The box is great, kept everything dry. No noise or rattle. Dont skimp out on a good set of rack bars. Easy install. Made it 3000 miles up the AlCan highway.

Took awhile to get this with backorders. After a cross country trip last fall I feel it was worth the wait. etrailer staff were very helpful on the return/reorder as the first time I ordered the wrong size. I'm way to OCD to own the Thule black SHINY cargo box. -It will show every scratch.. This textured matt black finish blends in very well with my trucks bed cover. In real world performance this unit shows little road dirt especially behind the truck body. With a good UV ray cleaning maintenance schedule the finish should hold up for many years. Some complain about the lock system but if you read the directions and slow down it works well. If in the picture you notice a third Rhino center rail ( from etrailer ) this is for better support of the bikes and the Thule. WELL worth the load safety.

Purchased for my 2007 Touareg which has factory raised rails.
The Thule Force XT L fits perfectly! Very nice and sturdy. Requires 2 people to lift it up onto the crossbars, but just 1 person can secure it after that. I used the Malone AirFlow 2 crossbars. Installing the Thule Force XT L took about 5 minutes which included time spent measuring to get it centered. Very easy!
There is a lot of cargo room - 16 cubic feet - and access from either side of the vehicle. The 2 doors open easily (but you can only have 1 open at a time.). There is a limit of about 12-inches for the opening which is important to note for items you plan to put in. There are tie downs installed and adjustable straps were included to keep items from sliding around.
I have not noticed any wind noise and am able to open and close my sunroof and rear hatch easily.
The only down-side to this Thule Force XT L is that it needs to be taken off before going to a car wash. I normally have my Touareg washed every week so this is going to be a challenge.
Purchased the Thule Force XT L on sale so I think I received a good value. The freight shipping took a while for delivery but tracking the process was easy. The Thule Force XT L instruction book shows to store it flat NOT on end so I was surprised that it was shipped on end inside a cardboard box (with no cushioning or packing materials) and shrink-wrapped onto a pallet. The 2 keys were taped to the side of the cargo box and the package with instructions and straps was unsecured inside the cargo box.

Incredibly useful product! Opening from both sides is an excellent feature. Well constructed and durable. This box holds more cargo than expected, although there are weight limitations to be mindful of. The noise when driving isn’t horrible, just turn the music up and you won’t know it’s there.

etrailer stocking and shipping got it to me in about 5 weeks, beat original estimated timeline. Tracking info right on, projected delivery date met. I am mounting the THULE Force XT L Rooftop Cargo Box to a full length PRINSCU roof rack on a 2020 Toyota 4Runner. Had to remove 2 of the crossbars to allow for the floor of the box to sit flush onto the rails. Once done, used the THULE quick clamps around the 2"x1" bars and installation completed!

Love it. Has more than ample room for storage on a long trip. No problem when in wind or driving 70 plus miles an hour. Has been to Yellowstone, Tennessee, and the Adirondacks. Great travel companion.

Order process and delivery: Excellent! Took a few weeks to get to me, but perfectly understandable as many places, including Thule's own website, was out of stock for a number of weeks and even months. Delivery was simple, box was intact and product came out perfectly protected and new!
The box itself is very sturdy, looks great, and has plenty of room for whatever you want to put in it. Changing out the locks to the one-key system was relatively simple, and I can't wait to take our first family trip with it. Highly recommended!

The Thule Force arrived in great shape and was exactly as described. The etrailer team answered all my questions quickly. It’ll make our road trips much easier. One negative that isn’t related to etrailer or Thule…the shipping of the product to my house didn’t go as planned. It was a day later than scheduled and the truck was too big for a residential neighborhood. I had to meet the driver in a convenience store parking lot and drive home with the box hanging out of the back of my car.

Weve taken it on a few trips and its great. Perfect fit and no real wind noise at all. I may hav e lost 1 mpg over 1000 miles. My only negative is one of the clamps doesnt ratchet when tight. I havent pursued getting a replacement yet. That would be my fault.

After a year the product is holding up exceptionally well, it is easy to put on and take off, we have driven through many rainstorms and everything stays dry. Excellent product, fits perfectly on top of factory cross bars on a 2019 Chevy Traverse. Would definitely recommend this product.

I really like this box. I have used it on many trips. There is a slight increase in wind noise while driving. I built my own cross bars for clamping it to the roof. I made them very low so the box fits close to the roof. I am surprised how water tight it is. It is big, I am barely able to get it on and off by myself. The clamps work great for holding the box in place, but they do pop out of their holding spots when they are not clamped down. I think it’s designed that way so they don’t break when storing or handling the box. Would be nice if there were handles on it like a suitcase handle to make it easier for one person to carry it and move it.

It has worked great. Little to no additional wind noise. I drove all day in a rain storm, I expected a lot of water inside the carrier, but found only a tablespoon or so of water. The clamps hold tight.

great, matte finish and the Large size is perfect for a 2016 Subuaru Crosstrek. Doesn't look egregiously large, but has substantial storage space. The only drawback is that the locking mechanism sometimes has difficulty locking because of all the plastic components, which is annoying, but just requires a little more TLC.

I got this to expand the storage of my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek on road trips and camping trips. It's a great fit on my car. It's super easy to attach and detach from the roof rack - just set it on the crossbars, locate where the clamps should go, then turn the knob on each clamp until the jaws are tight enough. No worries about not tightening enough or over tightening, because the clamps act much like gas caps where they start clicking when the proper clamp force is achieved. I haven't experienced much moisture while using this, but due to the design of the adjustable clamps there is a small chance that water could get into the cargo compartment from the bottom. Another added bonus of this specific cargo carrier with my specific car is that the small diamond haircell texture matches the texture of the black cladding of the Subaru Crosstrek really well. Overall, I am super happy with this purchase with no complaints.

Customer service was excellent and shipping was right on time.
I use this cargo holder to transport a large dog crate and a grooming table across the country. I've found this to be more than up to the challenge of not only holding what I need but when mounting and dismounting the carrier. I carry a small stepladder in my car to assist me. It only takes me 5 minutes to mount or dismount this unit from my Outback. Caution...It's a bit awkward to carry this alone into the garage or out to the car due to car the size of the unit, not the weight. Just plan ahead and you'll be ok.

So far I love this box. It has tons of storage and other than it being heavy it’s super easy to install and remove from the car. I only wish it had handles or something to carry it after removing it.

The Thule is still holding up great! Hardware is still solid. Easy to set on bars and tighten and remove when done using. Probably one the best investments I have ever made.
