A cargo box has the added benefits of an aerodynamic shape that reduces drag and wind noise, a hard shell to protect your gear, and a higher degree of weather resistance. And you can latch and lock a cargo box for added protection against theft.
The Motion XT Alpine has 16 cu ft of storage space for golf bags, luggage, skis, snowboards, and other gear. The aerodynamic, low-profile design helps to reduce drag and wind noise, and the locking lid conveniently opens from either side of your vehicle. The box has internal tie-down points for securing cargo, and the PowerClick mounting system offers easy, tool-free installation.
This cargo box is constructed of durable ABS plastic that is lightweight yet rigid and impact resistant. It has a glossy black, gel-coat finish that is stylish and less susceptible to chips, scratches, and harsh UV rays when compared with paint.
The Motion XT Alpine features a dual-side-opening lid so you can load and access your gear from either side of your vehicle. Integrated, grip-friendly handles help you easily open and close the lid even with one hand. The lid has lifters that ensure it opens and closes smoothly. There is also a convenient pull cord on the inside that helps you close the lid.
The cargo box has SlideLock locks on each side of the lid. These locks have built-in indicators that let you know if the box is properly latched. The keys cannot be removed from the locks unless the lid is closed and locked. This prevents you from driving with an open or unlocked lid. The locks include Thule One-Key-System cores so you can swap them out to make all your Thule accessories keyed alike.
The box can be mounted on your vehicle in less than 5 minutes with the PowerClick mounting system. These clamps adjust along tracks in the floor of the box to accommodate different crossbar spreads.
To install the box, set it on your roof rack and center the clamps over your crossbars. Then simply turn the dials to tighten the clamps around the bars. The dials click when the clamps are secure.
The PowerClick assemblies on the inside of the box have fixed anchor points for securing your cargo. Just loop the included cargo straps through the anchor points and pull the straps tight to secure your gear.

This roof box is very sleek in design and I love how low it sits. Everything is wonderful with it; it can fit all my camping gear despite being a slimmer model. I gave it four stars because one of the powerclick clamps that it came with fell apart only after 3 uses and now i’m going to have to drop another $70+ for a replacement. Other than that, I would recommend this item.
Sleek and super easy to install. Love that you can unlock and load from either side of the box. etrailer was amazing to work with. Shipped quick after I purchased and had for an upcoming beach trip.
I like the low profile and being able to open it from both sides. I wish the bottom were flat; it's hard to lay skis down on the binding for tie-down without them flopping over. Cannot mount on 2019 Jeep GC with factory roof rack without tailgate hitting it; wish there were a bumper option of some sort.

It’s the best thing I could have bought for taking my skis etc across country
The carrier arrived sooner than expected and was in excellent shape. The new clamp system made attaching the carrier to the factory installed roof rack of my Toyota Highlander a breeze. Other reviewers indicated an increase in wind nose but I have not noticed such an increase. This is a replacement for an older Thule carrier that only opened from the rear and was a painful installation process. Looking forward to enjoying my alpine cargo box for many years to come.
We're very happy with the quality and capacity of the cargo box. After driving with it the past few days, it's had a surprisingly negligible effect on our fuel economy.

This Thule cargo box meets our needs perfectly. Its high quality, easy to install and take down, and provides lots of supplemental storage space.

I love this Thule cargo box! Very spacious and easy to clean. I receive compliments all the time!
The carrier is very long but not very tall (looks like a TNG space coffin for those of you star trek fans). Because of the extreme low profile it’s quiet and doesn’t drag down the mpg, but I do have trouble using it for some of our bags and suitcases. I even had difficulty with the sleeping bags being too tall. I smushed them a bit to get it closed, but then it wouldn’t lock. The key won’t come out if it’s not locked, so wasn’t worried about it falling out while driving, but it definitely diminishes the functionality…. It’s really my own fault as I didn’t realize that this one seems to be more designed for skis and the like instead of other family cargo that tends to need more height.
Item has minors scratches on cargo box. Overall the delivery date and tracking was awesome!

Love this box, its perfect to move around all of our water skis and gear for the lake in the summer. Bought with the Thule multi lift to store on the ceiling in the garage so I can install with one person. No regrets.
Awesome product. Dont use very often, but lota of extra space when we need it. It is low profile, so even on our Expedition, we still clear all the parage garages we have encountered at beach condos.
Nice, low profile, fits in a standard-height garage on top of an SUV. It would have to be loaded outside but I could at least park it back in the garage overnight before a trip. Opening it is a little rough at first because it feels like it's getting stuck somewhere but I'm sure that'll smooth out with more frequent use. Have driven it also, seems pretty secure, no rattling, minimal noise.
The customer service was outstanding. Communication was A++. The shipping was fast. Would definitely buy again and recommend.

The Box has been a great help for us and has withstood the test of time ! No cracks no damage still looking brand new after a year of use in the sun and snow and high winds on the roof of my cars. I highly recommend this box and all Thule parts and accessories!
