top of the ball whereas Curt will list it from the as the top of the hitch opening to the bottom of the ball. This one we will list as a 6.5-inch rise.

I am completely satisfied with the product. Great quality and excellent finish. Prompt shipping and excellent customer service. It is stylish and functional and will meet my needs for towing up to 3,500 pounds. I would definitely do business with this company again!!!

by:

The hitch shop wanted $400.00 to get and install the receiver. I ordered the part from you with ease from the website. When it arrived I installed it in less than 30 minutes. I watched the short video on the website and it went right in. All the holes lined up perfectly. The only problem I had was my sockets rolling down the driveway. Great product easy install and great instructions.

by:

Not as versatile as a traditional hitch mount and ball, but much neater if it happens to fit your needs. This fits my Subaru Outback perfectly and places the ball at the ideal height for my trailer. One piece means one less thing to fail.

by:

Looks heavy duty.
Great price and even
better customer service.
It shipped fast and I received it acday sooner than I was told.
This was my 2nd order with etrailer.com and it won’t be my last.

by:

Great product, fits trailer nicely, heavy duty, and very well packed.

I purchased the Hitch from Carid, and it was shipped straight from Curt Mfg. The hitch busted holes in the box from floating around (no packaging materials inside), when I bought this 2" ball from etrailer it came in a etrailer box and was surrounded by brown paper to where the ball/bar didn't shift in the box.

Still works great! Curt makes some good products, no issue with the light wiring, ball, or hitch receiver.

by:

The mount has held up. I've been babying mine so no rust and barely any scrapes on it. It's helped me in a few pinches. Overall very satisfied. The real star is Natalie. I remember her from when I bought the thing. That's excellent example of customer follow through. Good on ya.

Great. No problems. Ive been quite pleased with the hitch. Id recommend it to anyone

by:

This hitch has worked perfectly on my Subaru for over a year now. Last summer I pulled my tear drop trailer around the country with no problems and the finish on the hitch still looks like new. I would recommend this hitch to a friend.

by:

This ball was mounted on our 14' Subaru Forester. It is just the right height to pull our TENTRAX trailer and doesn't interfere with the rear hatch. It also stores easily in the spare tire compartment when not in use. Good Purchase !!

by:

Drawbar works as advertised. FWIW, the TOP of the ball to the TOP of the drawbar is 6-5/8". If the ball was round on top (it is flat, as can be seen in the pictures), the distance would be more like 6-3/4". This should make it easier to detemine if this is the hitch for your needs. I had trouble finding this info on the web.

by:

I love love love European style hitches for sports cars. They look right. The only thing I wish is that they had an option for a higher rise, since the Fiesta ST is a pretty low car.

by:

Need to make a 2" hitch version of this

All of the Curt Euro Ball Mounts are Class II ball mounts designed to fit 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receivers. For a ball mount with a similar rise that fits a 2 inch receiver, you would want something like part # C45341 with a hitch ball # A-90. You could also use a hitch reducer sleeve to allow this Euro Ball Mount to fit a 2 inch hitch receiver, such as part # HT02.

by:

Excellent! Customer service was great too!! I'm using this to haul a pop up camper with my Subaru Outback. A regular hitch makes the connection too close to the bumper. This is perfect!!

by:

Product is perfectly as described. I will just have to get a bit higher rise. Also the chrome plating peeled off ball within a 2 mile drive. So product durability will possibly be an issue. It is just a trailer ball but the plating should not be peeling off this soon.

by:

I was told by the sales rep that this hitch would give 3.25" of rise. When I received it I could tell it was too high so I measured it. It's 5.125" from the bottom of the ball to the top of the square shank, and 6.5" from the top of the ball to the top of the square shank. And it's even printed right on the sticker 5 1/8" rise.

by:

Not much to say. Clean and works! (It's too tall for a VW AllTrack pulling a SylvanSport Go, so I ended up buying one with a little bit less raise/height.)

by:

This item was accurately described, and EXACTLY what I needed to complete my trailering needs. Another pleasant etrailer transaction.

by:

Seems to work like it is supposed to. I bought this for my wife's SUV, picking this style just to offset the look apart from the usual. Based on my trailer tongue height, I would have liked a bit more rise, say 5" total, but everything seems to load and unload easy enough.

by:

Good product solid was easy to install tight fit and the paint still holding up after a year.

by:

Good looking tow hitch - well made and powder-coated. I used the same one in 1-7/8" for a number of years and it is still holding up very well.

by:

Works well, perfect height for the MK7 Golf Sportwagen for a standard trailer neck.

by:

I love this company,They have everything I need and very good service.
This euro mount ball is excellent..
built very strong..

by:

Really helps bring the trailer ball up to a reasonable height on my 2013 VW Jetta TDI sedan.

by:

Unique design and great looks along with unmatched strength make this the drawbar and ball combo of the truly discriminant driver

by:

Love the look of this European hitch. Solid steel not hollow.

I have attached installation instructions for you. If you are planning on doing some light-weight towing, the ball mounts recommend for use with the # C11701 hitch are # C45562, # C45017, and # C45561. The Curt hitch part # C11083 has been confirmed as a fit for your 2001 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon and would have the capacity to tow a trailer as long as it weighed less than 2,000 lbs. You will need to check the owners manual of your vehicle to make sure that it also has the needed capacity to tow your Jet Ski trailer. For a 1-7/8 inch ball mount you would want the part # C45561 or for a 2 inch ball mount # C45562. For trailer wiring you would then want the part # C56175.

  • Trailer Hitch to Carry Bikes with a 2010 Nissan Sentra
To carry bikes on your 2010 Nissan Sentra I recommend the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24794. It is the most popular hitch option for your Sentra. This trailer hitch has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and is rated as a Class I. Because it is a Class I trailer hitch you will need a bike carrier that is rated for use on a Class I trailer hitch and you are limited to carrying a maximum of 2 bikes. For a compatible bike carrier that meets those requirements I recommend the Swagman Trailhead #...

Thank you for the dimensions; you correctly measured from the ground to the top of the hitch on your 2017 Subaru Outback, though the other measurement is from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. Assuming your coupler is roughly 2 inches tall, from the ground to the bottom of the coupler would be approximately 18 inches.
