I received my roof top carrier via freight not only on time but Early! 3 days early. Excellent pricing and free shipping was a bonus.
I was very fortunate in regard to this roof top carrier. Etrailer not only had the item-but also an online video review of my exact make and model of Highlander with this carrier. Bonus.
Installed on a 2016 Lexus GX 460 on stock rail and crossbar system. It fit. Antennae is a bit close to box but there is a gap and clearance.
On stock ride height the max height at top of box is nearly 8ft.
Wide and not too tall profile for being so spacious. I like it better than its predecessor the Thule Atlantis. It's lighter than the Yakima with still an extra cubic foot of space.
I wish I could get it to sit even a tad further forward than when the mounting talons are adjusted all the way back. Our van is an Odyssey which unfortunately has fixed crossbars and in my opinion the Honda designers set them too far towards the rear of the roof--choosing look over function. But at least the carrier doesn't contact the rear hatch when open so I'm satisfied.
Just got back from our 3-week road trip from the mid-west to the west coast to the mountains and then back again. We put this atop our 2018 Traverse (with factory cross bars) and it worked incredibly well making the whole trip possible giving us the space needed to pack in our 3 suitcases, pack-n-play, along with other smaller items that wouldn't fit behind the 3rd row of seats. The XXL cargo box suits the 2018 Traverse very well with the hatch easily opening all the way. The chains seen in the picture are the Glacier PWH2228SC tire chains (also from eTrailer!), which I was dry-fitting before our trip.
Well, this thing really is huge. If you have a suburban, this is the box for you. It's like having an entire second cargo area on the roof of your car. It's lightweight but very durably built, easy to put on the car (though I'd recommend two people to get it up there), and a good value. Make sure you've got somewhere big enough to store it when you're not using it. It's huge.
We call this our rooftop sarcophagus because it’s King Tut sized! For storage reference, other than an ancient entombment, it held two inflatable K2 two person kayaks, four life jackets, four paddles, a folding wagon, four camp chairs, a slim profile ladder (to easily access the carrier on top of van), three pumps, and a few soft items to secure the load. It’s like having a full second vehicle atop yours… installation was relatively easy once your crossbars are in position. Overall we would recommend for anyone with a family who camps, bikes, boats, travels, etc and expect it will last a lifetime. We do remove it from the vehicle for winter or whenever not in regular use to preserve it and also since it adds considerable height so be sure to measure your full vehicle height once it’s on so you don’t drive into a parking garage or other area that’s too short.
Absolutely the best. Easy on and off. Would highly recommend. Added a ton of room for our family of 5 when traveling. Etrailer was fast and easy to work with.
This thing has been great. Easy to install/remove. Comfortably fits 7 people's worth of skis, boots, poles, and duffle bags for a weekend ski trip. Only struggle is sometimes it is hard to lock, but don't let that stop you. This has let a Honda Pilot get 7 people to the snow (three trips now)
There were more pictograms than actual word in the instructions, but I managed fine. Thule needs to redesign the clamp spread to accommodate rails that are 36" apart for better aesthetic balance on the vehicle once installed. I had 2 location choices for my 2017 Suburban, over the sun roof or too close to the rear deck lid. It will suit my needs. More engineering notes may have helped set my expectations a little lower.
The old adage... 'you get what you pay for' holds true here. After a year of using this cargo box, I would definitely make the same purchase again. What primarily sold me on this box initially was (1) ability to open from both sides and (2) easily mounting it on these newer low profile roof racks. It's been used on multiple trips to FL from NJ as well as multiple trips to the Carolinas, PA, and around NJ. It's holding up very well.
My order arrived 5 days ahead of time. The cargo carrier is in perect condition. Ups called me twice from their dispatch center to arrange a day to deliver; the delivery driver called the day of delivery to confirm I'd be home. The chain of custody for my order was phenomenal. Thank all of you for your professional customer service ethic. Please pass on my review to your UPS agents. All of you deserve steak dinners from your supervisors.
Just received my Thule Force XT XXL carrier. So far so good. A little quality issue with the extra clips on the tightening clamp handle, but with a little wiggling, they worked. Rating should actually be 4.5. Have not taken a trip yet, but look forward to loading it up and heading cross-country. SHipping was included and you get what you pay for. Feight shippers could not deliver to my home, so I had to drive 20 minutes to pick it up, but that was better than the $*** shipping that most others charged. Would order again from etrailer

It is a great product for what we needed. Survived gale force storms while driving at 70 mph and only a tiny amount of water got inside. A bit pricy for what it is, but I am glad I bought the Thule instead of a cheaper model.
The Thule Force XT XXL Rooftop Cargo Box fits my 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L perfectly.
literally the best experience ever from order placement to shipping to delivery to post delivery follow up…forget about amazon and order direct from etrailer!!!
Items arrived later than expected despite cancelling an month long order due to waiting stock on a different set up that was in stock. Once it arrived the box was all torn up and the person that delivered it just dropped it in the garage with the boxes spilling out of the bigger box. Love Thule products, etailer and the shipping supplier not so much,
I am so disappointed with this purchase.
I have a 2019 4Runner which is the same as the demo video for this product.
With the factory rails, this doesn't clear the hatch, even though etrailer states it will fit the factory rails.
I installed it as far forward as possible (see picks).
I realize that the 4Runner in the video doesn't have factory rails.
Now I have had to order other rails.
Very frustrated at this point.
Additionally, when empty, if I drive over 60 Mph, the front of this thing flops around up and down rather vigorously - I am afraid it's going to rip off the roof.
This is exactly what my family needed for our trips. Well made and durable. Functioned without issue in -40F and rain storms over distance. My concern was that the box would loosen when it was exposed to freeway stress at load capacity. This did not happen because I followed The installation guide. I did perform a pre-emptive check whenever we downloaded the box. Also- keeps everything dry regardless of the weather. Keep heavier items out of the front part because the wind buffering and negotiable road quality may result in a tapping sound as the nose end visits the roof of your vehicle.
We love it. I did call Etrailer if it will fit 2021 RAV4 Hybrid, he said not sure and asked me to give it a try. The cargo Is actually fitted to my car and its rack. It is worth to have it.
Used the Thule Force XT XXL Rooftop Cargo Box for 6 trips of about 4 hours each. Worked very well. Although it seems to be a bit flimsy when you handle it, when it is latched to the rooftop, it is solid.

When ordered, website said would not be delivered until end of September. Ended up being delivered end of July, nice surprise.
This thing is HUGE. So far I've out 1 full size suitcase and 3 carry-ons with plenty of room to spare. It's not so heavy that I can't move it myself, but having a second person would be helpful. It's large and plastic so it "seems" flimsy when it's open, but when it's loaded and closed, it's rock solid. The design seems like it should be weather tight. Looking forward to many adventures with this cargo carrier.

Great! The carrier has remained weather tight. After probably 10,000 miles of travels with it, its still holding up great. Its freed up so much space inside the car, that roadtrips are much more comfortable. Great buy!
