2018 Volvo V90 CC Ocean Race Roof Cargo Box Recommendation
Question:
Hi there, I have a 2018 Volvo V90 CC Ocean Race edition and it came with Thule aero cross bars to match. Volvo makes a cargo box to match the car but they want $3300 for it! Yikes! It looks like a Thule Hyper XL, but I wanted to see if you had any other customers that have purchased items for the new V90. Im looking for something aero with clearance for the rear. Ive attached some photos for reference. Thank you!

Probably the closest Thule Cargo Box to the one Volvo sells is the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629506 which is black or the Silver # TH629707. It has similar cut outs where the mounting hardware is. It's not a total match though as the rear is shaped differently. This will fit the factory bars of your 2018 Volvo V90 though which are Thule bars.
To determine if this will allow your rear hatch to open will require you to measure from the center of your front crossbar back to the hatch seam. If that distance is more than 55 inches the box will allow you to open the hatch.
If you want a slightly larger box, use # TH629807. This is the closest option to the Volvo branded carrier.
